Once you're checked in, your Zodiac skipper will escort you down to the dock, where you'll gear up in a full-body flotation suit worn over your clothes. These cruiser suits help keep you warm, but we still recommend dressing in warm layers, it’s always cooler out on the water, especially at speed! Get ready for an exciting and immersive ride close to the ocean’s surface. Once on the water, your adventure truly begins. With the wind in your face and the ocean spray at your side, your skipper will navigate the Salish Sea in search of whales and other marine life. You might encounter orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, harbor seals, porpoises, and a variety of seabirds. I joined the 10 AM tour on September 27, 2026, aboard the Ocean Cruiser with Captain Cam, and it was an incredible experience! We saw both orcas and humpback whales, as well as seals. Seeing these animals in the wild was a real highlight of my trip to Canada. It was chilly out on the water, but absolutely worth it. I travelled solo and am so glad I booked this tour. Great operation with a solid process. All employees were professional, knowledgeable, and very insightful. We followed a known visiting humpback from Mexico and -- surprise -- she had a calf along with her today! This was a first sighting for the local operators. Highly recommend SpringTide Whale Watching, not only are they knowledgeable and care about our fragile eco system, but they inform and educate along the way.
I went on the 3rd of October at 2pm on the Zodiac trip and it was just amazing! We saw various humpbacks, orcas, different sea lions, birds and even a sea otter:) Cam did such a wonderful job! The stiring felt safe at any time and his knowledge about the whales was just amazing! Wow!! We saw so much wildlife! What an experience. The zodiac was really fun and it meant we got so up close to some whales! The trip was made more amazing because of our guide, Cam. He is so knowledgable, he gave us so much interesting information that I actually found myself writing down because I didn’t want to forget it. We could feel his passion about whales and marine wildlife, so much so it makes me want to learn more as well, he was inspiring. A day we will never forget!!!!

11/09/26 @ 2pm with Cam This trip was incredible, we all had the best time! Cam was such an awesome guide, he had so much knowledge about the animals and knew their behaviours so well! We managed to see many hump back whales, experiencing them whilst eating as well as playing in the kelp. We were also lucky to see a group of orcas, at one point they were hunting a sea lion, that managed to get to the rocks lucky for enough for it! We also saw lots of sea lions hunting and sunbathing in the rocks around the lighthouse in the area. Incredible day, amazing guide and we would all recommend this trip to anyone! Thanks guys!

Fabulous trip to see the whales and more. Captain Cam found lots of hump backs and killer whales, plus sea lions…and river otter. Captain was in no rush to get back, he was enjoying it as much as we were. I was surprised by how comfortable the ride was, 3.5 hours, and not uncomfortable in the slightest!
Cam did a great job leading our Zodiac. He shared his knowledge about whale behaviors so we knew what to look for and what would likely come next. We saw a trio of humpback whales and 2 families (6 whales) of killer whales. Amazing experience. Cam shared historical information about the killer whales that we were observing Springtide was an overall positive experience as they are customer oriented, were responsive and answered my questions prior to the trip. Highly recommend this adventure and Cam. Zodiac is best, smaller group, closer to the water
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars — 10/10! We went whale watching with SpringTide Whale Watching & Charters on September 23, 2026, and honestly, the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Booking was incredibly easy, and the check-in process was smooth and stress-free. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and clearly cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. Our tour guide, Cam, was absolutely awesome. He was incredibly knowledgeable and did such a great job educating us throughout the trip. I learned WAY more than I expected to about the whales, the local wildlife, and the area in general. At one point I started wondering if I had accidentally signed up for a marine biology class — except this one came with whales and a much better view. 😂 Cam also provided excellent customer service and was genuinely thoughtful about making sure everyone onboard was comfortable, having fun, and staying safe. You could tell that the entire crew was paying attention to the little things and really wanted everyone to have a memorable experience. The combination of the beautiful scenery, incredible wildlife, knowledgeable crew, and great customer service made this one of the highlights of our trip. 5 stars without hesitation. 10/10 would absolutely do it again. If you’re considering a whale-watching tour in Victoria, SpringTide is definitely worth checking out!

We had booked a Zodiac whale-watching tour for September 13, and Cam was our captain. In addition to giving us plenty of tips on where to eat as we left the harbor (we followed his advice and it was great), we managed to spot several (!) humpback whales with him. He always took great care to keep a safe distance from the animals. I highly recommend it.
OMG!!! My adult son talked us into this Whale watching tour. We were tired and ready to just relax. Cam greeted us and was friendly and charming. He helped us to get the right sized flotation suit (which was great because it did help keep you warm,once the boat was going. It was pretty chilly!) Cam gave us the safety talk, which was very funny! (His best tip: " don't fall in the water!!") We didn't even go very far and we saw 3 Orcas. Cam told us where to look, what kind of creature we were seeing and all about these beautiful creatures. We saw Orcas, Hump Back Whale, Porpoises and Sea Lions. We really saw quite a few. We were on a 10 day Alaska Cruise and this Whale Watching Tour was hands-down the best thing we did. Cam was informative and very kind. I would absolutely do this tour again and I highly recommend it, to anyone who asks.

We did the 10am cruise today.. 16th September with Cam being our driver and guide. He was great.. and offered much information. We saw many humpbacks... many opened mouthed feeding.. awesome then on the way back.. once in the harbour 3 orca surfaced.. about 6ft from us. Exhilarating as we have done many Orca trips and never seen them this close!

We went on a zodiac whale watching tour on the 1st of September. Our guide, Mac, was very knowledgeable about all the wildlife we encountered, and he made the zodiac experience safe and exciting. We saw several humpbacks, a colony of sea lions and we sailed along killer whales. It was a trip to remember and definitely recommended!

This was truly incredible! Cam managed to get close enough for us to see the breathing out of humpback whales. I was lucky enough to catch a tail fluke photo. At one point we saw 3 whales together, Cam thought mum, calf and potential suitor to mum. We also saw, up close, sea lions, a sea otter, many seals and 3 types of jellyfish. Definitely worth the money.

This was our families fourth time on a zodiac tour and was the best whale watching excursion ever!! We must have seen over 20 humpback’s swimming before moving on to the islands to see seals and sea lions (many of whom swam all around us hunting) and ended the tour with a pair of humpback males who put on an amazing show; tail flips, barrel rolls and breaching. Our guide, Cam was amazing! He knew where to go and made sure we got the best views. Next time we will use the same company, ask for Cam and get out on a day when the Orcas have been spotted.
We had the pleasure of a whale watching adventure Friday Sept 4 on the Springtide Zodiac with Captain Cam. The experience was awesome. Well organized and informative at the office, safety procedures explained fully. Friendly staff. Saw all kinds of wildlife but have to say the whales were my absolute favorite part . Cam offered interesting facts on everything we saw. A running commentary on the sealife and west coast history. Excellent info. The whole experience was so much fun! The weather was perfect Thank you

Went went on the 2pm Zodiac whale watching tour. How much fun did we have!! Our tour guide and boat driver extraordinaire was Cam. He made us feel super relaxed and comfortable. His skill with the zodiac was next level-that was worth the trip alone! We saw many humpbacks, an orca family and noisy seals. Cam was great at explaining information about the whales and how to spot them. It was such a fantastic experience, I highly recommend it!

Had a phenomenal day with Cam. I took the 10am trip with the zodiac on 8/30/26. Saw three different humpback whales and multiple families of killer whales. The killer whales were hunting so we got to see a bunch of activity. Even got lucky on the way back seeing a Humpback whales face. Also saw a bunch of sea lions. It was a cold day but the suits they give you to wear keep you pretty warm. Would definitely recommend.
