What an experience! Our first time diving in B.C., and will not be the last. Sea Dragon Charters was exceptional, from the dive shop staff ensuring were geared up properly, to the Topline crew (Skylar, Darrin, Tessa) who were experienced and friendly. A great day on the water in Howe Sound. We can't wait to come back for another trip!

Sea Dragon and our guide Darrin were absolutely amazing! Can't recommend either enough! Sea dragon called ahead of time after reviewing our dive experience and made recommendations that greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the dive. Darrin was knowledgeable not only of diving, but also of the local area. He showed us how to track and find giant pacific octopus, checking off a lifetime goal for me and my partner while also making us feel pretty cool. Travelers would be hard pressed to find a better experience in the area!

Kevin and Brian are fantastic, super friendly place, especially if you’re not used to Coldwater diving they went above and beyond to make sure it was comfortable. Loved getting to dive to the Annapolis. Jade, our divemaster, was really easygoing, and also appropriately cautious. Would be happy to dive with her again. Kevin seemed to be running things on the boat and he was terrific helping to get me up to speed after a long absence from diving (My last dive was pre-Covid). Definitely recommend this place (especially for experienced divers) and I hope to go back soon.

The review is average for a very specific reason- and it may not apply to most. But it might apply to some of you so here we go. I've been here a few times for trips and just gear rentals and overall the experience has been pretty good. People are nice enough, knowledgeable and accommodating. Prices are what they are- the rental equipment is great quality... If you want to dive around Howe Sound and don't care where you're going then no question this is probably the outfit you will be happy with. Skippers and dive masters I've had- no complaints at all. Top tier all. Without getting into the whole story if you want to go to a specific place then make sure the boat is going to go to the place before you commit to paying and getting on the boat. I've been out with them a couple times now and both times you're pretty much on the boat and leaving when there's a poll to determine where you're going. There's pretty much no going back. Most people are just happy to be diving the west coast and that's great. You'll be pleased- the skippers and dive masters know the sites, are professional and ready to help you. But for those of you looking to go to specific locations... it's pretty disappointing. Actually- it's really disappointing. The last two times I've gone out I asked specifically for one place and the first time around I got told on the phone "Oh yeah try Thursday or Saturday." Showed up Saturday "Oh no, we just went there yesterday (Friday). We're going to this other place today." Last time it was basically just the skipper looking at a group of local regulars "I imagine you don't want to go to THIS place today?" (the place I wanted to go). "NO!" so we went to look at something else. It was soul crushing (so I'm probably making a bigger deal out of it than I should). And I understand it probably just needs to be like this to make it profitable... but if you want a SPECIFIC site you need to know this is what to expect before you've paid and you're on the boat leaving dock with no option to opt out.

This was my first time to Horseshoe Bay for scuba diving. Sea Dragon came highly recommended by my dive buddies so I booked two days of diving. Both times, the crew and Dive Master were very professional and ensured that the briefing was understood. Refreshments were offered during our surface interval and the ride there and back was simply amazing! I will definitely book with them again when I return!

We keep coming back for more! The crew is always great. They are a lot of fun and give the best advise how to get most out of each dive site. This time we got to do two amazing dives. The first dive we got to see two wolf eels, differed types of rock fish small to big, huge cods and even a spiny dog fish (shark). On the second dive we got to see fields of sea fern (I don't know if it's actually called that) huge glass sponges with tons of crabs and juvenile rock fish in them, a boot sponge with a grunt sculpin hanging out and later another quite curious dogfish checking us out. Still smiling and happy! Already planing to come back for more!

Dove many times with them, the staff are very friendly and professional. Provide lots of information of the dive sites and create a positive atmosphere for divers. Also, very supportive and encouraging to new divers too!

Checking out Howe Sound was great fun with Sea Dragon Charters. Rad divers aboard the TopLine and the crew and Captain Brian were very helpful and knowledgeable Divemasters who were great in giving the site orientations and Marine ID for critters abound:) The Topline is fully equipped for great diving with warm soup and friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to diving with Sea Dragon Charters again and seeing the HMCS Annapolis!

Every one of the crew was very helpful and kind, especially since it has been a little while since I have dove last (pandemic, y'know). I bravely and brashly wore a wetsuit in January, but was heartily warmed up by the soup and hot chocolate provided by the crew. When my regulator was not working properly the crew replaced mine for the dives without any complications, even providing a proper tank for my non-functional regulator (which is how we found out it needed a fixing). It felt like I had so many problems, but everyone on the boat was very kind and didn't make me feel like a burden at all. The staff at the store was also very helpful in choosing my rental equipment for the dives as well. The dives themselves had great visibility and even though we had to change locations for the second dive (water conditions), there was so much to see! The visibility was great and the waters were full of an amazing variety of fish and other sea life. Wonderful trip, will go on again.

