Our driver (self named "King Charles") was a pleasant host to our day roundtrip from Vancouver to Whistler. We were lucky to only have 4 guests in a van touring that slightly rainy day. Charles provided us with historical information on the areas we visited. He kept us entertained which made the 10 hour drive more enjoyable. We drove through Stanley Park stopping at a quant Horseshoe Bay Park to see the ferry station, lovely park and donut shop with washrooms. Next stop was Shannon Falls Park where quick walk to view the fall for photo ops (Charles takes photos of you). Then on to Whistler where Charles drove us through the entire city layout so you can become familiar with the surroundings to decide your 4 hours of free time. Plenty of restaurants, breweries, bars and shops for any interest. We found good sales at shops at end of the season (middle Sept.). After Whistler we stopped for a rest break on the return trip at Porteau Cove Park. Charles returned us to the hotel drop off site but said he could also drop us off directly at our hotel a few blocks from the drop off. Great service and worth the trip out of Vancouver to see nature and beautiful Whistler. Highly recommend this tour and request Charles as your driver. NOTES: Check weather to bring rain gear/umbrella if needed. Hats and Sunscreen is suggested on sunny days.
Simply beautiful, Charles was so personable and professional. I felt very safe entrusting our trip with him
Very nice tour, veru friendly guide
Wonderful Tour It was a.very amazing tour with Charles our knowleagble and friendly tiur guide. Shannon falls was soectacular. I recommebed this tiur for any one who wants to explore whistler and its surrounding.
Charles provided an excellent personal service with pertinent information about Shannon Falls and Whistler.
Charles was an incredible guide. He went above and beyond to provide us with an up close and personal experience. He was very knowledgeable about everything. He also took the time to get to know us.
Great tour. Our tour leader Charles was super!!! Very well organised and our leader always tried to take us to some nearby hidden great locations Keep it up!!
Our tour guide Charles was FANTASTIC. The moment we met him we were instant friends. He knew so many facts, was so kind and molded the trip around our needs (it was just two of us on tour that day). Was very patient with me as we walked up to the Falls. Note I had taken on a fall (on another trip - Dog Sledding in Yukon) and hurt my hip. He just made the trip so enjoyable and memorable. On way home to look at Eagles (none the water/food had dried up) but was outside where Jack's Bar from Virgin River is filmed. Other than sign looks nothing like TV series but it was a fantastic place with great patrons. It was beautiful walking around Whistler. Recommend this tour - also start off with many sights in Vancouver.
Charles was fantastic! I wish we didn’t have to leave Vancouver, just so that we can do this again!!!
Charles was amazing! So kind, funny, and accomodating. He picked me and my collegaue up from our hotel at a timely fashion and we spent the entire day out. Car was comfortable, warm, and spacious. We had enough time in Whistler to sight see and do some shopping.
Charles was an excellent guide pointing out interesting sites along the way to Whistler. Loved Shannon Falls and seeing the Olympic Village and Rings. He even showed us filming locations for Virgin River. Such a great day!
Charles was a really great tour guide! I would definitely recommend this tour and do it again if I came back to Vancouver.
The small group tour to Whistler with Charles was great. He drove us through Stanley park and narrated along the way. We stopped a few times to stretch and to see Shannon Falls. Once at Whistler he drove us around to see some of the sights before our free time. It was a very rainy day so we didn't ride the Gondola. Many restaurants and great shopping in Whistler.
Charles was excellent as a tour guide & driver. He pointed out everything that we read about & much more. Made everything thing & funny. We appreciated his knowledge & humor. Definitely a great time. We also did the gondola even though it was chilly & not included in our package. My husband made a decision to come back snowboarding & skiing now.
Our tour guide was fun, funny and very knowledgeable. The beauty of the country was unbelievable. Our guide allowed us as much time as we needed to enjoy where we were.
This was such an awesome tour and we seen a lot. Charles was an awesome guide and took the time with us. He took us to where we wanted to go and got extra places to go as well. Keep up the great work awesome.
Our guide, Charles, was fantastic. Would recommend this tour to all age groups! The trip was very scenic.
