Brendan is a very knowledgeable guide who provided an excellent tour of the Intra Muros area of Saint Malo. He conveyed a complete history from ancient times through WWII and the present telling us interesting details and stories. We learned about Saint Malo’s important maritime past and especially appreciated learning about Jacques Cartier’s connections to Canada and Newfoundland. Brendan accommodated the tour to our pace and was a pleasure to spend a few hours with wandering the ancient ramparts and streets of this beautiful city.

Hi there, we are also Americans from NC. We'd love to do a tour with you this Friday Oct 9th. I know it's last minute. Can you happen to squeeze us in? We are in St Malo for our 25th wedding anniversary. If you open up more availability, I'll grab it!
Brendan was terrific. Fun, friendly. and kind. Very helpful. navigating the twists and turns of St Malo terrain. Scholarly and encyclopedic in his knowledge of French history and St Malo architecture. A buttery Breton cookie at the end of the tour was a sweet ending to the delightful tour! Denise
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of St Malo with Brendan, he was friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and fun. I would highly recommend without hesitation.
It's been a truly great experience to be guided by Brendan in St Malo today: we were a group of eight friends coming from different countries in Europe, Asia and South America and all of us agreed that we spent a very enjoyable and informative time following him through the narrow old streets and beautiful ramparts, and travelling through centuries of fascinating history. Although I know St Malo quite well, I discovered a lot more thanks to him, he is very knowledgeable and an excellent story-teller.
We very much enjoyed the tour given by Brendan through Saint Malo. The tour was peaceful, the history was informative and fun for the full family. Would definitely recommend!
Brendan did an excellent job in showing us all aspects of St. Malo and adding a lot of lively details and stories. The little trivia competition was fun and enriched the small group experience.
This Tall in English was very informative of the history of St Malo. I would highly recommend it. Brenda was funny engaging and gave us a biscuit halfway round. It really brought one of my favourite cities to life for us.
Brendan is an outstanding guide whose deep knowledge and warm personality made our visit to St Malo truly memorable. His tour seamlessly covered the city’s earliest origins, the dramatic impact of World War II, and its modern-day character, all delivered in a way that was easy to follow and genuinely engaging. The balance of history, storytelling, and local insight kept the experience entertaining from start to finish. We left with a much richer appreciation of St Malo and would highly recommend Brendan’s tour to anyone visiting the area.
A perfectly curated tour that gave us a concise and informative history of St Malo as well as the salient landmarks. Brendan paid attention to the fact that we were from Montreal and made sure to include the highlights of Jacques Cartier. Brendan is knowledgeable about history and a pleasure to spend 2 hours with.
Brendan was a marvelous guide! He brought the history of St. Malo to life for our group. He is extremely knowledgeable and communicated very well with us. Also, Brendan was very personable and accommodating. We would definitely take another tour with him!
We visited Saint-Malo and while we already somewhat aware of the typical information, Brenden brought the city to life with fascinating insights into its history, from its origins in the 6th century through WWII and the subsequent rebuilding. We particularly enjoyed learning about the connection between Saint-Malo and Louisiana, given our ties to New Orleans. If you want to truly appreciate and understand the city, we highly recommend Brenden.
A last minute decision to take a guided tour in Saint-Malo turned into a truly memorable experience. Brendan is a delightful person to spend an afternoon with, in addition to being impressively knowledgeable about his adopted town and country. In two hours I learned centuries of history through Brendan’s stories and anecdotes about Saint-Malo. Recommend A++
Brendan was the consummate guide—personable and knowledgeable. He took us away from the crowded, touristy part of town, regaling us with stories of the town’s history. The time flew. We’re so glad we had Brendan to introduce us to St. Malo.
We booked a tour with Brendan and it was amazing! He was friendly and engaging, he showed us the most historic parts of the city and made us feel that we were stepping into the past with his stories, anecdotes! Lovely afternoon, we highly recommend him.
We really enjoyed Brendan's tour. He is very knowledgeable. I was impressed with how he was able to answer relatived obscure, difficult questions. He was able to describe historical facts in a very interesting, meaningful way. Highly recommend having him as your guide!
This is a great tour! Brendan brings a unique perspective being an American that lives in the area. He is very knowledgable in the history of Saint Malo, including World War II. He will tailor his presentation to the interests of his group. As tourists from Saskatchewan, Canada we appreciated a guide that spoke English and was very relatable as a tour guide to our personalities and interests, and he is a super nice guy! Well worth the price.
We had the pleasure of taking one of Brendan’s tours of Saint Malo. It was a place that my husband and I had always wanted to visit but had never taken the opportunity to do so. Brendan stood out to us as a tour guide for a couple of reasons. 1. It felt natural choosing him as he spoke our native language and 2. We really felt we connected with his humorous and novel take on telling history about the area, as we had seen from his social media. Let’s just say when we started the tour neither of us were disappointed. It was exactly what we expected. Fun, enthusiastic, engaging and a pleasure to be in Brendan’s company around such a spectacular place. He really pulls you into the magical history of St Malo. There was so much to learn about the town, we had no idea that it held so much history. I won’t ruin what happens on the tour of Saint Malo, as I think it’s all part of the surprise of the exceptional tour that Brandon has created. All I can say is please take the time, watch his videos, go follow him, and take the trip. It is so worth it. Brendan, we look forward to exploring St. Malo more, and that’s all down to you, so thank you.
Brendan was fabulous. Very knowledgeable, friendly and personable. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the city of St. Malo.
I had an incredible experience exploring Saint-Malo with Brendan! From the moment the tour started, it was clear how passionate he is about history — especially the city's role during the war and its connections with different nations throughout the centuries. He brought the past to life with detailed stories, insightful facts, and a contagious enthusiasm that made everything more engaging. It truly helped me see the city in a new light. Things I would have just walked past — old signs, coats of arms, architectural details, even street names — suddenly had meaning and stories behind them. If you're lucky enough to visit Saint-Malo, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Brendan!
