In depth walking tour led by a very knowledgeable resident. An extremely good overview of the city’s history. It was about 3 hours long and we tracked 3.3 miles in all.

Fio was a wonderful guide. Her wealth of knowledge about Vancouver was incredible. We covered so much of the downtown area and she had wonderful stories about everywhere! Don't miss this walking tour!!
Magic, guide was knowledgeable, pace was set for the slowest walker, which was fine. We had a large group, 24-26 this was not a problem. Lots about the history around architecture - perfect just what we were looking for!
Awesome guide. Very knowledgeable about the entire history of Vancouver. Would highly recommend him again.
We always do a "free" walking tour in every city we explore as we usually get the best tours with very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides. Don't get me wrong our guide was lovely and the tour took us to some places we wouldn't have seen without her but we still don't know much about Vancouver - we were looking for the history and development of the city !
Always a good way to start a new city adventure as gives you an idea of layout of a city. Tour guise was knowledgeable and passionate. Good walking pace. Recommended $30 for 3hr tour.
Good information. Not too much walking. Didn’t cover much ground in 3 hours, but got good insights into the history of Vancouver.
An enjoyable tour covering interesting points of the city. Good for orientation. The guide was easy to listen to, engaging and knowledgeable. The group was a little large at around 30 people. Overall worth doing 👍
It gives you a good overview of the downtown core but it does not go into any extensive history of the various sites visited. Just very general information.
This tour had a lot of interesting facts and insights about not only the history of Vancouver but also the current culture of the city. Our guide Jon did an outstanding job of showing us the city along with his entertaining commentary.
The tour guide Vladimir was friendly enough but suggested a $30 tip when this was supposed to be based on how well the guide was performing. More often than not he was just time filling we weren’t moving on quick enough. He was talking about football players that we had no idea who they were. We left the tour after 30 minutes just to give you a bit of feedback.
A good way to start a vacation in Vancouver. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a good tip at the end of the tour.
Good guide, fun & informative.
Very nice tour and the guide managed the group well. I took off one star because the group was too large. Otherwise highly recommend the tour.
Best tour! I strongly recommend this tour!
It’s a nice overview of the main spots in the city and guide does her job to give the introductions. However, there’s not much sharing beyond the basics. So, overall, a rather basic walking tour but nothing above and beyond.
Hannah was both Professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent communicator . Learnt a great deal from her. Bravo Hannah, you are a credit! From a happy Aussie tourist
This was is amazing tour. Vancouver is filled with so much history. Alex was a great guide! He made many recommendations for things to do after the tour which we would have missed out on.
The guide was outstanding. We learned a lot about the city and the local culture.
Tour was exceptional Be prepared for a lot of information and learning We even had a local in our group that learnt something about her home town
Daniel our tour guide was great and very informative. We strolled down different avenues and street, learned bout the Marine building, the Library and Gas Town. He provided us with the name of his favorite coffee shops, restaurants and different activités that you should look into ( Stanley Park). Daniel also cautioned us about certain areas that we should avoid and that was really appreciated. Overall it was a very informative tour that allowed us to navigate the city the next day when we visited Stanley Park and China Town.
Tour was disappointing. We did a small loop. Tour guide was intolerant of others on the tour and members of the public, not us, but it was weird and uncomfortable, plus he brought his infant grandson with him. Grandson was about as good as you could possibly expect, and maybe there was a childcare crunch at home, but again not ideal. Guide was not particularly funny or charming. We have done a lot of free walking tours over the years, and this was definitely below average.
Nice tour of downtown Vancouver, saw a few things we would not have seen on our own, like the Marine building.. Very pleasant guide, (? Daniel) who was quite knowledgeable for being a fairly recent transplant. Overall enjoyable tour that is well worth the time!
Erika was a good guide who shared her extensive knowledge in an interesting and capable way.
The tour was very interesting and informative. Erika was an outstanding tour guide making everyone feel welcome and included. My only suggestions would be to shorten it a bit (cut down on the intro) and reduce the group size. We appreciated the microphone so that everyone could hear.
Daniel did a great job leading our group through the city of Vancouver. He is an animated, energetic, knowledgeable, and fun tour guide. He loves his home city and shares it in an interesting and very pleasant way. I enjoyed hearing anecdotes and learning so much about the city! I heartily recommend him!
Right from the start, Daniel was great. Had a long chat with him when checking in and he did this with all the guests. Was very informative on the tour and gave us lots of great information. Had a break just over half way through at the library and this really helped. Would definitely recommend this tour.
