“I give my dog better customer service and I don’t even have a dog” I arrived to the hotel door, there was a note - call number - not 24/7 staffed (I was later told on the phone this location is actually staffed 24/7). Of course I rapidly dialled the number *beep *beep *beep… 35 minutes pass on hold. Rain pouring down on me. Cars wizzing by! In the distance I see the bold lights of the Mercure hotel. I walk 25 minutes (in the rain). I Shower. I received a call. ‘Hello quay apartments’ - let’s say I’m not best pleased. I politely tell them - “ I give my dog better customer service and I don’t even have one.” Moral of the story - don’t book this place - I’d love to say it was because the room wasn’t great or the wifi was slow but no it was because I never got in.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS DURING ANY DAY THATS HOT ! No air con in bedroom. Nearly passed out as was over 40 degrees c in bedroom, had to book another hotel and not even given half the money back got nothing . The receptionist said not first time this has been complained about . First ever hotel I’ve had any issues with , just avoid!!!

Wifi bad (actually horrendous) — use your cellular data to prevent self-destruct. No windows/ventilation. No clearing of smells or proper cooling/heating. HYPER-dust allergenic. We're talking thousands of PPM dust all over the place, especially the bedroom. With my allergies, I can't say I spent a single proper night breathing. If those things don't bother you...location great, service/communications alright, kitchen well-stocked, furnished and maintained. Parking convenient.

The rooms are fantastic, spacious, quiet, and neat. There are also convenience stores right outside which is really nice if you want to stock up on provisions. If you are in one of the higher floors, you get a good view of Newport and the canals and bridges, but it looked misty and the time I took the pictures, hopefully the external windows are cleaned regularly to ensure a better view. The major negative is the environment outside (especially the car park). It looked dirty and not well maintained, getting and getting out was difficult, no clear instructions and several of the exit doors did not work. I felt unsafe in the car park especially at night. If you don’t need to use the car park, you should be okay. But I wouldn’t recommend the car park if you come with a car.
