What a great experience. Brian is an engaging and informative guide, with lots of stories, information and chat. We enjoyed spending time with him and the culinary treats. Cookies to die for, smash burgers and spicy fries, a cheeky orange natural wine (a first for me) and an indulgent ice cream to finish it off…. We will not be eating again for a while. Would not hesitate to recommend this walking/boat bus trip. Thank you Brian for your professionalism and charm. Grace and Nick

If you want to experience Vancouver like a local, you should book this tour with Brian. From the very start, Brian’s relaxed friendliness completely set the tone for the afternoon. He feels less like a rigid tour guide and more like an old friend showing you around his favourite neighbourhood spots. He is incredibly warm, welcoming, and happy to share great insider tips about the city without ever making the tour feel rushed or scripted. While the smash burgers were incredible, the absolute star of the show for me was the gourmet chocolate chip cookie. It is definitely not "just another" chocolate chip cookie - Oh No! It has another gourmet surprise ingredient - but I am going to keep that a secret; you will just have to book one of Brian's tours to find out what the secret ingredient is. Brian ensures you get full-sized, generous portions and personalised choice at every single stop. Just make sure you skip lunch!
My wife and I completely enjoyed this tour with Brian. We were late to the tour but Brian was understanding and flexible. The food and drinks were great and his knowledge of EVERYTHING Vancouver, from food and drink, to points of interest and historical matters was fantastic. We have been on tours around the world and this one was well worth the time because of Brian and the little known food and drink establishments that he showed us . He also gave us recommendations for other restaurants and venues which was an unexpected and well appreciated bonus!
Enjoyed the tour food was good
Got to eat tons of yummy food. Bryan promised to give us the best cookie in all of Vancouver and he was not wrong.
Brian was amazing! We saw Vancouver from the 42nd floor and received a local’s perspective of the town: history, best local food, cool spots with great views. I had high expectations and the tour surpassed those. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
All I can say is, "Wow!" Brian is a true local who knows exactly where to find Vancouver's best food and drinks. We spent an incredible afternoon exploring the city through a local's perspective, with every stop better than the last. From an unforgettable popcorn, marshmallow, and chocolate chip cookie to one of the best smash burgers we've ever had, every bite was outstanding. Unlike many food tours that offer only small samples, Brian treated us to full-sized portions at every stop. We left with full stomachs, great memories, and a whole new appreciation for Vancouver's food scene.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Brian. Great chat, great food and even better beer! Brian's local knowledge was 2nd to none. He had plenty of great stories and gave us invaluable advice for the rest of our stay in Vancouver. 11/10, would go again! 👍
Brian was extremely friendly and informative. We met in a local coffee shop, and then proceeded to a nearby rooftop where we munched on an unusual cookie while experiencing the panoramic views of Vancouver. We then walked around parts of Vancouver and visited a local park then onto a burger joint and finally ice cream. Enjoyable start to our vacation.
Great food, local sites, & great tour guide.
We had a great experience with our guide Brian. He was warm and easy to talk to, and knew Vancouver very well. We learned a lot about the city from him in addition to the food destinations we visited (which were spot on). He also gave us references and recommendations for places not on the tour and for the remainder of our time in Vancouver. We left the tour with a better understanding of Vancouver and its neighborhoods and history and that alone was worth the tour.
Today’s Local Taste Tour was a delight. My husband said that he wouldn’t change a thing. In about three hours, we ate so much and enjoyed learning so much local history. Starting with coffee (hot hibiscus tea for me) and fabulous chocolate chip cookies, we looked out over a top floor panoramic view of Vancouver. Brian showed us sites from each direction, and on this clear afternoon, we could even see Mt. Baker in the states. After walking through a secret Oriental garden with lore of its own, we enjoyed the best burger in the city— found in Chinatown! A walk along the seawall led us to a fabulous bar where we sat and enjoyed a drink. Next, we were off on a water taxi, our first trip on one, to the Olympic Park. We learned about that history and then found our way at the best ice cream shop in the city. After a sample or two, we settled on a flavor. Brian offered the best commentary as we walked and ate, and he took us to some great spots. We highly recommend Brian and any of his tours!
Brian was great! We loved learning about the non-touristy parts of Vancouver. Loved that the food was his opinion on the best burger in town, best cookie in town, best ice cream in town. The food was all amazing.
