Disappointed with service. Contacted in advance to advise of allergies and thought everything would be ok. Whilst I was led to believe there would be no issues, it turned out to be not ideal. Gluten free/lactose free veg selection was poor, and no milk free burger buns. Mainly disappointed as we made the effort to advise in advance. Food quality was fine. Not great for kids or fussy eaters.
This was the most welcoming place we've been with incredible hosts, amazing food and a great range of drinks (it is a pub with b&b rooms). It is such an incredible, peaceful location in a beautiful area of England. Would give more stars if l could. A fantastic place for an English pub experience with a decent splash of luxury.
Excellent roast, beautiful lobster and prawn risotto, great drink choices, really friendly staff, dog friendly, lovely terrace however a bit too hot this weekend but cool inside. Bit of a shame we had to put up with some old guy complaining about our dog, despite his own causing a fuss but hey, not the pub’s fault. Definitely recommended.
We stayed here for a weekend. The staff are really helpful - efficient but relaxed too. The room was very pleasant and well thought out - I noticed the high- quality bed-linen, bathroom fittings, etc. Dinner was excellent as was the breakfast. There were a good range of choices and everything we had was delicious.
A friend and I came for a Sunday roast and it was one of the best roast dinners I think I’ve ever had. A little pricy but honestly it was delicious. I had the nut roast and my friend had the chicken. No complaints. The cauli cheese was the best part for sure! Has lots of non alc beer options which I appreciated.