Used SeaDragron for my Open Water and Advanced Open Water Training courses, with Tess as our instructor. It was a fantastic course, with good rental equipment and beautiful dive locations. 10/10 would recommend them for doing any dive training, or generally for tours exploring Howe sound. Kevin and Jan, the owners, are enthusiastic, compassionate, and competent. Whether it’s recreational diving, dive training, kayaking or snorkelling, I would highly recommend SeaDragon for any on-water adventures in Howe-Sound!

While I have my Advanced Open Water from the tropics, this was my first cold water and drysuit dive since my drysuit course a year ago. Although I had the typical drysuit newbie issues (not enough weights, didn't fully close zipper, mask issues with hood, etc), Divemaster/Instructor Gavin and Captain Bob were extremely helpful in helping me solve them so that I could get in and under the water! I cannot thank them enough for all their help! My second dive went a lot smoother. I had a great time and looking forward to exploring more of Howe Sound underwater with in the future! Another shout-out to Jude and the rest of the shop staff for helping me with my rental equipment and my questions during the sign-up process. I highly recommend them to anyone from tech divers to someone new to local diving like myself!

Really loved my time on the boat. Friendly staff and excellent divers. I requested a buddy for my dives and got paired up no problem. We dove Minneapolis wreck to start. What a dive! Did a swim through some of thr cabins. I can't possibly describe how wonderful the Minneapolis dive was, so I'll just highly reccomend it. I'm really happy with my experience at Sea Dragons and will be rebooking soon. Thanks!

Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! My daughter just got her PADI Open Water Certification, so this trip was just her 7th and 8th dive. Sea Dragon had her dive with an experienced staff member at the Annapolis wreck. He was patient, encouraging and very helpful. I do not dive, so I just went along for the ride, which was worth the money as I was on the water and the scenery was the BC coast (which is always beautiful). I hung out with the captain and had good conversation while the divers were under water. As a bonus, you get a cup or two of delicious warm soup in between dives. All around great experience. There both rookies and veteran divers on our trip, and the wreck had areas for all levels.

My regular go to dive habit. Best boat in BC amazingly friendly and professional dive staff. The captain knows exactly how to position the boat so it's easy to clamber back on. If you want to discover cold water diving or looking for a regular dive shop, this is it

As a technical diver I am self sufficient. With that, they have very safe boat operations and I’ve operations. Their shop is small but has a good variety of stock. The shop does both nitrox and air fills and the boat has an air compressor and dies air fills on board (NICE!). The captain and crew are very approachable and knowledgeable. My suggestion for for Sea Dragon Charters is that they have better signage at the marina and provide info about where to park, how to access the boat as there is a locking gate at the marina and that there are carts available to get your gear down to the boat. They provided a five star experience, not just on one dive but on multiple dives.

The team is taking very good care of everyone, they make sure everyone is having a great time. There is so much to see underwater, also were able to spot some seals so it was an awesome experience. I’d do it again and will be back again.

We took our dry suit course with Sea Dragon, this was our second trip out with them. They are awesome. Polite, friendly, helpful, very safe. They are kind enough to provide a delicious hot soup between dives and the boat is very well laid out for diving. Because it had been a while since our last dive, they sent an instructor with us for safety even though we didn't ask for one. We were very pleased that they made this offer. Above and beyond. Sea Dragon is always my go to dive charter operator, and this trip did not disappoint. Captain Brian got us to some great new sites, the weather was perfect, and Aleck kept us comfortable with hot soup and hot chocolate. Excellent as always! Top it off with some wildlife in the form of Geraldine, the resident great blue heron!

Went out on 2 different charters in a week and every dive was a new experience. Great setup on the boat, helpful staff and they made sure our dives were memorable. Worth every penny!!! Will go back again on my next trip to the coast. Thanks for the great time.

I and my wife are novice divers, so we were a bit worry about our first dive at west coast . However, it was great experience. We got our own dive master Brian with very calm and reassuring voice and he showed to us around the shipwreck and all animals along the wall. Visibility was not as great as we have at home at Georgian Bay, Ontario, but the sea life was way too much. I highly recommend to use a flashlight. On the boat we had a soup and cup of hot chocolate and spent time between dives on the top deck. Water temperature was +17 C on the surface and +8 C at 23 meters down. There was no current at all.

