great tour! Been going to Whistler over 10+ years. This tour showed us so much we never knew about. Ryan was awesome!
An excellent overview of Whistler that expanded our appreciation of the area, and ways to enjoy it. It included Whistler's founding and history; the innovative way they make it livable for staff; hidden gems that locals frequent; and most fascinating--the Whistler Sliding Center--where we later watched a luge competition. Ryan was informative, engaging, and conducted the tour at the perfect pace. Highly recommend.
This was our 5th trip to Whistler - and yet we saw new things and learned so much! would recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip!
My family did a private tour with Ryan and it was one of the best parts of our trip. We were able to see places that we wouldn't have seen on our own. Ryan was knowledgeable and friendly. He also gave us recommendations of restaurants and activities in the area. This tour should be on your must do list.
Would Recommend the excellent whistler sightseeing tour. In half a day Ryan showed us around the key parts of the Whistler Valley and gave us a great overview of the various sights. It was really informative and good fun. He also provided us with his own personal recommendations re things to do, places to eat and drink etc which was really useful. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
the guide was great, very informative, very well done. I would recommend to anyone that wants to know history of Whistler.
Ryan was an amazing tour guide. Very affable, flexible and extremely knowledgeable. He has a detailed knowledge of this beautiful area where he has lived for 15 years. It’s a great way to see the area and Ryan has insider knowledge on all the best activities.
Ryan was amazing. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. It's definitely a good tour to do at the beginning of your trip because you get really good tips of fave local restaurants and spots to check out. You get to see a lot of these spots on the tour.
This is a must-do when you first arrive to Whistler. It’s an excellent overview of the greater Whistler area. Ryan was super knowledgeable about the area, providing historical background of the Whistler and recommendations during your stay.
It was our first time in Whistler and Ryan was amazing. He gave a comprehensive tour with a lot of information and recommendations. It was so much fun. It definitely made our time there even more amazing.
Our family really enjoyed this tour of Whistler and Blackcomb. Our guide, Ryan, was super knowledgeable about the area and all of its history. He made the trip truly memorable. My favorite part of the tour was that we were able to visit the local areas and places that are “off the beaten path”.
Very nice guided tour from Ryan Powell. Nicely details and it was really a shame not to have stayed longer in Whistler, but we will come back for sure.
Ryan was an exceptional guide. He was accommodating to our needs and share so much interesting history and information about the tour. Very highly recommend Ryan.
We were in Whistler attending a conference. Ryan introduced us to areas and sights that were not offered thru our group coordinators. During our time with Ryan, we gained knowledge of Whistler and we definitely plan to return someday and explore even more. And we circled back on his recommendation and tried the Hopper Pie at Peaked Pies and the coffee was amazing!
Great tour of Whistler and surrounding area. Well thought out route with lots of stops for taking photos. Between stops the consistent dialog was interesting and knowledgeable with thoughtful history and current events.
Amazing experience, and great tour by our guide - sorry it was a long time ago that I can't recall his name, thank you!
Nice educational tour to get to know Whistler with its vicinity, Olympic village. Driver was knowledgeable.
Went on the tour at the beginning of our week in Whistler. Ryan helped us to not only learn all about the history of Whistler, but to get a better understanding of the layout of the area. He was a wealth of information and clearly loves Whistler.
Terrific 3 hour very informative tour by our guide, Ryan, who shared the history of the area and made many recommendations of other things we may enjoy seeing and doing in the area. Highly recommend.
Having only a very short amount of time in Whistler I looked for a tour on the internet. We picked this one based on reviews and what the tour entailed. We were not disappointed. Ryan is very knowledgeable about the area. He’s full of great stories and tells them well. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with him and highly recommend him to anyone who wants to delve into Whistler.
We have gone a lot of tours in our traveling years now that we are retired. This tour, with Ryan, is by far the best we have ever had!! Just read all the other reviews with Ryan, and we will say DITTO!
