Sooke Harbour House

We did not stay at the hotel itself, but ate at their restaurant for dinner and needed to leave a review. This was the PERFECT dining experience! Our server, Barb, was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind when we told her we had travelled to Sooke for our honeymoon and immediately brought out celebratory glasses of Prosecco. She was very personable and helped us navigate the menu. Both mine and my husband’s dishes (the king salmon and the burger dip) were some of the best food we’ve ever gotten at a restaurant. The chefs have crafted something truly special here. The cherry on top was the overall cozy atmosphere and beautiful view of the water to enjoy while you eat. We would return to Sooke just to come back and experience this level of dining again (and maybe stay at the actual hotel!)

We didn’t stay over night but by luck decided to eat at the outdoor restaurant. There were three of us. We all ordered Fish n Chips and when the orders arrived, we all said they were the best we ever had! The server was so wonderful. She brought extra ice for my water and was so willing to get anything else we needed! We WILL be going back!

We did not stay here but had brunch in the restaurant. Although my husband enjoyed his breakfast, apart from the rotting lettuce in the salad garnish, my breakfast was ruined. After asking for poached eggs that were “jammie” I specifically explained I did not want them runny, nor did I want them hard. After waiting a good half hour, we were served our meals. My first poached egg was definitely runny. Our server eventually returned to check how we were doing. She offered to return it to the kitchen but I declined saying I didn’t want to wait any longer and preferred not to watch my husband eat while I sat there. My second egg was even more undercooked with even the egg white still runny. It was inedible. Again our server offered to get me something else but my husband was done at that point. I asked she please make it right. After speaking to the manager she “comped” my tea and took 15% off my eggs Bennie. SO disappointing. The lettuce on my plate was also rotting and I was never offered more hot water for my tea. Although the setting was beautiful and our server was very polite and friendly, we will not return. We had hoped to stay at the hotel on our next visit to Sooke but we are no longer interested. For a hotel that prides itself in the details, they completely missed the mark on this one!

They accommodated our large group of 10 for a last minute booking and even changed the time when we needed it a little earlier! The service was amazing, Rachel was so kind and attentive! Gorgeous view and the brunch was incredible. Strawberry matcha was really good and pancakes were so yummy!
