Great location and basic room but the service is above and beyond the standard! We were out exploring all day, and when we came back, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room had been cleaned perfectly. Our clothes and bedding were neatly arranged, and everything that needed to be replenished had been fully restocked. The attention to detail and excellent housekeeping made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

As a professional who works in big tech and has to travel for work, and has stayed in more than 100 hotels worldwide, I can confidently say that this was the worst experience I have ever had. I pride myself on being fair, and this is the first negative review I have ever posted. The frustration began when I requested an early check-in, as the regular check-in is at 3 p.m.; I was told to come in person despite the long drive and traffic, only to be told that no rooms were available. I returned at 3:10 p.m. and was asked to wait 10 minutes. I came back at 3:25 pm, room was still not ready. Because I was only in Vancouver for a 24-hour stay and had a restaurant reservation and an appointment to make, I needed to shower and change, and ultimately missed those plans. I checked back around 3:40 p.m. and was told the room was still being cleaned, so I waited in my car in front of the building. Since no one called me until 4:30 p.m., I left and booked a room at the Hyatt Regency instead, and when I called back for a refund around 6 p.m., they refused, claiming they had sent a text that failed to go through. To make matters worse, the entrance is in an alley. When I arrived around 10:30 p.m., there was a party going on with a lot of noise, and people were drunk in the entrance. I came to Paradox to spend the night, assuming it was a better, more luxurious hotel than the Hyatt since I paid twice the price in Paradox. The room itself was also not up to luxury standards and was quite dirty, with dirt visible in the shower, on sliding doors, and on all surfaces in the room (photos attached ).
The Paradox Vancouver is an exceptional hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, the rooms are beautiful and modern, and the entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. While the entire team is wonderful, seeing Anelen is always a true highlight of my trip every time I stay here. Her standard of care is unmatched; she keeps the room absolutely spotless and flawlessly replenished every single day. What really stands out is how incredibly thoughtful she is—she always remembers the little things and anticipates exactly what a guest needs to feel comfortable. Her amazing effort and genuine warmth make the hotel feel like a cozy second home. Anelen is an absolute gem, and her hard work makes a world of difference!
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary, and we had an amazing experience. The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The service was excellent, and every member of the team was welcoming, professional, and attentive. Everything exceeded our expectations, and the hotel made our anniversary stay truly memorable. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful experience.
We had a wonderful stay at the Paradox Hotel. The staff were attentive and professional, the rooms were spotless, fresh, and beautifully updated, and the bottle of wine was a thoughtful touch. The concierge service was exceptional - guiding us to an amazing cocktail lounge and speakeasy that we loved. They gave us some chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary stay. Highly recommend. Thanks!
