The Riverhouse

Window wouldn’t close, TV was broken, lots of noise and ruckus outside, poor facilities— but most of all, rude and nasty owners. I brought some simple concerns to the owner, Abi, who told me I was wasting her time in doing so. I would say Abi and her brother, Charlie, know very little about hospitality and customer service. Please understand The Riverhouse is a poorly-maintained hostel. Far better real hotels and lodging scattered around the city, all with better pricing.

I booked in advance and will say that my room charge with the added £5 breakfast was one of the most economical stays in the UK/Europe. It was outstanding value for money. The family, Charlie and Abbey are delightful, hardworking, young people that I loved supporting. The cleaning cannot be outdone even in luxury hotel. It was spotless and well maintained. The location is walking distance to the things anyone might like in Cardiff, I think. I went to the National Museum (free) and the Castle (£16.50 and worth every p). Breakfast was worth the price. Eggs to your own liking and your own cooking. Apples and bananas hand cut by Abbey or Charlie.

We were pleasantly suprised at how close we were to the stadium having never visited Cardiff before! The location was perfect! The rooms were clean, the layout was was great, facilities cannot fault! Everything we needed was there for us. Your package was so helpful & included everything we needed to know before arriving. We loved our stay so much that we will be back!!

Room was really clean and modern lots better than we expected ! The bathrooms were lovely too and were always clean when used. The check in process was really easy as they send you a video of how to get into the property. Really good location too we went to see pitball at blackweir fields and is in walking distance from there and the rest of the city. Would defo come back again !
