The perfect location for exploring downtown Vancouver. Close to the City Centre metro station and walking distance from everything between Gastown and Granville. The hotel is stunning, we had a spacious and very tastefully furnished room with a lovely city view. Beautiful bathrooms, countless amenities, extremely comfortable beds. We’ll come back for sure!
The hotel is located right in the city center, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The interior decor is exquisite, though it leans slightly toward a cluttered, old-fashioned style. The rooms are spotless—the bedding and linens, in particular, were extremely comfortable, allowing me to get a wonderful rest after a long journey. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and both check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The only downside was the air conditioner, which was so noisy that I had to turn it off. My guess is that the axial fan needs maintenance. Additionally, a heads-up about the minibar and fridge: the drinks cannot be moved. If you pick one up just to take a look and put it back without drinking it, you will unfortunately still be charged, as it counts as consumption. I fail to see how this benefits the guests; it seems to be solely for the hotel's own management convenience.
I had a wonderful stay at The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver! The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a cozy bed and a relaxing atmosphere. The room amenities were thoughtfully provided and made my stay even more convenient. A special thank you to Trang and Maylord for their friendly and attentive service. Their care and attention to detail made me feel welcome and well looked after. I truly appreciated their warm hospitality and would happily stay here again!
We had a great 4 night stay here. The check in process was smooth. We arrived past 10pm and the staff was friendly and accommodating during check in. The doormen always greeted us on the way in and out of the hotel. Rooms were clean, renovated, and modern. Comfortable bed and pillows. We always felt safe. This hotel is central to most touristy areas downtown. We were able to walk everywhere or take public transit. We didn't use the pool or go to the restaurant on site but both looked really nice. Convenient ice machine on our floor and water station in the lobby. Bring a reusable water bottle so you don't have to pay for the in-room hotel waters. Be careful if you move anything from the mini bar (food or drinks). They have sensors and you will get charged if anything is removed. Overall, highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.
We recently stayed at this hotel and found the location to be its strongest feature. It’s only a short walk to English Bay and the Harbour front, with plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. If convenience and walkability matter to you, this area is hard to beat. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely maintained, and the beds were great. However, despite being marketed as a 5‑star property, the overall experience didn’t fully match that standard. Considering the price we paid for a supposed 5‑star stay, the amenities felt underwhelming, especially compared to other 3‑ and 4‑star hotels we’ve stayed at that offered more value and better in‑room features. Another issue we encountered was being charged for consuming something from the room cooler, even though we never opened it. This was frustrating and added to the feeling that the stay didn’t match the price point. I also want to mention, respectfully, that the staff did not feel particularly warm or welcoming. As a person of color, I felt a noticeable difference in how I was treated compared to other guests. This is based on my personal experience and I acknowledge I could be mistaken, but it did affect how I felt during the stay. Overall, the hotel delivers on location and room comfort, but falls short on amenities, value for money, and hospitality. For the price, I expected a more genuinely 5‑star experience.