We had an excellent afternoon with Brian. He started our walking tour at the top of a 42 story building nearby, with an open air deck. Got our bearings about various landmarks in Vancouver and where we would ultimately be exploring. Brian knows so much about Vancouver and we really enjoyed his company and commentary! There were only 3 of us on the tour, so we could have lots of conversation with Brian as we walked to our destinations. Great food and beverages all around and definitely places we would not have discovered on our own. Burgers, cookies, ice cream, beer and cocktails!
Brian was an excellent tour guide and the food was fantastic. Got a great insight into the city and how it’s made up and has changed through the years.
This tour was truly amazing! Brian did such an amazing job and we had a great time! And, all the food was great! Good way to see the city.
Fantastic tour with a very knowledgeable guide who can tell you not only about the food but about the city, the sports, Canadian politics, and fun things to do during your stay. Some great views of the city and interesting non-food sites mixed in— I really felt like I was getting a city tour as well as a food tour, at least of the 3-4 neighborhoods be covered. Good ratio of walking to eating so that you were always just the right level of hungry for the next stop.
It was a really informative tour with great food. We felt like we got a good sense of the city, its culture and cuisine. I would highly recommend.
Got a chance to learn history about the areas around Gaston, Chinatown and Olympic village and had a great burger, cookie and Ernest ice cream. Brian was accommodating to all ages in our group. We enjoyed our experience
It was a very rainy day with many people deciding to stay in as our guide, Brian Feldbloom, a very knowledgeable individual about the Vancouver area stated that we would get a private tour. Brian provided a taste of the city at places that were local knowledge. We started at Timbertrain Coffee Roasters in Gastown. It’s a small shop with very friendly staff, great coffee and excellent chocolate chip cookies. We were provided a chocolate chip, popcorn and marshmallow. An interesting take that was very good. As we were out and about walking, we went to the top of an apartment building, name escapes me, where we enjoyed the cookie and an birdseye view of the inlet and a brief history of the area. As we were headed to our next stop in Chinatown, we stopped in and viewed the Chineses garden. A very peaceful place in the middle of the city with a large Koy pound , benches and pathway. We then stopped for a smash burger at Between Two Buns Burgers. Again, a local eatery with great staff and varied selection of burgers, fries, beers and ciders. We had a cheeseburger with jalapeño and a regular cheeseburger. Next stop was for a beer/beverage at what as termed as a pop up. We were able to get a local wine or beer, which were a good sampling of local products. After taking the waterbus across inlet and a short walk around the sea wall, we finished off the tour with some gelato and then said our goodbyes. Brian explained different options for us to get back to our hotel, a very short walk, with different views depending on how you returned. We opted for a sea wall stroll, then over a bridge and back to the hotel. The rain had actually held off for our tour which made for a very nice day.
We had a great afternoon with Brian. He absolutely loves the city and enjoys sharing some of his favorite local spots with others. We may not have experienced these great places on our own. The coffee, cookie, burger, beer, ice cream and walk were all fantastic! We enjoyed learning more about Vancouver. Brian is an incredible host!
The guide was excellent - knowledgeable, personable and entertaining. Took us to some unique and interesting spots we would never have found or had access to on our own. Food and drinks were excellent at neat little venues. Highly recommend!
This was such a relaxing way to get to know Vancouver. I like the small group concept and Brian was an amazing host - both engaging and local knowledgeable. Food and drinks were great and the small group made for very engaging interactions. Truly more a local vibe than a tourist experience. Would recommend to anyone.
1st time in Vancouver. Very fortunate to have Brian give us the tour. He clearly loves the city, & took us to experience some of his favorite eateries- The best coffee, chocolate chip cookies, smash burgers, craft beers. While learning some city lore moving from one location to the next. We had a great afternoon, & would highly recommend.
Walking Vancouver with Brian was like spending a day with an old friend. Our tour ended up being a solo one, and I had great food and conversation the entire time. You will enjoy your time with him.
Our food tour in Vancouver was absolutely wonderful! From start to finish, the experience was engaging, flavorful, and thoughtfully curated. Our guide, Brian, truly made the tour memorable. His deep knowledge of the city's history, neighborhoods, and culinary scene added so much richness to each stop we made. What really stood out was Brian’s ability to select fun and unique food experiences that showcased the diversity of Vancouver's cuisine. Each location we visited felt like a hidden gem—places we likely wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Brian was also incredibly flexible and attentive to our needs. He went above and beyond to create a comfortable and personalized experience. If you're visiting Vancouver and want a delicious and authentic taste of the city, I highly recommend this tour. It's more than just food—it’s a journey through the heart of the city, led by someone who clearly loves it!