As my teenage son put it, Ryan was a "W" guide! Apparently that means Winner, and I couldn't agree more. Ryan is a fantastic ambassador for Whistler, and took us to some great spots. He was full of interesting background information and happily answered all of our questions. Everywhere we went, locals knew who he was, and you could tell it was a well-earned reputation. The tour vehicle was not an SUV as expected, but rather a large, comfortable, roomy touring van with great views that kept us up high. What a nice surprise. Ryan gave us a list of local recommendations that we took everywhere, and even offered to answer questions on his cell later (I had to stop my son from texting just because he like Ryan lol). It was also a great idea to start our trip with this tour because Ryan was able to point out things we might like and tailor our tour appropriately. Highly recommend this personal guided tour and would do it again with additional visiting spots if we return to Whistler. Five star all the way!
Ryan shared a wealth of knowledge of everything Whistler. Locations we stopped at were very scenic. He even dropped us off near gondolas where we were headed next to save us some walking and gave us ample time to do the Peak to Peak
Ryan was great. He was very informative and helpful for finding other activities. Wonderful tour! I highly recommend this tour.
Rayn is so knowledgeable about the history of Whistler and my family enjoied the expericene with him. We recommend this tour.
My most memorable part was having the guide all for us, he was very professional and attentive to our likes, we told him what we actually liked and he went beyond to pleased us He took pictures of us , and was very detail oriented in explaining all the events for the Olympics of 2010 and much more…I would not hesitate to recommend this tour We will be back soon when snowing for some skiing action
Ryan was a mine of local and historical knowledge and was a very considerate and friendly guide. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend to anyone
Enriching and relaxing experience with Ryan. This tour combined Whistler’s history with present-day Whistler on a 3-hour tour of the Whistler valley. A lot to know about Whistler to plan better experiences going forward. The places covered such as Rainbow Park, Function Junction, Creekside Village, Sliding Centre, etc., would not be very obvious to experience yourself but with this tour, Ryan ensured we have a strong idea of how to enjoy the most of Whistler now. Not only were picturesque and historical spots covered, but Ryan also showed us the best breweries of Whistler (we could not enjoy our beers, thanks to COVID restrictions but now, we know where to go) and always has the best restaurant recommendations. Ryan is an absolute pleasure to be with. Extremely passionate and knowledgeable, Ryan connected Whistler's past with what we see today as present-day Whistler. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend Ryan’s Whistler half day Tour! He is a friendly and kind host with a lot of Whistler knowledge and lore. We not only learned about the history of Whistler, but we got to see the entire area including Green Lake, Alta Lake, Nita Lake, Function Junction, Creekside, the Sliding Center and the Village, Ryan is a wonderful storyteller and he paints a picture of the characters that came together to create a world class recreational resort. Even got a beer tasting on the tour! 3 hours of entertainment - thank you Ryan!
Ryan was a Great guide, he was patient, kind and had a meticulous way of telling the story and culture of Whistler, the tour was super fun for my family, It’s worth it.
We loved the history that Ryan explained about the Whistler area, featuring the First Nations people that shared the resources. It was interesting to learn about some of the characters that helped create the vision for Whistler. Ryan is a great storyteller and kept us informed and entertained. We also appreciated learning about the affordable housing initiatives in Whistler so that service workers and seasonable workers can afford to live in the community. We went from Green Lake to Alta, Nita and Alpha lakes visiting the parks along the way. Then Function Junction, Creekside, Whistler Village and the Sliding Center. We really loved the recommendations that Ryan gave for restaurants, art displays and other outdoor activities that we can enjoy when we come back again to Whistler!
Ryan was so knowledgeable about whistler and it’s history. We loved seeing all the sites he took us to. We recommend this tour and we now have so many more adventures we want to have when we come back to whistler again. There really is something for everyone! Thanks for a great afternoon! Well spent!
Ryan was such a gracious tour guide. He was well informed about the area, had great suggestions for other activities and eating options. Would definitely recommend this tour and do it again.
