Booked this stay as a quick getaway adventure from Vancouver (biked from Swartz Bay into Victoria - Lochside trail deserves its own 5 stars). We had such a nice stay at the Delta. Shoutout to Michael who greeted us at the door as we were dealing with our bikes, bags, and a just-awake-and-confused toddler. He also took our bikes down to the secure parkade storage (no charge!). The front desk staff were very kind and helpful - they even had a little bag of bath toys for our kiddo (which he loved, despite the room not having a tub). We were fortunate that they upgraded us to a water-view room. The views of the harbour are super fun and kept us & the toddler entertained. Lots of boats and float plane activities during the day, and the lights on the legislature at night. The room seemed recently updated (very nice bed), and they brought us a pack'n'play for the little guy. Also had a very nice happy-hour meal at the onsite restaurant. Nice to see so many local items on the menu & taps. Location is a ~10minute walk over a bridge into the core of downtown, but that suites us as this side of the inlet is nice and quiet. Looking forward to staying again!

I recently stayed at the Delta for three nights. The room and property were nice. I had access to the club lounge and the staff there were good. The location is great and the view is beautiful. Just a quick walk from the main attractions. However, this hotel describes itself as luxury and I didn’t find it to have a luxury level of service. Upon arrival, there wasn’t anyone waiting to help escort us into the hotel or take our bags. I had to ask the front desk multiple times for help and was met with a weird ambivalence. Additionally, they weren’t very accommodating or helpful. We had a couple hours to kill before our ferry and while I understand not having availability for a late check out, the front desk staff clearly didn’t want to help us and treated us as a nuisance for asking. They wouldn’t extend our access to the club lounge despite us being told earlier they could. It left a bad taste in my mouth after spending a good amount of money to stay and expecting better service. The service was pretty bare minimum aside from a wonderful young bellman who was overworked and trying his best. If you want a great view and location but don’t care as much about service this hotel is nice. Don’t expect highly skilled or hospitable staff. Some of them were rude.
* NOT Truly Dog Friendly * (Stayed 4 nights May 2026) We've stayed at Ocean Pointe so many times and have always loved it, so this trip we were really excited to finally bring our dog (a tiny 9-pound, hypoallergenic, very well-behaved Havanese) along with us. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a pretty disappointing experience. First – and this is a big one – the resort is marketed as dog friendly, but honestly, it really isn't. You can't bring your pet into any of the food and beverage outlets, and despite the beautiful outdoor patios, you're not allowed to sit on those with your dog either. The excuse we were given was that accessing the patios required walking through the restaurant — but we found this hard to accept, because that was never an issue at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel, The Empress, or many other restaurants we visited during the same trip. All of them were happy to have our business and had no problem with us carrying our small dog (or walking her) through their dining areas to reach the outdoor spaces. So that reasoning felt more like a policy choice than a genuine restriction. The only option Ocean Pointe offered us for dining, was to order takeout and eat outside with plastic dishes. For a resort of this caliber, that's just not good enough. We had also booked and paid for a "Club Room", but it appears that because we had a pet, our room was downgraded without any advance notice or explanation. We only figured this out after the fact — and honestly, a heads-up at the time of booking would have been the right thing to do. We shouldn't have had to discover this on our own. We also paid $25 a night (totaling $100 for our stay) for the dog fee, which is supposed to cover extra cleaning – but our room and bedding (#408) actually smelled like wet dog when we arrived. That's not a great start, especially when you're paying a premium. To her credit, the lovely lady at checkout was wonderful and did adjust our bill upon checkout due to our unhappiness, and we genuinely appreciated that gesture. It just shouldn't have come to that. The new renovations feel quite stark and cold compared to the warm atmosphere we remembered. We'd love to see better bedding and pillows instead – the mattress was very firm and really could have used a proper luxurious mattress topper, plus very flimsy cheap duvet. Again, not quality bedding at all. Otherwise, great location and wonderful accommodating staff! We truly hope Ocean Pointe takes this feedback to heart regarding their pet policy, because we've genuinely loved this property for years. We just can't recommend it the way we used to. 😕
I brought my family here for a special trip: it was the first time we had all travelled together, and I wanted them to feel special and cared for, so I did meticulous research into finding the best hotel in Victoria for us to stay at and landed on this one. What sold it to me was the view of the water from the rooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and being able to see the government buildings across the water and watching the seaplanes take off and land. When we arrived, there was initially an issue with the room, but Andres was there, and he immediately rectified the issue and took a proactive approach to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Not only did he resolve our issue, but he went above and beyond to make this trip very special for us. My family told me afterwards that this was one of the best trips they have been on, and it was partly thanks to Andres' exemplary care and thoughtfulness. He is a real gem, and Delta Hotels is very lucky to have him.
Rooms were good other than there’s no carpets or area rugs anywhere. Seems cold. Service at front desk was good. Service in restaurant was poor and slow. Especially listening to one guy talking about how great he was and that he surfs 6 months of the year and he’s only there to have his Marriott discount. Location is super nice except to get across in the water taxi is $16 each for a 5 minute ride. Restaurant was too overpriced for what they serve. Pool area was great. Gym was great. Our room had the climate control system that kept clicking loudly all night overall we loved our stay.