This tour was great. We started off with the best chocolate chip cookie ever, and no doubt it was the best chocolate chip cookie ever. They were beautiful views, the weather was perfect, Brian, our tour guide was wonderful, and all the food and drinks we had were great. We even threw in a little extra beach time. I would recommend this tour to anybody that wants to see Vancouver in a different way. Well done.
I traveled with my husband, as well as another couple. And we were lucky enough to be joined by a 3rd incredibly lovely couple. Brian was a perfect guide- he’s a local guy, so knew some great foodie spots. As well as local history & points of interest. An all around fun outing that we all highly recommend.
Such a memorable tour! Brian went above and beyond to show my husband & I around to some of the best food in Vancouver. Each of the 3 places we visited for food were 10/10 in terms of flavour & vibe. What stood out most was how much he genuinely wanted to show us his home area, both with his willingness to know about us and our interest paired with his deep knowledge of the history and geography of Vancouver. I’d thoroughly recommend a tour with him to anyone interested in getting a few hour of food, drink and good chit chat! 😊
We had a great time. Brian let us see sights of Vancouver while sampling cookies burgers and ice cream. I was a great time. He is a great host for Vancouver. I hope to keep in touch for a return visit soon. We love the city.
As someone who usually saves food tours for traveling abroad, I wasn’t sure what to expect doing one in my own city—but I’m so glad I did. Our guide, Brian, was fantastic—super friendly, great energy, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun from start to finish. The food stops were all on point, with a great mix of flavors and hidden gems I didn’t even know existed. I’ve already made a list to revisit and will definitely be spreading the word to friends. Highly recommend this for both locals and visitors!
With this tour we saw parts of the city we wouldn’t have found on our own. The food was fun and we enjoyed exploring with a guide who knows the city. The small group size made the trip feel like we were visiting with a friend in the city
We enjoyed a wonderful food tour exploration of Vancouver with Brian in early December. He was a fun and entertaining guide! His expertise and experience led us to great food and drink choices. We toured places on our visit to Vancouver that we would not have seen without his guidance. We highly recommend his services as a food and drink maven.
My wife and I visited Vancouver to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we’re so glad we booked this tour! From the moment we reserved our spot, communication was seamless. Brian was incredibly helpful, even recommending some fantastic restaurants for us to try before our tour. On the day of the tour, it was just the two of us, which made it feel like a more personalized experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the snacks and drinks were a perfect touch. The views were stunning, and the entire experience felt incredibly well-organized from start to finish. It's no surprise that this tour has such glowing reviews — we can’t recommend it enough!
Absolutely delightful time! Our guide was so knowledgeable of the area and showed us some real gems. There's no way we would have found the places we visite, but now we have places to go back to! A great way to spend the afternoon!
Book this tour! If you want to experience Vancouver like a local, this is the tour to book. Brian was AMAZING. Communication before the tour was spot on and very helpful. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! The food stops were all delicious, and the information he shared about the area was great. The tour starts with the most wonderful views and the tastiest cookie! We did not get to see the garden, but Brian made up for that with an extra special treat at Annabell's! The other stops were also fantastic. The smash burger was so good, and don't sleep on the fries! The pop up bar had a fun vibe & the ice cream shop was excellent! Our group of 4 enjoyed the casual nature of the tour and loved the conversations we shared with Brian during our tour. He gave us great tips on other things to do/see during our visit and made sure we knew how to get back to the train after our tour concluded. 10/10 would book this tour again.
fun adventure through some very interesting parts of Vancouver. I was great seeing all these hidden gems that only the local know.
I took the tour as a culinary introduction to Vancouver on my first day arriving to the city. Brian is so knowledgeable and a caring person. The tour was only him and I which made it seem private which I enjoyed and he tailored to my likes. Even though I don’t like heights I enjoyed the view from the high rise building and learning about the history of the city. I also enjoyed going to the Chinese garden, a zen place in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. Now onto the food… each stop was amazing. First stop, coffee and a specialty cookie. Which I still think about. Next stop, a smash burger and fries that are to die for. Finally, ice cream that I will gladly travel to. Overall, the tour is great and it’s a must do whenever in Vancouver. Thank you for a great time Brian!!!
