Very gorgeous place and hotel, the only downside is that though the rooms were nice- they didn’t have a working fan in the bathroom. The fan was just for show. So there’s no air circulation going on there. Also when room service came it was clear they didn’t really clean up. As we were leaving and making sure we didn’t leave anything, we noticed chips on the floor in the back closer to the window. We didn’t eat any chips nor did we have any for the entirety of the trip.

We had a great stay and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Definitely get a room with a water view! Some random observations: - All the furniture in the room seemed oversized, like I felt like I was in Alice in wonderland - Shower was great! Don’t love the curtain but size and pressure was nice with good products - Pool and hot tub are indoor/outdoor and you can see the sunset from it - Some minor upkeep issues with the toilets in the men’s locker room being kinda filthy but no other major issues - Restaurant was good and service was great
Nice view … the staff were amazing for the price it’s should have more amenities in the room no Kitchenete TV didn’t work no access to data on my phone in the room they want you hook up to their sketchy wifi so they can watch. This hotel looked very Greek like Zeus’s acropolis… felt like I was the sacrifice with the price I paid for a view of the parking lot… I don’t remember Greeks all having blonde hair 👱♀️
I try not to post negative reviews, but on this occasion I felt the situation could not be left without comment. Our party of 3 stayed here for 1 night as a treat following a road trip to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and my Father in Laws 85th Birthday. I emailed all 6 hotels we were staying at to let them know the significance of our trip and this was one of only two that failed to even acknowledge it. The hotel looks fantastic, but the service left us feeling cold and unwelcome, especially in the restaurant, which was basically a disaster and a shambles in customer service. We arrived a little early, but our rooms were ready, which was excellent. However, the reception person was efficient, but showed little warmth. As it was our final evening of a wonderful holiday, we thought we would treat ourselves and eat in the restaurant. We booked a table for 1930 and as their bar was closed, asked if we could have a pre dinner drink in their restaurant bar area. We were told that would be fine so we arrived at 1900 to be told that their bar staff were too busy and we couldn't come in until 1930!!! We were left waiting in reception for 30 minutes and frankly if we could have gone elsewhere we would have. At 1930 we went back to the restaurant and saw the gentleman who told us initially we could have a pre dinner drink and he didn't understand his colleague's approach. He apologised and said he would 'make it up to us'. We ordered our drinks and dinner choices. 2 dinners arrived and were delicious, but my wife's dinner was cold and the vegetables basically raw. Even though things were going from bad to worse, we politely pointed out things weren't good and rather than taking away the dinner and bringing a hot one back, they brought new hot and cooked veg on a separate plate and my wife was left to swap out the contents. She still had to ssk for hot sauce and then the unwanted cold food was simply left on the table. The replacement was delicious, but the manner of how the situation was dealt with was poor. We received a full bill, with no recognition of the shambles which had ensued. I'm not sure how they intend to " make it up to us" after partially ruining our final evening. Not what I would expect at any establishment. Such a shame and easily avoided.
Well took a chance with this place, since it is close to our family that lives near by. When we first got here, it was nice, clean and the staff was friendly. Gotten our rooms for the weekend and it's not too bad, usual hotel rooms. Bathrooms are ok but the showers feel a little cheap. But the view to the ocean lake in the morning is grand and great to see before the start of the day. The swimming pool is decent and so was the hot tub as well. Yet to try the restaurant they had but was too busy having home made food from my family. But at least this place gave me and my mother a very good sleep when we are recovering from the hikes and site seeing. The coffee store was good and had a good cup of Hot Chocolate follow by some good Banana Bread. Bottom line, if were to visit Sooke again and see our family. I'll be happy to book a room here once again and may try the food this time. But maybe next time it be wise if they add vending machines in those who need a drink or a snack if one cannot leave the rooms. Just saying
