This was one of the best food tours I have done. It was a very small group. Our guide, Michael, arrived early and was very organized. He was a very engaging communicator and gave us a lot of background about the location, the history, the merchants, the process and ingredients of the foods. At each stop, he had prearranged with the vendor to have trays of food samples ready for us. One of the group had food restrictions and these were honoured throughout, and a substitute dish was provided. The variety of foods we tried was excellent and several of the vendors offered discounts to tour participants who returned to purchase their wares.

This was a fun and exciting way to learn more about Granville Island! Mu was a great host, and all the food was tasty. Everyone in my group was friendly as well. Lots of standing and the market is quite crowded (both good things!) so be aware!
I can't imagine experiencing Granville any other way! We tried some of the best food I've ever had and learned so much about the local food and history of Vancouver. Lydia was an incredibly knowledgeable and fun tour guide! Her culinary background brought an added layer to this tour that made it a incredibly unique experience. I highly recommend this tour it was a great value for the amount and quality of the food that we got. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Vancouver!
Good very good best fun🍁🇨🇦
This was an amazing way to see what the Granville Public Market had to offer. My tour operator Mu was a phenomenal guide. You could tell that he was passionate about the food and the history of the island. Mu made sure that we didn't get lost in the busy Saturday morning crowds and made an effort to check-in and chat one-on-one with each guest at some point during the tour (ours was small only 5 people). The rapport he had with the numerous vendors also reflected how respected this tour is in the public market. The variety of food was awesome, from savory to sweet there was something for everyone. We even had two beverage stops. I also loved how the nametag for the tour got you a discount at the vendors we visited (and even some that we didn't). This is a must do if you are ever in Vancouver!
This tour was so much fun! Be prepared to try the best Granville Island has to offer. You will be full, but filled with great spots to return to and take goodies home. Mu was our guide. He made this tour the highlight of our Vancouver trip.
This was so fun to do and enjoyed my time although I had gone alone. Would definitely like to experience this again with my friends or family! Kudos to the guide for being fantastic
This was a great value. Save your bread samples unless you want to taste meat & fish without it. Several of the vendor tastings are free to anyone, but many people wouldn't know and would just need to ask every vendor. So it was great having a person to lead us from one vendor to another, but know that some tastings are free to everyone.
Everything was top notch. Michael made our experience extra special with lots of stories and the tastings were plentiful and delicious.
Mu was an excellent tour guide - pleasant, knowledgeable and a perfect host. The tastings were delicious. All in all, time well spent and tasty!
This tour is a great way to learn more about Granville Market and get to taste a variety of foods. Our tour guide, Mu, was absolutely awesome. He was enthusiastic, energetic and really wanted to share his knowledge and make sure he was meeting the expectations of each person on the tour. I was very pleased with the tour.
Mu gave us a wonderful tour of many varieties of food stalls in the public market. He educated us about each stall and the food, how it’s made, and how the owners were inspired. We appreciated learning about the indigenous people’s story of Granville Island. Would highly recommend if you want an intimate look at this amazing place and try some yummy bites!
Great food tour! Tons of tastings with great variety. Pleasantly surprised by the number of booths we visited and learned about. Our guide, Nolan was knowledgeable and entertaining.
A wonderful time with Mu on Friday 18/9/26 showing us the sights, smells and wonderful tastes of the Public Matket . Well worth the time and cost a great way to experience a very busy market with local knowledge- the Thai food taster was so good we enticed back the next day for lunch. Thanks Mu.
Nolan really made this tour extremely special with his first hand historic knowledge of Vancover and Granville Island and then each tasting with the background of each owner(s). The tastings were all great with a good sampling of savory and sweet. Highly recommend this tour!
We had the opportunity to taste a variety of different locally sourced foods. Everything was delicious. Our guide, Nolan was also a foodie and loves to cook. He had an amazing knowledge of each place we stopped. He knew the history of each vendor and knew every ingredient and how each one was created. He also gave a brief overview on the history of Granville Market. We really enjoyed the afternoon and it was a small enough group to be able to meet interesting people from all over the world.
Four of us went on the foodie tour with Maggie. Its was an excellent tour with great food choices and Maggie was very knowledgeable and friendly. We visited about nine artisan food stands with a good mixture of styles and flavours. Two hours we'll spent.
