I wound up booking a “Victoria” room instead of a “Signature” room. I guess it’s the non-renovated style with the Queen Anne style furnishings. OK, my bad… I thought I was getting the more modern room. However, we were greeted by a room full of flies and pretty worn-down furniture, wallpaper and carpeting. Even the hallways have sagging carpet. It seems that no effort is being put into the “Victoria” rooms to maintain the existing rooms. We’re still waiting on a can of bug spray to make the room livable tonight. It seems that the hotel manager has deemed us unworthy of an upgrade. The front desk staff are pleasant and seem to want to help, but are getting pushback. Not quite the way we wanted to started a vacation. Definitely not a luxe experience here.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Grand Pacific for two nights during our two week holiday in Canada. We were visiting Victoria for whale watching, and the location was excellent for exploring the city and getting to our activities. We had a very spacious room with two double beds and a small balcony. We only needed one bed, so the extra space was handy for our suitcases! The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and everything was well looked after, although the decor is a little dated in places. Service was great from the moment we arrived. There is paid daily parking on site, with valet parking available too, although we chose to park ourselves. The facilities were a real highlight. We used the gym, swimming pool, steam room and plunge pool. The gym is particularly impressive: it’s a proper, fully equipped gym used by local members as well as hotel guests, rather than the small, basic gym you often find in hotels. Definitely a big plus if you enjoy working out while travelling. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, although it looked fantastic and we wished we’d tried it! Overall, a comfortable hotel with excellent facilities, friendly service and a great location. I’d happily recommend it for a stay in Victoria.
Nice enough hotel. Our suite was roomy and had comfortable beds. Other two rooms I booked had issues with the sink and shower not draining. Not the end of the world but for the cost, would have expected better maintenance. On site restaurant, Fathom, is nice. Great location right by the harbor and tourist attractions.
Check in was smooth the receptionist was professional but not that friendly. Room was lovely, firm king-size bed, fridge, large TV, desk and we had a balcony over the marina with lovely views (paid extra for this) overall the room was spacious and clean although wardrobe very small especially for two people staying quite a few days, bathroom adequate with plenty of towels. We had two breakfasts at the hotel restaurant but after the second went next door to Days Inn which was definitely more cost effective and in our opinion a better menu. This hotel is in a great, central position and all in all we had a comfortable stay although in hindsight could have paid alot less money and still had a decent stay elsewhere.
Nice hotel, close to the Parliament building. Room was a good size, with 2 queen beds, a desk, and a cabinet which had a TV and mini fridge. There was a small closet, which if you were staying with a full suitcase of clothes might not fit the suitcase or all your clothes in. Large bathroom stocked with plenty of towels and the usual prefilled soaps etc. (prefilled as in, in a container on the wall). There wasn't a bathroom fan so it did get quite humid, but with the patio door opened, that helped. Beds were clean and crisp. Daily housekeeping if you wanted it. I'd forgotten to put the sign up for no service and came back to my room pristine with my make up/toiletries laid out on the counter, on a facecloth, and my pj's neatly folded in my bed 👀 My view was not water facing, it over looked the hotel next door but if you had a Harbour view I'm sure it would be lovely. I asked to be away from the ice machine and elevator, which they did, so it was quiet. There is an East wing and a West wing, clarify which side your room is to avoid confusion later on, especially when meeting up with friends ("I'll meet you at the elevator bank", not realizing there are two wings, each with their own elevators). The gym and pool is really nice, the equipment in the gym is newer and well taken care of. Locals are permitted to use both so expect non-hotel folk to be there (they're all lovely all the same :)). There is a restaurant on site and a small Cafe. I did not go to the restaurant but my group did and said it was nice. The Cafe had a host of coffees and sandwiches and pastries. Nice, but nothing to write home about.
