We had a wonderful experience hosting a tea ceremony at the Metropolitan Hotel for our family of around 20 people. We stayed in the Taipan Suite, which was beautiful, spacious, and the perfect setting for such a special gathering. A special shoutout to Julia O., who was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and attentive throughout the entire process. She connected us with the right members of her team to help coordinate our stay and went out of her way to make everything feel easy and seamless. Her kindness, responsiveness, and willingness to help truly stood out to us. Thank you to Julia and the rest of the Metropolitan team for the wonderful hospitality and for helping make our gathering so memorable.

Nice 4 star hotel albeit a bit dated in many places. Our room was a goodish size, bed super comfy and plenty of storage space. Bathroom dated but good shower, few amenities but everything you need. Location is excellent, bang in the middle of Downtown. Service was good but no water refills, coffee was mid. Had a drink in the bar, good beer
I had some Marriott points left and was looking for a place to stay during a trip to Vancouver. I chose this hotel cause the price seemed reasonable, and it was actually better than I expected. The room was spacious, and the city view was not bad. The pool and gym were decent too. Some of the gym equipment was very old and didn’t work properly, but considering the low price, I think it was still okay. There was also supposed to be a library, but it was closed the whole time. I’m not sure why they even list it as an amenity if it’s never open🤔 There was another small area where you could sit and relax, and it had some books, but there wasn’t really anything worth reading. The location was also good. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a convenient area, this place is not a bad choice.
We stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel for one night after our Alaska cruise. The hotel was nice, the location was excellent, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, we found a bed bug in our room. We immediately notified the front desk, and the staff handled the situation professionally by moving us to a suite. They even checked in with us a couple of hours later to make sure everything was okay, which we appreciated. Even so, it made for a very stressful night. We were anxious about the possibility of more bed bugs, and repacking all of our belongings and changing rooms was an inconvenience. Since it was just one night and finding another hotel at the last minute would have been difficult, we decided to stay—but it definitely put a damper on our visit. What disappointed me most was what happened afterward. There was no follow-up after checkout or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Given the circumstances, I would have expected some gesture of goodwill, especially as a Gold Elite member. To add to the frustration, this stay isn't even showing up in my Marriott account, so something appears to have gone wrong with the reservation. While I appreciate how the staff handled the immediate situation, I expected better overall customer service after an incident like this.
Visiting from the UK, I recently stayed at The Metropolitan Vancouver Howe Street, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the level of hospitality and genuine warmth stood out. Marija at the front desk was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Juan, also at the front desk, was equally professional and welcoming! A special mention has to go to Mario, the concierge, who truly made my stay memorable. Both Mario and Marija went above and beyond in a way that felt personal rather than routine - they genuinely made me feel at home. By the end of my stay, they felt more like friends than staff, which says a lot about the atmosphere they create - I can’t thank them both enough for making my stay truly exceptional! I’d also like to recognize a young member of the cleaning team from the Philippines (I regret not catching his name) who I often saw outside keeping the entrance spotless. He was consistently friendly and welcoming, always greeting me and other guests with a warm attitude. It’s those small but genuine interactions that really add up and make a difference. The service throughout my visit was exceptional, and it’s clear that the team takes real pride in what they do. It’s rare to come across such a high level of care and authenticity in hospitality. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver.
