Absolutely wonderful tour; we could not have asked for better weather, especially for October. Whales were spotted right as we left the marina. Beautiful sunset photo opportunity as we returned. Exciting from start to finish and all in between. We had a delicious break in a lovely cove for a lunch. Ethan is an exceptional guide.

Getting to see humpback whales and killer whales
Great experience. Very comfortable and guide was great. Attached a sequence of pictures with an Orca bring fluke out and slamming the water to stun the sea lion the pod had caught. Phil
Amazing afternoon, being guided between 5/6 humpbacks, including mum and calf, skipper and crew so knowledgeable, when to wait in area for whale to resurface and when to move on. So much respect and space given to these majestic animals, it didn't feel like we where intruding into their world. Well organised but chilled time from start to finish. Thank you for magical memories.
Captain Andy was ready for us with warm red floating jumpsuits. We set out on the smaller zodiac as there were just six of us. Once we found the two humpbacks and the motor was shut off, the momma named Divot and her calf delighted us for a good while. Before heading back to the Marina, the Captain took us to watch the Sea Lions on their platform. The water was calm and the weather was perfect. I would recommend this tour for making memories!
Wonderful experience! Tons of fun! Followed a momma humpback and her calf for the majority of the tour. The guides also extended plenty of their knowledge to do with not only the whales but also the sea, and other vessels on the water. It was a fun learning experience and a superb time.
It was great staff were awesome and we definitely saw whales.
Amazing day on the water finding whales and sea lions. Stella was amazing and informative. Would definitely go again!
The whale watching was a great experience. Got to see some amazing humpback whales and the ride was great as well. Enjoyed every second of it. The guide was well knowledged on the whales, so learnt a few new things as well. Would recommend
Great afternoon whale watching
Safety and tour guide was very good. First experience for whale watching. Only a little disappointed that I didn't see more and full bodied whales. Overall was worth it, definitely do it again.
An experience of a lifetime. The weather was perfect, the boat is low to the water so you get a great view, our captain (Ethan, I think) was knowledgeable and fun. He found us a pod of 6 whales that were active and exciting to watch nature at its finest.
It was a great experience we saw a killer whale for 45 mins and sealions on the way back. Very knowledgable . Recommend this tour very much
Location was easy to find. Zodiac was very comfortable as we covered a lot of ocean looking for whales. We saw a single humpback and a pod of about 6 orcas. Watched the orcas hunting for about 45 minutes. Amazing to see just how big they are.
We had a fabulous tour with Captain Andrew, Ethan and the most amazing Naturalist, Stella. Her knowledge and beautiful personality made the trip so enjoyable! Gold stars to everyone including the Orca pod we observed, the Sea Lions, the sharks, the birds and the surprise appearance of the Grey Whale 🌟
They did a good job. a little out of the way from airport area.
Absolutely incredible whale-watching experience in Vancouver! 🐋 The scenery was beautiful, the crew was friendly and knowledgeable, and seeing the whales in their natural environment was something I’ll never forget. Everything was well organized, and the whole experience was exciting from start to finish. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Vancouver—it’s definitely worth doing!
This is the 4th time that I have been whale watching with White Rock Sea Tours and I have never been disappointed. Every tour has been different. I've now seen the seals in different locations, Biggs whales, grey whales and the last time I got the pleasure to see porpoises and humpback whales. The humpbacks were jumping out of the water and showing off their big tale fins. The staff is friendly and informative.
We had a really great whale watching. The children could also come along without any problems (4 and 6 years). We can only recommend it.
What a special day for our group of six women, with a boat all to ourselves! From booking the tour with short notice, to answering all my annoying questions, and treating us with such kindness and attention, White Rock Sea Tour employees were top notch. Our departure from Crescent Beach on a beautiful day, a 35 minute boat ride to Saturna Island, a 15 minute walk to the Sage Hayward Winery and Bistro, where we had a lovely wine tasting at our table followed by a delicious meal, was heaven! The best part was being told by our tour guides that we could take our time, as long as we wanted, and just message them when we were ready to go. Our server at the Bistro, originally from Montreal, was a treat. She was so pleasant and attentive, all on a day they were short staffed. Our boat ride back was made even more special with a sighting of a pod of transient Orcas and a stop to see the Stellar sea lions lounging on a large buoy. We loved it! Thank you White Rock Sea Tours for a memorable six hours!
