It was a difficult climb with elevated stairs that also had poor lit trails that had many tripping hazards with protruding tree roots, exposed rocks. I am 75 and would not do this experience again. Only the last third of the route was worth it with more mini lights and holograms

Reviews
Vallea Lumina exceeded my expectations. It was magical to walk through the forest after dark in search of the stardust valley. Beautiful lights and projections make it a very special journey! Highly recommend!
Overall it was a fun experience. There was a bit of a hike up a hill and back down with little light at times so watch your step. My only feedback for improvement would be the reservation system, I found it quite confusing. I booked the ticket and chose bus transpiration. The tick was issued and showed bus pick up time and location at the top of the reservation. I happened to call with a question and they told me I had not booked the bus as the ticket said I needed to call to book. I looked at the reservation again and saw bus booked with pickup time at the top and you need to phone to book the bus at the bottom.
I really enjoyed this! Had a great time. Went on a chilly October evening and had a great time. I can tell that a lot of love and work was put into this. The sound system is amazing. The hot chocolate is fantastic! Thank you for the fun!
We gave this experience a go and it was really special. The lighting is very clever. The story although a little confusing is sweet and not too serious. A relaxing thing to do in the evening.
Was not prepared for the vigorous nighttime hike with dim lighting - as a result it took me twice a long to complete the course . operator needs to spell this out to me customers PRIOR to booking -
It was so much more then expected. Absolutely beautiful.
Absolutely loved this show. The lights & theatrics are spectacular. You must have good footing tho & be able to walk up down some steep timber steps as it’s quite dark & your walking on forest ground. But well worth it
A magical experience for any age! The night hike is amazing and all the goodies and games make a perfect ending. This is our second time here and will be back again 😊
Amazing immersive experience. Quite hilly at the start for. Older people or. Kids loved the smores and hot choc
Great experience, lovely place with lovely staff, credits to the girl who served us Holly she was great
It was not informed enough that it's a hard walk uphill and down with hundreds of stairs and not many places to sit. You need to be in very good physical shape to do the trail in the hour they give you. Thankfully there is not much to see. The one in NB has so many stations to stop and watch you stay for 1-3 viewings. There is no comparison. I wouldn't come back.
Fantastic experience in the late evening. It starts off small but every turn you get a new treat light or sound. The children found it amazing and it is something special to walk in the forest by night. A must do tour. The shuttle is easy but times are not always accurate.
The Vallee Lumina experience was one of the pre-booked activities we were most looking forward to and I have to say it probably exceeded all of our expectations. Wasn't strenuous even for the 9 year old in our group and because of the way the spectacular elements were spaced out it seemed very well paced and calming. Highly recommend this experience for anyone of any age, looking for childlike wonder in gorgeous surroundings. It's not cheap, but so worth it!!
This was a magical experience for the kids at night. The lights and music were super cool and it wasn't creepy at all walking in the forest at night. The kids really enjoyed it.
Valle Lumina was a very fun and cute adventure!
It was so cool!! The forest was magical. There are a lot of stairs throughout the experience but doable. We loved the "base camp" and staff too. We highly recommend and would bring friends to do it again!
A genuine winter wonderland experience, a great way to spend the evening outdoors.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. The website is highly misleading. While framed as an immersive forest walk, it actually tells a story of abduction of a grandfather and his granddaughter. We brought our children anticipating an impressive light show as one sees from the website as well as marketing videos, but the creepy sounds, haunting storyline, and frankly short experience (< 30 minutes) made for something that meaningfully varied from expectations. It left our kids (4 year old and 6 year old) terrified. Worse yet, I reached out The Adventure Group to express concern and frustration and they didn’t even write back. This wasn’t that surprising after we watched major mishaps with some of the groups trying to attend the show the night we were going. They don’t seem to have their stuff together, and the marketing of this experience felt intentionally misleading to extract money from patrons.
Both of our kids really enjoy walking around and looking at all the lights and shows. The music was great as well. They can’t wait to come back again
This experience is incredible. Awesome beautiful lights everywhere you look and holograms make this one of the most incredible light shows I’ve ever seen. You don’t want to leave……. I wanna live here.. 🥰 The running river with the salmon was amazing. I felt about this like the first time I saw Cirque du Soleil.….. pioneering.
As a Senior couple we found several issues. The shuttle location was hard to find (no directions to the location). The trail description is inaccurate for summer as there are multiple stairs with poor railings (slippery wood or loose rope rails). The inclines were quite steep and sometimes in places slippery. Fall hazards are numerous (we used a flashlight for our safety). The theme is magical and visual effects are meaningful, but this tour is best left to the more physically able (245 stairsteps!
Magical ! I loved it ! Very creative and engaging, entertaining story the lights were amazing ! Enjoyed the hot chocolate too !
My husband and I booked this while we visited Whistler last week. I had read reviews and even though there were remarks about the terrain and the steps, we were quite surprised to find the paths with loose big rocks, poorly lite and A LOT of stairs. The walk actually took away from the enjoyment of the lights and story because we were afraid of twisting an ankle. The guide at the beginning gave a half hearted story telling. Told we would see guides along the way and saw 1 at the beginning..