We went on the 3 hour tour and had Ryan as our Tour Guide. He was awesome!!! We learned a lot about the history of Whistler and many things we did not know. We were blessed as our Tour turned out to be a private tour. We strongly recommend Whistler Sightseeing Tours. Ryan opened our eyes to what makes up Whistler-Blackcomb and inspired us to commit to returning often. Thank you Ryan and we wish you much success . You are a strong ambassador for your Community!!💜
We liked that Ryan Powell had talked about the places we visited and that he was very informative. His attitude was the best a person could imagine as well. He also guided us our way to find the location of the tour van. He also interacted with us in a safe way(physical distance and sanitation.) which It was definitely a good experience.
We had a wonderful experience on our tour! We were new to Whistler and Ryan was an amazing guide. He is so knowledgeable about the history and all the hidden local gems in the Whistler area. A must do when visiting!
We found this company through our walking tour guide. He recommended it to see the whole Whistler area. Very happy we did. We took the private option and spent 3 hours exploring the ins and outs of the valley. Our guide was accommodating, full of information and knew the best locations for great photos. Highly recommend!
We highly recommend: Ryan our tour guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Told us very interesting storeies of the original settlers in Whistler.Excellent way to see and learn about beautiful Whistler.Thank you so much Ryan.
Hello everyone we went on a tour of whistler and the surrounding areas with Ryan in January 2020 Andre I will say we are glad we went on it Ryan is an amazingly friendly tour guide his knowledge of whistler and the First Nations is a credit to himself and the whistler community in general we will go back for another visit in the future and we will definitely get Ryan to show us around even more of the area I could not recommend him high enough his tour is friendly informative and makes you feel right at home I wish him all the best
We highly recommend! We were able to see so much of Whistler and the surrounding valley with this very informative and fun tour. Ryan is so knowledgeable. He had great stories to tell of the history of this beautiful place. And gave us suggestions on more things to do and see to make the most of our trip. We had a great time! Book this tour when in Whistler. You can't go wrong!
Ryan was a wonderful guide showing us many varied sights in the Whistler community and telling us the history of the area. I highly recommend this to visitors looking for such. We visited many scenic locations as well as Purebread, with delicious baked goods, and the Sliding Center. This overview gave us suggestions on where we wanted to return for longer times during our stay in Whistler. The small group was great.
We had a wonderful tour guide, Mike, who showed us all around Whistler. He also explained the history of Whistler. We were shown several neighborhoods, where people live, and how the neighborhoods are hidden from the road. We went to several places which emphasized the history of the area and how it came to be such a world famous resort town. It was a fascinating tour. We had never been to Whistler before, and felt like we knew how to get around much better after the tour. Plus, we had a deeper understanding of the culture and history of Whistler.
We enjoyed getting away from the Village and seeing the area. What a great opportunity to learn about the history of the area and see the sights without having to drive. The weather was rainy and cold and it was actually a good way to fill in a day what did not allow for other activities.
What an absolute dream our tour was . Our guides were extremely friendly and super knowledgeable about everything Whistler. A massive thank you to the team for really making our already unforgettable time spent in this beautiful part of the world even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend
This was our first trip to Whistler and this was a great way to learn about the area. Ryan was a great tour guide showing us areas that a lot of tourists probably don't see but also some must sees.
We hadn’t been to Whistler in 20 years so we decided to take a tour to get a better understanding of the area. Our guide, Ryan, was so informative and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed the stops and stories. Highly recommend.
Mike/our guide/ provided great overview of Whistler hx, development, winter/summer activities, Whistler Olympics.5 star.
Excellent way to see and learn more about beautiful Whistler. Mike was very informative and even assisted with other activities.
As first time visitors to Whistler, the tour was a great way for us to get the lay of the land in this outdoor paradise. Our guide, Ryan, was both personable and knowledgeable, and provided some fantastic options with regards to available activities in the area. We left the tour with plenty of ideas of how to fill our week up, and highly recommend Whistler Sightseeing Tours based on our experience.