Brian was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about Vancouver and the favorites of the locals. He took us to see a beautiful view of the city and we enjoyed a delicious specialty cookie, a smash burger that was to die for, and delicious ice cream (we don’t drink, so we didn’t partake of any alcohol that would have otherwise been part of the experience). Brian tailored our tour for us, even noticing that I kept adoring all the dogs we passed by and deciding to take us to a nearby dog park to enjoy watching the pups play. It was just such a great experience that I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
First time to Vancouver and traveling solo. Took a chance on this tour and was so happy I did! Brian took us away from the crowds and introduced us to some of the best coffee I'd ever had, unique bakery items such as popcorn marshmallow chocolate chip cookies, blackberry ice cream, and local brews along the way. He gave some local restaurant recommendations, and they were awesome! Along the tour, got to go to a rooftop to experience panoramic views of downtown and the harbor, and stroll along the water. The tour was a small group, and he was able to customize it to the interests of the group. Super easy walk with plenty of stops to soak up the local vibes and get some cool info on the city and its history. This tour would be fantastic for locals and visitors alike! Definitely recommend!
Brian is so much fun & really knows the unique places to go. Even on a rainy cool day we thoroughly enjoyed our walk talk & eats. Highly recommend!
This was such a fun, interactive and delicious way to see a (surprisingly) large part of Downtown Vancouver! I made a very last minute booking with Brian (2 hrs. before start time) and he was so kind to accommodate me as his only tour guest. Not only did we see parts of the city I would have NEVER have had access to on my own, but we had such great conversation and some of the tastiest local food & drinks I've tasted in any of the cities I've visited. We started with a fantastic cookie from his favorite coffee shop, then on to the rooftop of a local high-rise to get unparalleled views of the city and its history. Then we were off to a food truck turned brick & mortar smash burger spot (cheeseburger, fries and a beer), then a walk across Gastown to a pop-up bar for a local craft cider, and finally a water bus ride over to Olympic Village where I had the best cookies & creme ice cream OF MY LIFE! The tour had great structure but also elements of "choose your own adventure." Brian kindly made so many great recommendations for future food and drink spots, then got me settled on a city e-bike and navigated me to a local spot for a pint and phenomenal sunset viewing. KILLER DAY, with a GREAT city bike ride to top it off- would do this tour (or any of his others) again in a heartbeat!
The chocolate chip cookies were great and the ice cream was spectacular. It helps to understand Vancouver by walking it with a local. Brian gave a great tour
Brian is an awesome guide! His company Local Eats Food and Drinks: Vancouver and the tour we did ‘Local Taste Trail’ was so much fun. All of the stops we made were delicious and there was the right amount of time spent at each stop. Would highly recommend!
One word: wow! I have lived in Vancouver for almost 4 years, and while there are some really great restaurants in the city, there are also some that are just ok. This tour eschews mediocrity and shows you the best-kept-secrets of the city - if you are someone who loves delicious food and drinks, then this tour is for you. Local Eats Food and Drinks: Vancouver's tour took us to some hidden gems in Gastown and Chinatown, and a couple familiar favourites along False Creek and Olympic Village. There was a well planned amount of food (no one went hungry, but we weren't too full either), and while there was some walking, the stops are well paced so we got lots of time to sit and enjoy our food or rest our feet during the tour. And the views from the seawall were gorgeous! Our guide Brian was knowledgeable and clearly a foodie himself! He answered all of our questions and was a really charismatic tour guide. I hope they launch more tours, I would sign up for another one without hesitation.
If you're looking for a way to truly savor Vancouver like a local, Brian's secret food walking tour is an absolute must. This tour isn't just about sampling street food—it's about immersing yourself in the heart and soul of the city's culinary scene while soaking in some of Vancouver's most iconic views. The journey takes you through vibrant neighborhoods like Gastown, Olympic Village, and the International District. Each stop on the tour offers a taste of something uniquely Vancouver: from savory street food that bursts with flavor to the scenic beauty that surrounds you at every turn. The highlight, for me, was the Aquabus ride—a delightful surprise that added a splash of adventure to an already amazing day. One of the best aspects of this tour is its intimate nature. With only a few participants, it felt like a private exploration of the city’s best-kept secrets. Brian’s deep appreciation for food and culture shines through in every stop and story, making you feel more like a local discovering new haunts than a tourist ticking off a checklist. If you’re a food lover looking for a unique experience that combines mouthwatering bites with a genuine feel for Vancouver’s culture, this is the tour for you. Whether it’s the stunning views or the savory treats, every moment is a reminder of why Vancouver is a foodie's paradise.