If you are staying in the area for a few days, this is definitely the way to spend an evening. We weren’t sure what to expect as we were really only going off others reviews but it was definitely a must-do. You will have a small wait and then be on your way to discovering something very unique and unlike anything you’ve seen before. I don’t want to give it away but it’s a sensory experience that most will enjoy. Bear in mind that it’s not wheelchair friendly and will not suit those who find climbing stairs challenging. It is however, simply delightful and I think everyone else should give it a go.
We had an amazing time at Vallea Lumina, our 3 year old loved it! Vedant took some really good pictures at the end of trail. Everyone who visit whistler must check out this place!
Just wanted to pass on our recent experience attending the show on Tuesday Sept 2/25. We have been to this show years ago when it first started and thought is was an outstanding event. this years, Not so Much. It seems it is a lot longer than our previous visit with many new stairs added that made it seem like a marathone for the physically fit. It seemed like more of a workout than a visual adventure. The lighting on the walks should be made brighter to avoid any accidents, we were constantly watching where our feet landed. Our walk was between the lanterns with little to get excited about during the walk. Previous years was awesome, more interesting and more visual
Fantastic experience one we wont forget . Beautiful show. Loved every minute of it and would do it again
Amazing experience, I don’t expect there has a story line that I can enjoy on it. Staff was helpful, especially Jens, he is so funny and nice.
The effects were really wonderful! A truly magical experience! The only downside for me was the amount of stairs involved. We also noticed a lot of people racing through the experience, despite being told to take it slowly at the beginning, so you didn’t miss anything.
It’s just a trail on a mountain where they use projectors to show lights or singing scenes. You’re supposed to find clues??? No one does and it’s time to go back home. The country side atmosphere is nice though.
Well worth it! Be prepared there are a lot of steps. We loved it. My daughter thought it was the best part of our visit to Whistler. Unique experience.
It was a wonderful enchanted forest walk. The virtual components were pretty fabulous. It’s a true story when they say there is an uphill climb and stairs but it’s worth it :)) The trail was pretty dark in some parts and we needed to use our phone flashlights for safety.
What a fun nighttime walk through the enchanted forest to solve the mystery of the missing hikers. The forest was magical with all the special effects. The Adventure Group let us move our night when our car got towed in Whistler the night we were to attend. It was very kind of them. Would highly recommend this fun family activity.
Read some negative reviews about the Shuttle. Just wanted to say that we didn’t see anything negative on our trip. Driver Len was very knowledgeable and polite. Bus left on time with all persons aboard. Ride was great. Pick up and drop off was as arranged with no issues at all. Well Done!! Thanks
Wonderful!! It was exciting and always felt safe!! Max and Mason were both great coaches on how to do everything. We loved it!!
Such an amazing light show! Went with my nephew and niece and they loved it Miya was great- super friendly, took great pics for us and helped answer all our questions ! Would recommend this experience to any family
Absolutely MAGICAL!! Strongly recommend experiencing it with your family! Very beautiful way of telling a story… our entire family (adults and kids) enjoyed it equally!
Lots of stairs to climb with rough uneven gravel for a senior citizen. However, worth the climb. Story told beautifully with beautiful light displays. Loved it.
What an evening! So meaningful and special being in the woods surrounded by the huge trees. It was a beautiful enchanting experience.
Had a great time at Vallea Lumina this evening! Aoife and Miya were very helpful in the cafe providing yummy marshmallow sticks! Would recommend to a friend!
Came second time here, same wonderful experience wife and son loved it. Must visit if you're in Whistler
This experience was absolutely amazing and definitely one to remember! The only reason we’re giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to a hiccup with the shuttle. When we called ahead, we were told it was first come, first served, but a large tour group that arrived after us was given priority and filled the entire bus, so we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. While that was a bit frustrating, once we arrived, everything else was fantastic and truly made up for it.
Valley Lumina was the most magical experience! The tour is so well made and magical, all details are really well thought through and it feels like a place out of this world! The ranger, I think her name was Mia, gave us a very authentic experience by setting the scene with the story before we entered the valley, she really leant into the story as if it was real which made it feel more exciting for us, it's hard to know what's going on if they don't tell you a story before, so this was a great touch!
Best experience in Canada so far. Harrison, our photographer was extremely nice and understanding with my kids and their numerous requests. Mia, our bus guide, was also extremely helpful in securing our shuttle seats.
Beautiful experience. Truly unforgettable. Ellie, Matt & Alice helped us make the most of the experience. Thank you. Would highly recommend!
Amazing experience well worth it. If you are visiting whistler be sure to make this stop a priority! Thank you so much Amber and George for the great service and an awesome night!
Loved the experience. It was magical walking through the woods with the beautiful light show and music. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Magical experience! Teens 18, 16, and 14 all loved it. The lighting and sounds are unlike anything we’ve ever seen. We loved every minutes. Dress warmly if you’re going in winter.
We really enjoyed this walk through the woods - a fantastic light and sound show. My husband is particularly into music and commented very positively about the high quality immersive sound effects. The trail is easily walked with only a few steps near the end. Suitable for all ages. The only downside is that we found it quite short! We would have loved the experience to last even longer.