Stela the tour guide, she was amazing, she has greatly personality, nice with customers and , good attitude and very friendly communication. We all really enjoyed 😊
We booked a time with WhiteRock Sea Tours to honour our dad by having his ashes scattered on Crescent Beach Coast. Ethan and his staff were respectful and compassionate during our emotional journey. They knew exactly what they were doing which took all the stress away as we embraced the difficult moments of saying goodbye to our dad. Thank you Ethan and crew
It was surreal! Andy was great! My crew saw a seal escape 3-4 Orcas by jumping onto another boat. And the sea lions were so stinking cute! The whole experience was truly priceless! Thank you Andy for an unforgettable experience. P.S. if you’re offered a ride on the red boat with the weird seats, just do it!!!
Brilliant trip. Very professional company and the guide was really knowledgeable. We were so lucky - a pod of 3 orcas swam really close us. Weather and sea conditions were also perfect.
The experience itself was good. The boat was fun, albeit it was uncomfortable after a little while, and we did see a humpback whale and some sealions, but our guide did not really do a huge amount. When we saw wildlife, he was knowledgeable and gave us details about the animals, but there really was not a huge amount of communication. It would have been good to learn and know about where we were and the area! For example, we had no idea we had entered American waters, or what the islands were we sailed past and through. There was one point where we were amongst the islands, and then we just sped off, without any reason why. Like I say, it is a good tour, and we saw stuff, but given we were on the boat for 3.5 hours, it would have been nice to be told more facts about the area and wildlife. It was a bit lacklustre and came away half disappointed. It honestly felt like we were just on a boat sailing around for hours.
Fantastic day out in the water and we saw lots of orcas.
We really enjoyed the trip. It was fantastic to see the Orca Whales, so beautiful and majestic. The staff were amazing. I highly recommend it.
A really awesome excursion. I highly recommend.
We booked the whale watching tour as a last day treat to round off an excellent road trip in Canada and it didn’t disappoint! The boat trip alone was fantastic! We all had a great time. The weather was perfect and we saw Orcas, seals, dolphins and bald eagles. The crew were welcoming and the guide, Stella was lovely . Thank you for a great afternoon.
Communication was excellent from start to finish. The crew went above and beyond to accommodate someone with Down syndrome who had never seen the ocean before, let alone been on a boat out on it. They allowed us to come down early so he could check out the boat, get familiar with everything, and feel comfortable before the tour. They even let us wait to pay until we knew he was comfortable enough to get on board. The patience, kindness, and understanding shown by the entire crew made the experience truly special. Thanks to their efforts, it turned into an unforgettable day. Amazing crew and an amazing experience. Highly recommend White Rock Sea Tours!
The experience is so great. We are thankfully saw the group of killer whale and grey whale. Thank you for the tour guides.
We booked the trip for 8 while on a work trip, and when the weather called for it to be cancelled (which was very disappointing to the team) the staff worked hard with us to arrange an outing that would not hinder our travel plans. They came in and did a full service set up for just our crew, which was an inconvenience to them and did it with such grace and kindness. They took us out and were very thoughtful to prepare us properly with correct gear to protect against the elements and insure we would be as comfortable as possible. They monitored our comfort throughout and were very informative and kind. They knew exactly where to go for the best Whale Sightings and had us watching a pod of Orcas within an hour. It was windy and chilly but the experience was amazing and a real treat! Highly recommend their services!
First, no whales. However, I wasn't expecting whales due to the time of year and I had actually booked the tour hoping just to see Steller sea lions. My tour was canceled and thus I was added to the whale watching tour. We had several good views of the sea lions and also saw eagle and sea birds. We spent a few hours searching for whales without results. Overall it was a nice outing on the water.
This trip was truly amazing. We got to see orcas hunt sea lions. Even though it was a winter trip, we got to see a lot of action. We also got to see the islands from the water and a plethora of birds, including eagles. The staff and captain could not have been friendlier or nicer. It was truly a magnificent experience.
Andy and Ethan were both really welcoming, flexible to our schedule and they were extremely knowledgeable which was demonstrated by their ability to figure out likely routes after the whales last sightings. We had a really entertaining and informative session with them and would highly recommend. Love the fact this is a family business which my wife and I prefer to support, which they backed up by their service and knowledge.
Steve and team were friendly, fun and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our first whale watching experience and worth the 40 mins drive from downtown. We saw humpback whales and sealions. We even stopped by Daturna island for a quick break. We highly recommended experience when I'm Vancouver. Thank you and more power.
