Stopped here for only one night enroute to Banff, Didn't arrive until about 6pm just before a coach party which was lucky. Check in was quick and easy, its been a long time since I had an actual key for a room. There are no lifts to the second floor so any heavy cases have to be carried. Room was spacious clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay.
Managed to get to the bar to eat before the coach party did otherwise we would have been waiting a good while. Food was good and arrived quickly I can recommend the ribs.
Bed was comfy and we had a good nights sleep, breakfast was ok not a huge amount of choice but enough to get you started for the day.
We had a river view room so could sit and watch the trains trundle by.
Beautiful, quaint inn overlooking the South Thompson River with Kentucky-style rooms; a nice place to relax. The air conditioning in the rooms works very well, and the property is quite comprehensive, with bikes available, a nearby hike, and a fitness centre. The staff are friendly, and when I was there, the new chef, Theo, had just begun. The breakfast is quite good, and the dinner was fantastic—I recommend ordering the steak frites! Perfect place for anyone looking to stay in the Kamloops area for a weekend getaway.
My husband and I had our wedding here 20 years ago and didn't stay overnight so we decided our anniversary would be a nice time to stay. We were disappointed that the pool and the hot tub were out of commission but the bedroom had a Jacuzzi. Super clean and the grounds are beautiful. The restaurant was so good I would go back just for the food. Now we didn't receive the bottle of wine we were told about as a gift but the experience was great anyways! Thank you to the staff for being so kind and accommodating
Pool and hot tub were out of service, rooms had no fridge. The breakfast that should be free eggs, toast and hash brown, which is included in other hotels continental breakfast they charged $19 per person. This hotel is a total scam
Our stay with a group from Poland at South Thompson Inn was absolutely wonderful. The location is breathtaking, surrounded by beautiful scenery and peaceful nature, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with stunning views of the river and mountains. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. In addition, the kitchen serves delicious dinners and homemade wine 😍
We also enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere, well-maintained grounds, and excellent amenities. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, creating a truly memorable experience (evening with fire and marshmallows 😍). The combination of beautiful surroundings, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding hospitality made our stay unforgettable.
I highly recommend South Thompson Inn to anyone visiting the Kamloops area.