We had a small group (just the four of us) which I loved! Charles had enough energy for all of us that early in the AM especially with the mini hike to the water fall. Whistler Village was cherry on top as we were able to enjoy active snow falling while we were there. The only thing we missed out on was photos of the Olympic rings. But it was a great trip and Charles had the same energy in the PM as he did the first half of the day. Thank you Charles.
We had a lovely day out to Whistler. Charles the guide was very friendly and knew all kinds of facts. We visited more places than mentioned in the tour, Horseshoe Bay and Porteau Cove. Shannon Falls are a wonderful sight and Whistler was interesting. We had plenty to do there in the time allotted. All in all a very nice day out.
Charles was our tour guide and he was great. He gave us information along the way, we had ample time at each stop, and he took photos for us. We had really nice weather and beautiful views! It was a great experience!
Charles, our guide, was a wonderful! He was fun, gave us great information, and was a really safe driver. The company also accommodated us even though they were full on Thursday. It was a mistake I made, but they still made our tour happen. We couldn’t be happier!
The pick-up at hotel was great. Our tour director was full of energy and very informative. The tour was beautiful and would highly recommend it.
We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend because 1) Charles was our tour guide and he was amazing - he knew so much about the area and narrated well and really listened to our group and their interests 2) the scenery is just breathtaking- my pictures look like postcards; we made numerous stops to see the sites 3) super easy to book on Viator but this tour company communicated well with updates, pick up times, etc
The tour was a small group tour. We were expecting 8 people but luckily there were only 4 of us. So it made for a very personal tour. Charles our driver and tour guide was wonderful and made our tour very enjoyable. He was friendly, and he adjusted the tour to suit our interests which was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the tour for a great way to see the sights without feeling like you were in a bus tour.
Brilliant guide, amazing views, stunning drive, spectacular day out!!! Thoroughly recommend this trip!!
What a great tour we had with Charles as our tour guide. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and certainly took great care of us . Whistler and Shannon Falls were both breathtakingly beautiful and would highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a great day out with tons to see and ooooooh and ahhhh over . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a wonderful day touring around the beautiful Vancouver area. Charles our tour guide was wonderful!! I can highly recommend this excursion and Bentley Tours! 😊
Charles was outstanding. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Vancouver and its beautiful vistas was contagious. One of the best trips ever. Plenty of free time in Whistler. Gondola was closed, so if your heart is set on it, double check.
Seeing the sites along the highway and learning about the history. Touring through Vancouver was interesting. Our tour guide Charles was excellent! Charles is a very safe driver and the van was excellent.
Great day overall. Charles our driver was awesome and fun to be around. We had a small group, was nice to chat with different people while travelling. The snow in whistler was fab, had some flurries in the village too which was nice.
An amazing trip Charles was a brilliant guide knew his facts and also how to make the journey fun. Lots of interesting little bits that you would never find without his help. Would highly recommend.
Great Coastal Drive. Enjoyed Whistler and Shannon Falls. Great Day!! We would do this again!! Our driver, Charles, was terrific!!
Great city with friendly people and a lot to see and do. Suggest using the water taxis to get around. Stanley Park is awesome. Take the carriage tour. Take a seaplane ride over to Vancouver Island and visit Butchart Gardens. You will need more than two days to do it right. We took four and really had a great time. Also a good port for taking Alaska cruises.
Wow ! From start to finish, we were completely in awe of this incredible part of the world. From Downtown around Stanley Park, across Lions Gate Bridge, West Vancouver to Horse Shoe Bay, then on to Shannon Falls and up to Whistler, this is an experience of a lifetime. A real pinch yourself day. Shannon Falls is highlight with a half hour or so stopover where you walk the short trail to the base of the falls. Whistler in Summer is crazy. So much to do with bars, beats, bikes, bears and unbelievable 360 degree views. But also a real happy- not rushed summer vibe as we were there during the tail end of what the locals have been calling a heat wave of 30• + days. The summit ! That summit, the journey to and being up on the very top of this majestic place is unforgettable. It is mandatory to enjoy a drink at the Umbrella Bar as well. Charles our driver / guide awesome and made our experience even better. He was energetic, knowledgable and fun. He picked us up on time with a massive smile and showed us the city sights before making our way up to Whistler. We, as a couple were his only passengers in a comfortable, late model air conditioned Toyota van, Charles was happy to stop for photo’s along the way and was upbeat the entire journey which made this incredible experience even better.