There were lots of areas for improvements on this tour. The meeting location was the first snafu. Our confirmation indicated a flower shop in the market when the meeting place was actually outside the market. The guide should have had a flag so that she could easily be seen as we moved in and out of the crowded market. Yes, moved in and out of the very crowded market. I would have preferred being seated at a table outside while the guide gathered the bites. It would have been ideal to have two guides one gathering the bites while the other gave details of the bites. There were lots of bites. Literally bites! Not enough to justify the cost of the tour $120++ per person!! We did not meet ANY chefs or get info and tips on the Vancouver foodie scene. I would not recommend this tour and don’t know if I would book one of the other tours offered by this vendor.
Our tour guide, Michael, was knowledgeable about the food, vendors, local history and culture which made it such an immersive experience. Every bite we sampled was absolutely delicious 😋! It was an awesome way to taste our way through the public market. We even received some recommendations for other things to do and see and try in the surrounding area. Definitely would recommend!
Maggie was great! So personable and informative. The food was delicious and we purchased from almost every vendor once it was over. The market is such a fun place with a cool history. The food tour did not disappoint !
Everything about this was excellent. Booking was done online through GetYourGuide and very straightforward. Joining instructions were clear and simple. The meeting point was easy to find. Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable and very engaging and delivered an incredibly enjoyable experience. There was ample food to taste which was of an exceptional high quality and generous in quantity. It is worth being diligent with any dietary preferences as, with advance notice, they can arrange to manage these. It was an excellent 2 hours and Michael deserves a big thank you.
One of the best food tours I have ever had. Food sampling selection was excellent. Our guide Micheal did great job taking about history of Vancouver, Granville Island, vendors, and ingredients.
We noted that the same tour was less expensive when booked with TripAdvisor (vs Viator), so that was good. Granville Island is quite congested, so give yourself plenty of time to arrive and get adjusted. Our guide, Mu, was outstanding - very knowledgeable about the vendors and kind. The food samplings were excellent and we had a great time!
Michael took the 13 of us through a fantastic and varied group of food places in the public market on Granville Island. It was organized and best of all my friend who needs to be gluten-free. Had alternatives at each stop. Michael was informative and empathetic and we got the background of the whole area as well as each owner of the small businesses we had samples from. I highly recommend this food tour.
I've been on a lot of food tours. This provided a taste of the market without leaving me stuffed half way through. We had bread, cheese, meet, fish, Thai, lemon bars, chocolate, macrons, and donuts as well as tea and coffee. Well worth the money. Mu was an excellent guide.
An excellent tour with an excellent tour guide. The explanations were very helpful and the samples were very good. The tour guide had a great knowledge of the vendors at which we stopped.
Lydia was terrific. Very informative and so many tasty food stops. I'd recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys food and fun.
Our tour was highly informative and interesting. Our tour guide Mu had great energy. He was extremely knowledgeable about the market. It was a delightful and engaging experience! The food was great as was our host, Mu as well as the other travelers. Definitely recommend.
We received complimentary tickets but thought the tour would be a fun way to try a wide range of local produce. We were not disappointed and our host (Michael) was excellent. As well as inviting us to try all offerings, he respected anyone who wished to decline some foods. He knew his products and was passionate about each. The foods were thoughtfully presented as if part of a planned meal and quantities were appropriate. I especially enjoyed hearing the background histories of the makers and their produce. The group of 10 participants worked well. Highly recommended.
Come hungry! It's a lot of food! Lydia was fantastic and ads to the experience of tasting and imagining ingredients into your own day to day. We thoroughly enjoyed it! We bought snacks to sustain us through our hikes through Banff and it was such a great way to tie in the entire Canadian experience!
This food tour of Granville Market was great! We got to sample so many different kinds of food from a variety of local vendors. Mu was a great guide, curating a delectable progression of flavors and telling us their stories and the story of Granville Island itself. His enthusiasm was infectious. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit Granville Market. We would have been overwhelmed on our own, but feel we got treated to the best possible experience. Also, we later returned to a couple of our favorite vendors to buy more and got 10% off with our foodie tour name tags.
Great fun, wonderful food, excellent guide (Michael), highly recommend!
