Lake Country Wine Tour

Wonderful, wonderful day! Our tour guide Brian was fantastic, great guy , really knowledgeable, so personable, great sense of humour. Wineries were perfect, the staff at each were great. What also made the day special were the completely unknown to us German couple we shared the tour with, it wouldn’t have been the same without them! All in all memorable day for all the right reasons, thoroughly recommended.

Fabulous experience visiting 4 wineries in the beautiful Okanagan valley. Our guide Cal Anderson was friendly, knowledgeable and really great company. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon, we really enjoyed it and would certainly recommend both the company and Cal.. Sue and Tom

Disappointed that didn’t deliver a knowledgeable wine tasting experience. For the record our driver Larry was helpful, friendly and transported us to our accommodation directly and on time. He imparted some helpful background info on the wider area as we drove around. Thanks to him. We took a four and a half afternoon tour of 4 west Kelowna wineries. I think Saturday made them particularly busy. Comfortable transport with 2 other couples. Usually wine tasting tours deliver a chance to taste and discuss the wines, the vineyards and their history in depth with knowledgeable vineyard staff; in a relaxed, environment. Sadly , non of the four sites we visited provided this. Essentially, all four were busy, packed venues with multiple tours and individual parties crowded in. The servers were all pleasant but that was it - they delivered a well rehearsed short script as they poured the wine then rapidly moved on to the next table. A couple of them had less knowledge about wine making than we did! Was it fun? Yes if you want a glorified pub ( wine) crawl with nice views, friendly company and plenty of folk in party vibe crowding the venues then it was fine. If you’re after an educational, informative experience about Canadian wine making then these chosen venues failed to deliver. Needs a revamp. Sadly, a missed and underwhelming tour.

Did this with Cal on 30th May. Great tour of 5 different vineyards with a stop for lunch. Lots of local information from Cal and some beautiful settings throughout. Enjoyed many of the wines we sampled and made a few purchases to take with to enjoy on the remainder of our Canadian tour. Brilliant weather really helped to enhance the experience.

Marsha organized such a smooth seemless day for our girls group. She was flexible with our pick up timing and we had the absolute best driver named Cal. I honestly loved every single stop we went to. Each one had something special - beautiful scenery, attentive hosts, hidden gems, delicious food. We had the best day and are so thankful Cal for being so patient with us and all the little bonuses he provided. Thank you for making our day perfect!

Hats off to Larry! An excellent guide and communicator who went the extra mile to ensure we had a superb day. He reminded us to make sure we collected all our belongings when we arrived back to our accommodation. On the return journey, at our request, he stopped at the Save on Foods hyperstore so that we could get supplies for our onward journey. When we arrived back at our accommodation we had our hands full of shopping bags and totally forgot about our rucksacks which were behind our seats. It was only hours later that we realised we had left them in the vehicle. Larry sprang to our rescue and came out of his way that evening to return them to us. Top fella, Larry, thanks a million. Jim Fraser, our guide was THE BEST!! Our group loved the experience from start to finish. From the luxurious Mercedes Sprinter to Jim’s knowledgeable info shared. A true CLASS ACT!

Lovely guides/drivers. Brian and Brian. Very knowledgeable, and kind. The host wineries were also excellent. Some very fine wines were tasted. Lovely views.

Marsha was easy and quite helpful for planning. Larry was a joy as he drove us around. LOVE that they allowed our dog to join us! Note we went to the Naramata area, not Lake Country but I couldn't change location with the review ;)

We heard that a wine tour in Kelowna was the thing to do and it certainly did not disappoint! Brian was such a wonderful and kind host, very knowledgable on the local wineries and we learnt so much. We got to visit fours very different vineyards where we sampled a variety of different wines - we especially loved the Crown and Thieves, very cool decor and architecture. There’s even a speakeasy which you can visit on weekends with live music. A very memorable visit during our time in Kelowna - thank you so much Brian! 😊

Comfortable vehicle, our guide, Jim, was excellent, very knowledgeable and very attentive to his guests' needs. We enjoyed all the wineries, but you could replace 50th Parallel. That vineyards location and architecture were lovely, but our experience there was ruined by a very rude, dismissive and inattentive hostess. Everything else about the days tour was excellent and we would highly recommend this company and Jim as a guide.

I went on a full day winery tour. Larry was the host. He was great. He knew all about the wineries and the history of the area and knew about wines in general. Also, my tour included a lunch, which was absolutely yummy. I would highly recommend this tour. It was very reasonably priced and you got a lot for the price of the tour

We did a tour of the vineyards in West Kelowna and it was phenomenal. Great views and delicious wine. The tour was made even better by our lovely host, Cal!

From the initial communications with Marsha, to the most delightful day with Jim, our Okanagan Wine Country Tour was simply top notch. Everything was as presented, only better. This was our first trip to the Okanagan vineyards, and we wanted to gain the local knowledge, as well as understand the breadth of the wine industry in the region. Simply stated, this tour delivered all of that and more. Jim allowed us time to explore, provided a very high level of knowledge of the vineyards, wines, and shared the fascinating history of this wonderful valley. We were properly escorted in every situation, presented with exemplary wines in our tastings, introduced to some wonderful folks at each vineyard, learning as we went. As noted, this was our first trip to the valley, however we are already planning our trip for next year, and be assured that Okanagan Wine Country Tours will be our sole tour provider. Just a fantastic experience, thank you Jim and thank you Marsha! Cheers!