Charlie was a hoot and very knowledgeable. He was funny, accommodating, and even entertained us during unexpected traffic on our way back from Whistler. The pit stops to Shannon Falls, Porteau Cove, and the fresh water glacier view point was a bonus. The ride was smooth and the vehicle was very clean, and water was offered. Highly recommend! The chi chi group from Montreal!
Took the tour in April 2019. The guide was very helpful and the hotel pickup and drop off was good. Shannon Falls was a worthwhile stop. Whistler was interesting and busy but we did not go on the gondola ride at extra cost. It is true that a Greyhound bus trip directly to Whistler is cheaper but you won't stop at the other places. We had a meal at a crowded restaurant full of skiers and socialites with a line out the front door. The native museum in Whistler was informative. However, I thought the bus tour cost for two was a little on the high side especially after a $20 tip. Nevertheless, it was a worthwhile break from downtown Vancouver.
COMMUNICATION I had to call several times as I had a few questions I wanted to clarify. All times I had reached out to a rep from Bentley Tours & Charters Sightseeing Vancouver, they were very helpful. DAY-OF The pick-up for myself went smoothly. I have abandonment issues so I always arrive crazily early before scheduled appointment/date/pick-up just to make sure they don't miss them. During the drive and stops, our driver/tour guide (Jenny) provided enough commentary where the ambiance on the bus that never felt awkwardly silent or annoyingly too much - just right. Bonus: she has a nice voice so that's helpful. She provided our small group enough time at each stop and I am very satisfied with the time given to us. She was very informative and approachable. For someone working on a holiday, she was very sweet and nice and patient. OVERALL I would recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in seeing beautiful sights, pleasant guide and wants to take a nice relaxing exploration part of North Vancouver. Thank you Jenny!
Have a fantastic time. Steve was an excellent guide. Definitely glad we explored the putter towns and locations.
My wife and I ended up booking this trip a few days before arriving in Vancouver from Australia. On the date we got picked up by Steve, who informed us we'd be the only people that he would be taking up to Whistler. I can't recommend his services enough, Steve is extremely knowledgeable about all things Vancouver (he recommended some truly excellent pizza shops and breweries) and made the trip feel like a day out amongst friends. The only downside to the trip was that cloud and fog hampered the spectacular views of mountains along the way and in Whistler but Steve made an extra stop or two along the way to help make up for it. Steve is by far the best guide I've ever had for any tour and I cannot recommend him enough.
I did this tour just before Labour Day Weekened and it was so much fun. The driver picked me up right from the hotel, I wish I could remember his name but he was amazing. The drive up the Whistler was beautiful, the weather was warm but sunny and clear which made for a great drive. Shannon Falls was beautiful and a great place to stop and take pictures. Whistler was so much fun. I bought my ticket for the Peak 2 Peak before hand so I did not have to stand in the long line ( I recommend you do), I went right to the peak and was able to enjoy my time there, I did not feel rushed at all. The village was quaint, shopping was decent (I was surprised at the focus on mountain biking in the village) but still a good variety of shops and cafes. Overall worth the experience, I cannot wait to go back.
Our guide was excellent. Very helpful and knowledgable. Very good at taking our pictures which was much appreciated. Excellent driver and recommended lots of restaurants in Vancouver. Scenery was outstanding
The drive to Whistler was amazing. The weather and the views were incredible. Horseshoe Bay was a nice stop where we walked out on the pier and took some nice pictures. Shannon Falls was also nice as well. In Whistler, we did the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. We thought the gondola was going to be closed, but apparently the one that closed is in Squamish. The gondola was well worth it. It's much higher than I imagined and the mountain views were breathtaking. Lots of restaurant choices in Whistler, but we just chose pizza to avoid line ups. Overall, awesome tour and a great way to see Whistler without staying the night.
It is better to go Whistler using cheapest tour or public bus. this guy Fred did not stop at the scheduled places and only gave about 165 minutes in Whistler and was shouting as he wanted to give only 2.5 hours. The tour specifies at-least 4 hours. I see on Viator there are other cheap options, the tour company Bentley tours took the price of high end tour but gave the low end tour. I talked to folks in Vancouver and Banff and they told me the same.