Eugenie was such an amazing naturalist guide. She explained how important it is to respect the Orcas. We thoroughly enjoyed our day! Captain Andrew was very professional and interesting to talk to with many great stories. The location was very convenient for us in White Rock where we were staying. Highly recommended!! 5⭐️
My family (two adults, two teens and one 10 year old) spent the afternoon on the water seeing Orcas, Dolphins and Sea Lions. We also stopped off at one of the islands for dinner and then headed home. The two employees were fantastic and very informative on where to see everything. The boat was comfortable and we all felt very safe.
From the moment Captain Andy pulled into the marina, "You look to be William", he made my choice to choose White Rock Sea Tours the correct one. Tides are not something I see every day living in Ontario, Canada so receiving updates from him about unfortunate delays was very much appreciated, the zodiac is unable to travel with the tide as low as it was at the original departure time. The listing says a 4 hour tour but prepare to be out longer as you enjoy the scenes the whales provide. Yesterday we were fortunate to have a family of Biggs Killer whales feeding off Pender island and then witness them in a small bay. Will definitely be back for a 3rd time if my vacation time allows in the future. Thank you Captain Andy and Eugenie for providing our group a wonderful day
We had the most incredible experience on our whale-watching tour with White Rock! Captain Andrew and his amazing crew gave us a day we’ll never forget. We spotted porpoises, seals, humpbacks, and even a family of orcas. We were lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time with both the humpbacks and the orcas, and at one point a humpback swam so close we’re pretty sure it went right under the boat! Eugenie, one of the crew members, was wonderfully knowledgeable—answering all our questions and sharing fascinating facts. She was also fantastic with our kids, who absolutely adored her. The trip was excellent value for money, and Captain Andrew made the journey to and from the whales just as fun, with music perfectly suited to our group, which included family from all over. Thank you for such a magical day on the water. We can’t wait to come back and do it all over again! Andrew also mentioned beer tours and island hopping—both of which sound absolutely stunning and a lot of fun.
The boat ride was fun especially when blasting thru the channels of the Gulf Islands. The whales were interesting to see, but i think the real value of the tour was experiencing the West Coast from the water and up close.
Great crew, comfortable boat with unrestricted viewing. Captain Andy had located orcas before we even left the marina; amazing! Lovely stop for snacks at Port Browning on North Pender Island and a scenic ride back to base. Some quality tunes over the sound system 🎶 My 83-year old mother was well looked after … thank you. Wildlife seen … Biggs Orcas, porpoises, seals, bald eagles. Overall a great trip & experience; would highly recommend and I’ll be returning for future trips.
We were quite grateful that they didn’t cancel our tour, going out with only three of us who had booked for that date and time. We were a bit worried it would be canceled, but after some back-and-forth, they agreed to go still. My guests from Ontario had a wonderful experience, they had never seen whales before. And we were incredibly lucky that the whales swam towards us with the engine off, so our photos are incredible. It was a wonderful experience, truly a once in a lifetime encounter.
Captain Andy and Ethan were amazing. Found two pods of Orca whales, as well as seals and sea lions. Would definitely book again!
Had a fantastic going out on this whale watching tour. Saw both orca and humpback whales even thought it was the off season. Also saw sea lions, seals, porpoises, and bald eagles. The captain and tour guide were very knowledgeable.
We had such a good time on this whale tour. The views from the boat were incredible and we saw so many humpback whales
My trip to see whales with Captain Andy and Lisa was just amazing. Had lunch on Pender Island. Saw whales. Just a wonderful excursion. Would do it again.
This was our first experience with White rock sea tours and we enjoyed it very much. Captain Andy and our naturalist Lisa were amazing as well as careful. When you are going out in sea you are facing new elements. Captain Andy maintained a safe distance with the sealife respecting the power of the beast as well as our safety. Lisa shared some really interesting facts with us about orcas and other fish throughout the trip. They are also actively involved in sealife conservation which is commendable. The music along the ride made it more lively.
Fabulous trip! Saw hump backs, killer whales and sea lions. Knowledgeable, friendly, and professional staff, and we never felt there was a rush to get back and ended up with a longer trip than booked. We were lucky with having perfect weather which helped, but i can't recommend highly enough.
Have been Whale watching several times with Captain Andy and crew. Always a great time . We had visitors from Ireland keen to see the gulf islands and Whales. Andy was very flexible and tried extremely hard despite weather and aWhale no show day ,finally was successful Andy is a very experienced mariner and makes one feel very safe. The boats are fast ,but one needs to be reasonably fit to ride the seats. This was one of the highlights of the Canadian trip. Would heartily recommend them 😎😎😊