VIP Granville Island Market Walking Food Tour We had a party of Eight family members and this food tour was excellent. We had a great Sandra as our food tour and she was excellent. We sampled many different items throughout the market. What made it great was Sandra always moved us to a place where we all could hear her when she spoke about the food and history of the market. Samples of meat, seafood, pickles, bread, cheese and much more. Our group enjoyed the mixture of food and beverages and definitely did not need lunch after. Will need to return to go to some additional places in the market for lunch. (Chicken Pot Pie, sandwich places and soups). Sandra our tour was wonderful!!!! Thank-you!!
Sandra’s tour of the market was fabulous. We tasted and tasted our way! Sweets and savory!! Great way to spend our afternoon.
The knowledge of our guide & the selection of food was wonderful! The history of each stop was informative as well as the history of the area.
Absolutely loved everything about this tour. Michael was a fantastic tour guide and true foodie. He was informative and easy going. We had a great time!
Beautiful market and fun tour with eclectic food tasting. Sandra is a local and shared a lot of information about the Vancouver atea.
Our whale watching trip was cancelled and we were left looking for other options. With very little hope for success, we reached out to Vancouver Foodie Tours on very short notice. They got right back to us and were able to set up a private tour with only a couple of hours notice. That alone would have been enough for a great review. But our guide, Mu, put the experience over the top. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient even with our group of very different palates. He took his time and explained everything perfectly, and left us with a great working knowledge of the market. We highly recommend Vancouver Foodie Tours and especially Mu.
This tour was wonderfully planned. Maggie essentially created a perfect charcuterie board of delicious local eats. Every bite along the way had a special story and a small business owner behind it. Maggie was knowledgeable about the market and friendly with all of the vendors. Because of the beautiful day, we were able to enjoy most of the samples outside which gave us the idea to take the ferry back to our hotel instead of struggling with finding a Lyft!
Amazing afternoon! Mu was a fantastic guide who not only took us to the best places in the market but also told us the history of everywhere we visited! Definitely worth an afternoon while visiting Vancouver’s Granville Island!
This was a terrific experience. Our tour guide was Mu, who did a wonderful job giving us details of the food we were eating, the people behind the companies and about Granville Island itself. He also gave us a cheat sheet of all the food we tried so we could go back and buy more with a 10% discount if we wanted. He chose a great variety of savory and sweet foods, from different food groups and regions for us to try, and everything by was outstanding. He also did a lovely job accommodating our dietary needs, and even arranged for us to have alternative samples at certain stops so we wouldn’t be left out. This was a terrific experience, very worth the money. We got plenty of food, but were never so full that we couldn’t try the next thing. The sample sizes were very satisfying.
Great tour, amazing food and incredibly knowledgeable guide! Michael not only knew the food but was also very kind on a day that was more chaotic than usual because of the Holiday Perhaps a more obvious meeting spot would be helpful as another party and us were waiting on the inside of the Plant Shop and group was gathered outside
The tour was excellent! Our guide was Michael and he was knowledgeable about the market, the vendors, and the food. We had a great variety of food to taste and you left feeling satisfied 😋
Great tour- thank you Michael. Fab place to go and a brilliant way to see and taste the market.
Great time with Maggie on a great day
We took the Vancouver Foodie Tour of Granville Market and were so glad we did. The market is amazing and also a bit overwhelming. The communication was great and instructions clear for where to meet our tour guide. We had skip the line samplings at so many popular vendors. We sampled lemonade tea, a selection of breads, cheeses, meats, fish, sweets, the famous Lee’s donuts, and even some Thai noodles. We enjoyed the variety of foods, were totally full after, and our guide Mu was terrific explaining everything and navigating the very busy market. We also received a 10% discount at the businesses we visited. Definitely recommend!
Maggie was great . Great food . And I am a lawyer and not easy to please. Very knowledgeable a perfect pace
Many, many samples from some of the top vendors in the market. We especially liked how Alicia sequenced the samples so our tastebuds weren’t overwhelmed by one type of food.
Wonderful experience trying several different foods throughout the market. Sharon was very informative and a great tour guide. Good value for the money. Over ten stops and samples.
We do a lot of food tours, and this was exceptional, for two reasons: our guide (Mu) was interesting, clear and engaged; and the tour (helped by the fact it was in a market) was able to offer lots of small tastings instead of three or four more substantial offerings. Full marks.