Although there was poor communication between the tour guide/driver and the tour office staff involving the pick-up time which was delayed more than an hour due to traffic issues, the rest of the tour went well and on time. If not for that annoying glitch, we would have rated the tour "excellent." The tour guide/driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed his commentary and learned a lot as we toured Vancouver and then stopped at Horseshoe Bay, which was very picturesque. The drive along the Sea to Sky Highway was truly worth experiencing. The walk to get a closer look at dramatic Shannon Falls was perfect for stretching our legs. The time at Whistler was adequate to take the series of gondolas, enjoy the beautiful scenery from the summit, and still enjoy a relaxing lunch at the Village before returning to Vancouver. This was a varied and scenery-packed tour that allowed us to explore and appreciate Vancouver, Whistler, and points in between.
Great excursion, worth every penny.Comfortable van, we made three stops plus a bonus. Our guide John was absolutely fantastic. So knowledgeable and personable. He enhanced the trip greatly
We took the extended time at Whistler, thought everyone on the tour was doing the same thing, but found out we were the only ones. Now this means that you have to take a motorcoach back to Vancouver. Found out it was only $35.00 round trip to vancouver on that very same coach...a far cry from what we paid for 3 people. i realize we went through Stanley park, but the tour would have been worth it if it had simply done Shannon Falls, Whistler and included the cost of the gondola ride and then returned on the same vehicle.
The tour was the best City area tour I've ever taken. Fred the driver was awesome, full of knowledge, funny and personable and patient with my photographer husband who just wanted one more shot. I highly recommend this tour and Fred. Worth it !
I am still shocked at the experience we had. I use viator for trips and never came across something like this. Our van stopped at Stanley park, shortly after leaving the town and we got back after taking photos. Some travelers were still outside. The driver approached us and said that he is sorry to ask us to leave the bus and he will give us money for a taxi to go back to our hotel. The reason was those who were waiting outside have refused to travel with us. We refused to leave and then the driver gave the phone to us to speak to his boss who said that all passengers in the van want us to quit. Then I asked from one of the people who were already on the van, who said they have not said so. I told the "boss" that if other people didn't want to travel with us it is not our problem, but to arrange alternative transport for them without canceling our trip which we planned for the last day in Vancouver. Then he suggested us to wait for him to pick us up and do the tour. Although I did not agree to this, my friends did not want to continue. So we got off the bus and 4 others were also with us. The people who didn't want to continue with us hand shaked and thanked the driver and uttered offensive things to us. Later the "boss" came in a much better vehicle- Mercedes and profusely apologised. We initially thought of getting a refund and leave as we were so upset with the whole encounter. But as he was well mannered and polite we decided to continue. Later we learnt that those who want us out were Americans. The other group were Canadians- born in Philippines. We had 3 doctors (Sri Lankans) and one engineer (UK citizen - born in SL) in our group. We travel often and this was an unforgettable and extremely unpleasant experience. The utmost racism occured in a democratic country is beyond belief. The whole situation was handled very unprofessionally. Throughout our holiday, we all were deeply disturbed emotionally. I wish to apologise for the long review, but we do not want anybody else to go through a similar experience. We also took an Alaskan transfer from Whittier to Anchorage and at the very onset, the driver announced that people belonging to many nationalities, cultures and religions travel in the bus and everybody has to treat co- passengers equally and with respect, I would like to suggest to add a similar clause in your site terms and conditions- and if somebody thinks they are above other human beings, they should leave, not the others.
This might be the best thing to do in/ from Vancouver..! The trip includes visit to Gondolas, Shanon Falls, Whistler village.. the Mini-bus driver who is the guide too will take you up to the Whistler village. Our guide/driver was very good and well enthusiast to show us the places and attractions. But he seemed to have issue with credit card for paying Gondola fees.... I think credit cards should be appreciated too..! Though you will have to pay additional charge for Gondola rides but that is the best part of the trip... do not miss that at all..!!! It was Soooooooooooooooooo GOOD...! I loved the entire trip so much that would love to recommend this tour..!