I've done several dives with this company and love diving with them. The divemasters and crew are always amazing. The equipment is always well maintained. The downfall with this company, is that it is much more expensive than diving with other companies like diving locker (which are also amazing) as they charge you for every single little thing such as weights, tanks and second dive air fill as this is normally included at other places. It's cheaper for me to go on a guided tour with other companies than my rental is with Sea Dragon. It would also be nicer if the dives would start later in the day. The dive sites are always beautiful. Definitely recommend this dive shop.

Hi Guys and Gals, I'm from Quebec. This is not cold water diving 10 degrees underwater. The crew, Amazing. Went for a Double Dip on the Annapolis and Wall dive. WOW. Our DM Mrs.Jude, So relax ,easy going, fun. Great explanation on dive site, What you will see, finded, an explore. Excellent job. What are the chances of finding 2, yes 2 fins on dive site. The day before a lady popped her fins.......They found it... HA HA HA

Our experience with Sea Dragon was absolutely great, we would do it again and can only recommend Sea Dragon Charters for everyone looking for scuba trips from a boat in Howe Sound! For our trip, we booked a scuba trip (two-Tank dive) including equipment with Sea Dragon. The day prior we checked in and got our stuff fitted - dry suits, undergarments and all, super nice quality stuff in excellent shape. We were told to show up the next morning at 06:30am which we did - alas, due to a slip-up the guide did not show. A bit disappointed and miffed, we left after one hour and shot an email, thinking that we would not be able to dive. And from then on Sea Dragon showed what an awesome outfit it is: they called us (we did not here it since we went hiking and at 11 am, when we promised to show up for a refund, they already waited for us to tell us that, if we wanted to go, we could go on the boat right away! What a pleasant surprise after the initial disappointment. The trip with Kevin (Captain and operator) and Justin (dive guide) was superb. It started with the most thorough safety briefing we ever received on advice boat (we have been on many boats!), followed through with a great selection of dive spots and a great dive guide. Kevin, the captain and operator of Sea Dragon does know the waters and diving for him is not a job but a passion, something he is able to convey to his guests. Justin as a dive guide is also very recommendable and fun to dive with. To top it off, after the dive we have been invited for a beer because of the slip-up in the morning, something we did not expect, since we had gotten our trip after all. We enjoyed it a lot and were able to chat a bit more with Kevin, his wife Jan and DG Justin about diving, life and everything in between. All this made for a wonderful day in and out of the water!

This crew was absolutely fantastic and made my 10th and 11th dive both comfortable and adventurous. This was my first cold water dive in a long time, but they made me feel so welcome and helped me get used to using a wet suit with more weight added then I am used to. Justin was a great tour and dive guide and Kevin was such a fun captain. During the dive, Justin helped me to find a juvenile wolf eel, beautiful sculpin and rockfish, and white plumed sea anemones. A friend and I also took the seal snorkel and kayak tour. It was was so cool to interact with large aquatic mammals so up close and personal. They kept bobbing their heads all around us. Hot chocolate and soup were provided throughout the trip to keep us warm between outings. At the end of the trip, Kevin allowed us to jump off the boat into the water, which was such a fun way to end a fun day. If I am in the area again, I am definitely going back for another dive session!

we just had the best dive day ever. My fiancé booked a dive day for a group of us of 16 I believe it was. (she books everything and is the organized one) Everything went off without an issue from us all checking in at the dive shop, to landing our gear to Captain Kevin having the perfect sites chosen(with Elsa's direction, she is particular of the site). The weather was perfect, light winds and calm seas. First was Wedding Cake, how fitting, a beautiful and easy site to dive. Next was Halket wall, another awesome first time dive site for both of us. An easy entry and descent, took us along a shear wall, to a large crack in the wall which, as promised by Kevin, housed a HUGE Giant Pacific Octopus. Our hour dive, and air supply getting low we surfaced to welcoming faces and a very organized crew, thanks Judith for everything. Everyone back on board Kevin made a small announcement after roll call, and cracked open a bottle of Champagne for all of us to enjoy and thanked us for choosing Sea Dragon charters for this special day. It was a day to remember.

We could not have asked for a better day and conditions in diving, sun was out, little waves and great visibility. I wont lie, I was so nervous about diving in a dry suit I almost wasnt even going to try. But the staff at Sea Dragon Charters were amazing! They were so patient, professional, supportive and friendly. They quickly calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable. I had an incredible 2 days (4 dives) in Howe Sound. The dive sites were jaw dropping, and nothing like i have ever experienced before. And coming from Cairns Australia I had accepted that I was going to freeze regardless. But suprisingly, despite the water being a cool 8 degrees celcius, I was warm on all the dives. Sea Dragon Charters provided me with TOP of the line Dry Suit and Scuba Equipment. So you are definately getting amazing value cor money and will be well taken care of. I definately recommend diving with the amazing Sea Dragon Team!!
