We only stayed at Oceania Saint-Malo for two nights during our 12-day trip through France, but we absolutely fell in love with this hotel and its location! Breakfast with a view! Having our morning coffee on the terrace overlooking the water was stunning and so peaceful. The breakfast itself was top-notch, with plenty of options, and the staff was constantly replenishing everything. We had a first-floor suite with a balcony, which was a HUGE plus. The room had wonderful natural light, was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was equally spacious. We loved the shower, the separate toilet, and even the shampoo, shower gel, and other bath products were really nice. Most importantly...the bed! We changed hotels several times during our 12 days in France, and this was by far the most comfortable bed and one of the best rooms of our entire trip. We slept incredibly well. The location is fantastic. It's an easy walk to the walled city of Saint-Malo and close to plenty of restaurants and food options. It was an ideal base for exploring Saint-Malo, and we also arranged our Mont Saint-Michel tour directly from the hotel, which was only about a 45-minute drive away. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and welcoming throughout our stay. **One important note if you're arriving by car:** parking is very limited. When we arrived, there wasn't even a place to temporarily park while checking in. My husband had to circle the hotel while I went inside, and we were then told the hotel parking was full. We ended up parking in an overnight lot near the marina about 2–3 blocks away. It was inconvenient with our luggage, but ultimately worked out well, and was actually considerably cheaper than the hotel parking! This was a minor inconvenience for us, but definitely something to be aware of if you're traveling by car or have a lot of luggage. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay. Between the beautiful waterfront location, peaceful terrace, fantastic breakfast, incredibly comfortable room and bed, and easy walk into historic Saint-Malo, we would happily stay here again!

The hotel itself is decent. Nothing special. Good location. But. I booked through Agoda.com — the only option was online payment, so I paid 260 euros upfront for one night. At check-in, they took a 60-euro deposit (even though there is no mention of this in the hotel's description). At check-out, they asked whether I wanted the deposit refunded to the same card, and I said yes. They printed out an invoice (I didn't even look at it — many guests don't take it at all). Then, a day later, I checked my bank account: Room payment via Agoda — 260 euros. Amount blocked by the hotel — 181 euros. A charge taken by the hotel the day after check-out — 241 euros!!! (As it turned out, this was exactly the amount on that invoice.) === So on top of the 260 euros, an additional 421 euros was charged or blocked from my account! I understand that mistakes happen. But I contacted them both through Agoda and via the e-mail address listed on the hotel's website — and got no reply anywhere. In that light, with customer service like this, the hotel genuinely earns one star. And if there is no response here either, I will have no choice but to take the matter to court. P.S. After hotels answer. I already sent you e-mail (without answer). You have all my contacts including e-mail and phone number and information. So, it's your turn to contact me and to resolve this situation.
The room (Prestige with full ocean view) was exactly as described. Loved the Rituals products. Beautiful view of the beach. But it was weird that only paper cups were offered in the room--felt cheap. Breakfast was disappointing (powdered eggs? Not real eggs?). Parking is very, very tight. Beware if you have a large SUV. Location is great; it's a 5-minute walk at most to get to the old town. There may be some traffic to get to the hotel by car.
We had a wonderful 3 night stay in August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room and balcony were of very high standard, clean and well stocked. The staff and facilities were also of a high standard too. The hotel is the perfect distance away from the centre, so easy to walk and far quieter at night. We will definitely be back.
What a fantastic hotel! I have been coming to Saint-Malo since 1999 and have stayed at lots of hotels. This hotel hit every single mark: comfortable beds, jetted tub and separate shower, spa and pool amenities, bar, close proximity to the center, and a knockout view. Such a relaxing stay watching and listening to the tides. The only problem we had was the internet was unstable. Otherwise perfect in every way.
