Depending on the time of year, it’s quite cool on the water. We went in October. You can’t overdress. Loved being on the water. Captain Cesar did an amazing job!

Beautiful way to see all of Vancouver. The boat was fun and fast. Would definitely be way too cold in regular clothes (I went in late October), but they give you a warm suit to wear and I wasn't chilly at all. The seals were cute. Pro-tip: check the estimated tide levels when booking. I think there are more seals at low tide.
Just splendid! I took my elder parent and they were scared to death but the tour guide made it super comfy, safe and fun. The girl at the counter was sweet and took our pictures , watched our stuff while we went off. What we didn't know is that it includes heavy water suit. Highly recommended bc it's not long like the other tours , a perfect last minute water ride.
Fun water tour. Boat goes fast so don't expect a slow meandering cruise. They do offer insulated gear which was nice. It does get cold out on the water.
Amazing tour! The boat is open, you will receive special clothes to keep you warm while sailing. The seats are comfortable, the sail is quite (quite engine), lovely guide and very knowledgeable. The tour is not just for seals sight, but also for historical sites in Vancouver bay. Duration is jusr right (1.5 hours).
When we first arrived we were a little unsure. Everyone was in serious one piece water suits. What in the heck did we get ourselves into? But it was a lot of fun. My husband and I get sea sick so we were a little worried at first. The water was calm, the sky was clear and our driver/guide was fabulous. They also give you coupons for a free lager to Vancouver Seafood which I would recommend for lunch.
This boat trip was educational and exciting. Rather than just slowly cruising around seeing the sights, our captain, Sam, made our boat tip a lot of fun.
What a great experience! The city tour is nice and informative but I was there for the critters. And we were lucky enough to see lots of wildlife. In addition to adorable seals and their babies, we saw bald Eagle and TWO WHALES!! Markem, the 'whale whisperer', was a fantastic captain and guide. He made it fun and informative, adding music and "donuts" ( not the edible kind!) Well worth it, JUST DO IT !!
Amazing! We even saw whales and seals from far ! The guide was so nice and knowledgeable! The location is great
Teagan was the best guide!! Very smart, vibrant, informative and fun! She even took us right to some sea lions swimming near the seal colony!! What a day. The temp was great with no bulky suit on this sunny day in Vancouver Cougar Bay. The only thing cold was my face on the return! So take a secure hat or scarf. Great fun and scenic way to view the city from the bay.
Sam was very informative, fun on the water, loved playing with the boat. The group was fun, loud, and the more we giggled, Sam would give us something to giggle about. The Seal Rock was awesome because lots of Seal pups. So cute! The landscape was absolutely stunning and Sam was knowledgeable about his town. Fun trip
A fun unexpected ride! Loved seeing the seals.
Nice tour - would recommend to friends. Captain Ray explained some history of Vancouver as well as stopped several times for photos or when he spotted wildlife: seals and small dolphins.
Excellent 90 minute cruise! Our guide Marco did not disappoint with his knowledge of wildlife, architecture and landmarks. Highlight was seeing harbor seals and humpback whales!
Enjoyed our boat tour. Nice to go around and see city and seals. Captain Sam was so nice. Liked the boat ride. Would recommend
Teagan was an awesome captain! Her love for Vancouver was infectious and made our tour even better!
Great way to spend part of the day on the water. Would have been great to be on the water longer as the 1.5 hours includes time getting ready to get on the boat so you are much shorter on the water
Our guide was Dani and she was great ! This was a last minute pivot from a different chosen and what a great ride it was !
This was definitely an experience worth going to! Saw baby seals, purple starfish, schools of fish, and even a sea lion decided to pop his head up near the boat. All very cool. Captain Alec was funny and knowledgeable! Would recommend!
This was a great excursion exploring the Vancouver coastline. Our guide, Teagan, was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun! The highlight was seeing the seal colony and of course, doing donuts in our watercraft on the way back to shore.
It was a BEAUTIFUL morning to boat ride & see the city from the water & view the seal colony. Female boat driver named Danni was a great guide & knowledgeable about history of what we saw. Lasted 1.5 hrs & that was perfect! We would do again! Granville Island area is very interesting shopping/dining area too…
We went on a windy day, so the ride was very choppy and bumpy. We weren’t expecting that but still had a great time. It was great to go out and see the lighthouse and the seals, but I was expecting to see more of the city line up close. There were long periods where we were just riding really fast on the English Bay, which might be your thing, but I prefer a slower, relaxing boat ride.