We had an amazing time on this tour! We did the 6-hour Best of West Kelowna tour, and had such a great experience! Brian was our tour guide - he confirmed pick up location the day before, arrived early, and took great care of us at each place. Brian was very knowledgeable about the Kelowna wine scene, many times he knew just as much about the vineyards and wines as the sommeliers at the places! He held onto all of our wine purchases, gave us water, always helped us in and out of the van. I even left my umbrella in the van and he contacted me and came back to drop it off with me after he had gone home! I cannot recommend this tour and this company enough!

Roy turned up right on time and was charming from the start. The vehicle was spotless, equipped with water and other snacks throughout the day. We hadn’t expected this to be a private tour but it turned out to be. Roy was a good balance of chatty and informing. The wineries were 4, a good mix of smaller, family and a larger one. All different and with great surroundings. The booked lunch spot was a great venue on the lake. We would recommend this as a great way of not just sampling the wines but seeing the surrounding area to Kelowna.

We had a really lovely wine tour on Sunday with the lovely Brian as our driver. We went up to the Lakeland area and visited 4 vineyards and had lunch at one of them. The views were spectacular and I am now a convert to Pinot Gris. Thank you Brian for a lovely day.

Jim was an excellent guide for our wine tasting day. He provided interesting commentary to the various wineries we visited. He had water and snacks in the car for us and a box in the back to safely hold our wine purchases. Exceptional door to door service. I highly recommend this wine tour.

We are not ‘wine buffs’ but thought this would be a nice way to see the locality and spend a nice afternoon- it certainly was. Our guide Brian was a really nice guy, clearly new his wine but wasn’t sniffy about the fact that we obviously didn’t. We tasted 15 different wines plus 5 honey based meads and had a good laugh with both Brian and the staff at the wineries serving the tastings - good fun and no pressure to buy the wine if you didn’t want to.

We enjoyed a super day with Larry on our wine tour. Larry is a great driver and story teller about the area and wineries. Thank you very much and keep up the good work. Regards P&P

We had a wonderful day on the Lake Country wine tour with Roy as our guide. We visited 5 beautiful wineries with amazing wines, and had a lovely pizza lunch at O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars. Beautiful views everywhere we went. Our guide was fantastic, and the extra snacks/goodie bags were a lovely and thoughtful bonus.

We had a great tour with Dave as our guide. We visited wineries, we learned about mead and cider making. As well as learning a lot about wine, we got a tour of the local area and a better sense of the place outside of the city. A really great experience , thank you , felt very well looked after

We had an absolutely fabulous tour with our driver, Jim. There were only two of us and it was late in the season so I worried it may get cancelled, but I needn’t have. We effectively had a private tour, and our host couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Would definitely take another tour with them.

We had a wonderful tour with Jim. He was knowledgeable about the region and which wineries to visit. He also provided excellent photography for us! The vehicle was clean and they adhered to COVID restrictions, making us feel safe with them. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with this company again.

If you are ever in the Okanagan area, and have never done a wine tour before, I highly recommend the Okanagan Wine Country Tour company. Not only did they pick us up in Peachland, but our driver Jim was kind, on time, knowledgeable and let us take our time. We never felt rushed throughout the trip, and the wineries they chose for us were great! I went in not knowing a lot (or even really liking wine!), but now I think it's safe to say I'm a bit of a wine-o. :) Thanks Jim! You are the best & thanks for making my friends 40th Bday trip a blast!

Picked us up at 10:00 AM, right on time. Larry was a great host. Good driver, & very friendly, informative! The wineries were beautiful, and the wine was great as well. Would definitely recommend to others.

We are returning customers. Mary Ellen picked us up from our hotel along with another couple. She was very knowledgeable on all the wineries we went to and gave us a bit of the history on each. We had a lovely lunch at 50th Parallel and continued on. We had enough time to sneak in 2 extra wineries on the tour. We will definitely be returning again next year to do the Naramata bench with Mary Ellen. Highly recommend this tour!

Patti is amazing and so knowledgeable. Highlight was by far Ex Nihilo met the owner Jeff who shared his journey and vision with us. Top noth for professionalism andxwe had a blast.

Was visiting West Kelowna for the weekend whilst holidaying in Canada and booked a wine tour with Okenagen Country Wine Tours. Fantastic day. Larry our tour guide, picked us up from our accommodation which was convenient. He was a great guy, friendly and informative. Larry made sure we had water and snacks between wineries and let us know what our day would involve. We visited 4 wineries over the day and had lunch at one, Quails Gate, which was OK. Definitely recommend using this tour group.

Mary Ellen was our guide for our wine tour. We were a group of 6 women on my bachelorette party and we had a wonderful time! Mary Ellen was very knowledgeable and fun. We very much enjoyed visiting all the wineries and the lunch we had was fantastic. We learned so much and had some excellent wine! I would highly recommend this tour and Mary Ellen!