We did a 3-hour walking tour with Erika. She did a very good job considering the group was 35-40 people. She kept us together and insured we all safely crossed the many streets. Erika told us a lot of fun and interesting things about Vancouver. She used a microphone and speaker which helped. The highlight was going inside the Marine art deco building. Rest stop at the public library was needed. The group should have been split into two tours. Forty people are too many for one guide. We also took up a lot of sidewalk when we stopped.
I have been on a lot of walking tours here and in Europe and this was one of the best. Our guide, Daniel, was truly amazing. He made the tour interesting, fun and informative. He showed us things, like the Marine Building, that we would have totally missed. We loved every minute of it. Highly recommend. My 16 year old granddaughter totally agrees.
Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide, Daniel. Friendly, funny and informative.
Great tour of Vancouver. Daniel was passionate, funny and very knowledgeable of the history of Vancouver.
Daniel was informative and great delivery with humour too 😄
What a nice way to start a visit to Vancouver! Daniel was a great tour guide and a wealth of information about the city. He kept everyone engaged by asking questions and remembering people’s stories and home countries. . There were about 25 guests on our tour from all around the world. I have booked other walking tours in new cities and it has always been a great experience.
Good history on architecture and some of the original people of the city. Most loved the respect shown toward First Nation peoples.
A really interesting 3 hours doing some things never would have done if just on my own. Interesting and informed guide even though it was her second week. Many thanks.
It was a great tour. Daniel has a lot of knowledge about the city. He is a very nice and cheerful guide.
Worthwhile tour. Easy way to learn about Vancouver. Our guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable and did a very good job.
Good walking tour covering key sightseeing points in Vancouver. As it is free, it feels a bit bad faulting it. However, the guide does get remunerated via the gratuity (30 CAD) and I think a bit more effort reading about Canadian and world history wouldn't hurt. Our "local" guide hailing from Peru came across as naive, not knowing key history facts, for example why we celebrate Remembrance day on 11 November, or why Candaian troops took part in WW1.
Be prepared to be stood up. Waited fir 30 mins no tour guide turned up no contact to say they were not doing the tour
Fun and informative tour, lots of side info, room for questions, short break with great views over the city, 3 hrs passed by too quickly. Daniel you are the best - I recommend you to anyone who likes to get a great overview of the city center!
Good way to see the highlights of Vancouver for a short visit or preview the city and provide ideas for further site seeing for a longer visit. Good pace for our group of thee- 65 year olds ands yet interesting still for a 40 year old. We would recommend it and our guide Daniel was knowledgeable and entertaining.
Excellent 3hr walking tour with Monica who was both humorous and knowledgeable about the hidden history of vancouver.
We met our guide Monica out the front of Canada Place and the 15 of us set off on a journey around Vancouver. The tour is a mixture of the sights of the city and a bit of history about the origin of Vancouver and you get a nice cross section of the city if you only have limited time. The tour is Gratuity based and weve done many of them in the past through Guru Walk and have never been disappointed. I think the sweet spot for a walking tour is about 2 to 2.5 hours and this was a little long at 3 hours, but nonetheless fun and informative. If you only have a day and want to see a slice of the city it's a great way.
Good tour. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. So pleased we booked this tour. 4 happy Australians.
We loved our tour with Fio! Lots of laughs while we walked. Lots of learning, with an architecture focus. And lots of lovely photo opportunities in stunning Vancouver. Thanks Toonie Tours!
We really enjoyed our tour round Vancouver and our guide Fernando was very knowledgeable. We were the only two on the tour so it was very personal. We found out lots of information about Vancouver and places that we visited again including a bar and a restaurant. We would definitely recommend this tour and our guide.
Daniel was great…enthusiastic, knowledgeable with plenty of pertinent information.
Our guide, Daniel, was absolutely spectacular! They brought Vancouver history to life with incredible passion and deep local knowledge. I was particularly impressed by how smoothly they managed the entire itinerary while still offering great hidden-gem recommendations. Friendly, approachable, and accommodating—
We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Daniel. It was informative and interesting, delivered with good humour, there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and the pace of the tour worked well for our little group. We loved the practical tips thrown in about what and where to eat in Vancouver and about souvenir shopping, amongst the stories about history and architecture. The suggested payment is around CAD $30 per person, plus extra for tips.
This was a wonderful walking tour. Our guide, Ana, was very knowledgeable and gladly answered all questions; I really learned a lot about Vancouver. The tour was very interesting; Vancouver is a beautiful city. The only disappointment was that we toured on Canada Day (July 1) so some of the buildings the tour normally enters were closed for the holiday. We hope to visit those buildings on our own. Ana was very friendly and engaged with us.