A great way to see another view of Vancouver. Marco, our guide was very informative. And the seals, were wonderful to see. Only recommendation is spend more time watching the seals than looking at fancy houses, we chose this tour for the seals.
Captain Sam was the best! He did a great job describing what we were seeing and excellent at handling the boat in deep and shallow water. My husband and I had a great time!
Absolutely a must! Our guide Greg was exceptional and very knowledgeable. A magnificent way to absorb all of Vancouver from an ocean perspective
Informative, both about the history of Vancouver and the local ecology-- we had a blast, and not just from the seafoam. Shout out to Greg for being a great guide!
We had a wonderful 90 minute tour with Sam, our guide. Lots of interesting information, safety guidance and fun! Sam did a great job-he was interesting and funny and made us all feel really comfortable. The ride was a lot of fun and it was so lovely seeing lots of seals including mums and pups. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our tour. Our tour guide Simon was knowledgeable and made it a very fun experience.
We took the sunset cruise. Marco was our guide and he was knowledgeable, fun and a great captain. The weather was perfect we saw seals, bald eagles and beautiful sunset. Highly recommend.
Staff was friendly, professional and thorough. The boat ride was amazing! My kids were thrilled with the experience.
A really fun ride and with our brilliant guide Amy - highly recommend! We were lucky enough to see a few seals and some bald eagles
Captain James was great - 100%
The tour was great! The boat was a lot of fun, the guides were knowledgeable and funny. We got to see the seals too which was a win!
Fun ride, in a quick boat! Our tour guide was great (Cesar or Cisa?). Highly recommend it. On our trip the water was very calm and we did not get wet at all. They do provide water suits when needed.
Marco was the best guide! You can tell he really has a love for his job and the city. The boat ride was really fun, got a little wet. We saw seals both in the harbor and out in the bay. This ride was my son’s only request on our trip, and it really delivered.
Excellent tour really will recommend it to people who come. The boat goes very fast which was fun and I think 1.5 hours is the perfect amount of time .
Unfortunately we didn’t get to do the seal tour because of how rough the water was but Megan took us on a harbour tour instead. Talking about the city’s history. We luckily managed to see one seal early on so ticked that off. With not being able to do a seal tour Megan did take us out on the waves and we all had a good laugh speeding around getting soaked. The dry suits provided definitely helped
Though one signs a waiver there is nothing that indicates you're essentially riding what feels like a roller coaster through the waves of English Bay. Most people enjoy the speed and flying out of one's seat sensation. I don't. And one should be careful with a bad back. Far be it from me to get in anyone's way but I wanted to at least tell what the "sightseeing" tour is . Boat captain was very good. Offered an in-depth summary of the places we stopped. Never saw the seal island because the water was too choppy. Plenty of salt water which is why protective gear is supplied.
A fast and bumpy but brilliant ride! Wear the waterproof suit as you do get quite wet. The seals were cute.
Super fun tour! Informative and exciting! James was a great tour guide! Highly recommend this to visitors.
Paul was an amazing guide! Really loved the experience!!! The boat was comfortable and the tour was well planned
Got to see all the popular spots, seals and porpoises. Indulged in some history of Vancouver. All in all a great tour. Thank you Chris!
This was a fun and different way to see the city from the water on a “speed raft”. You may get a little wet (they have suits you can wear!). If you don’t like boats or get motion sickness, this may not be for you. My teenage son enjoyed it so much, he wanted their tour sweatshirt!
Our Uber driver got stuck in traffic so it too way longer than expected and we were supposed to check in 30 mins prior to our tour and they waited for us but for everyone else suited up and on the boat and we followed quickly once we got there. They were all so awesome we stayed in contact by phone to let them know we got stuck in heavy traffic. They were all so kind and our tour guide Captain was awesome and funny! 10+
Fortunately, they provide suits to wear over your clothes because we got really wet. We also had some really rough seas on our morning, so you could have a bumpy ride.
We had the best time on our scenic boat tour! Everyone in our party (ranging in age from 33 to 74) loved the experience. Our guide, Captain Ray was entertaining, knowledgable and very professional. I highly recommend the Vancouver City and Seal Colony Boat Tour...make sure that you request Captain Ray!
Enjoyed a great day out, Megan was wonderful, informative and full of knowledge. The only downfall was that at the front it was difficult to hear Meagan front the front. Maybe some speakers would have helped.
Wonderful excursion with an equally wonderful guide.
The whole experience from arrival to departure was excellent! I got to see plenty of seals in their natural environment and also a couple of whales too
Captain Ray was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this boat tour. Got to see some seals and learn such cool things. Definitely going to be back!
