Great location not far from the centre of Usk. Good selection of beer and friendly service. Only four bedrooms but these are fine for two people.

My mum's lived in Usk for years. Why haven't I been here before? Such a lovely pub with excellent food. Landlord a very nice guy. Dog friendly. Scotch egg and chips is the wise choice.

We stopped for lunch recently. What a pleasant surprise to find an establishment that is traditionally what a pub should be, A pleasant welcoming by the barman, parked right outside and enjoyed the drinks we ordered and the lunch that was delicious served warm and was very reasonably priced. The beer was good and served properly. This pub has restored my faith in British hostelry it should be used as a benchmark.

No carpark but outside the pub road parking with no restrictions. Friendly greeting from the barmaid , quick check in all information given and shown to the room . Asked if they were doing food as checked website to see what time they stopped said 9pm on website but was told they stopped at 8pm just after we arrived but the chef said he would cook for us as not many other places to eat in Usk ! Breakfast is pre order the night before if you want it . Room was up a flight of stairs Snug room but to be expected from a old pub Shower cubicle was small for a big guy like me But was hot and powerful Bed comfortable Bt WiFi was good . Evening meal was excellent Simple choices and good value. Would stay again if in the area.
