Went here on my own for a spa and stay over gift. The views and building is a fantastic first impression. The building is surrounded by trees and you are immersed in nature which is my kinda place. The two trails you can follow are a lovely little extra and I loved finding seating areas in many places I explored. I was allowed in the spa area before I was able to check in so arrived around 11 to use the facilities I don't think I have ever been to a hotel or spa where every member of staff is so helpful and friendly. The food!!! 👌👌 The room I was given wasn't one of the luxury ones that was in the photos on their website but it was clean and everything I needed. There was no rush for me to leave once I was checked out either and I was so relaxed in there lounges and gardens that I didn't want to leave so will most definitely be going back here for another visit Thank you to you all that helped make this a great time for me

We stayed at Ashdown Park for two nights while attending a wedding, and unfortunately our experience was incredibly disappointing. There were issues from the moment we arrived, from a stained bath in our room, to waiting over two hours for two drinks and some chips on the terrace. We did raise the delay with the bar after waiting around 45 minutes, but despite this, the drinks still took another 30 minutes to arrive and the food took even longer. After dinner, we asked for our drinks to be taken outside but were left to carry our own bottle of wine and glasses through the hotel which was quite embarrasing. There were issues with the gym, where two members of staff gave us incorrect opening information, followed by an extremely abrupt and rude interaction with Reception when my partner tried to clarify this. We also had an uncomfortable late-evening interruption at our room from someone we were unable to establish was actually a member of staff. Any one of these things might have been overlooked, but taken together they made for a very poor stay. What made it more frustrating was the response when we emailed afterwards to raise these issues. The hotel acknowledged several of them, including the service delays and the behaviour of the Receptionist. However, after repeatedly explaining our concerns and why we felt the matter remained unresolved, we were ultimately told, quite bluntly, “this matter is considered closed, and we will not be entering into any further correspondence regarding it.” For a hotel of this price and the standard it presents itself as offering, we expected much better. The setting is beautiful and there were some genuinely lovely members of staff, but unfortunately the service and the way our concerns were handled afterwards left a very sour impression. We certainly won't be returning.
We recently had our wedding at Ashdown Park Hotel and honestly could not have asked for a more perfect day. Every single member of staff was absolutely amazing from start to finish — so attentive, professional and genuinely lovely throughout the entire experience. The location is stunning and my husband and I already can’t wait for our next stay. The food was 10/10 and all of our guests commented on how incredible everything was. The bridal suite and honeymoon suite were absolutely stunning and made our stay feel even more special and luxurious. We arrived at the Honeymoon suite to a hand written card from the staff with two personalised embroidered bath robes with our new married name on… another beautiful personal touch from the hotel! A very special mention has to go to Alice, our wedding coordinator, who completely exceeded our expectations. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she ensured the entire day ran perfectly from beginning to end. Her organisation, support and attention to detail made us feel so relaxed and looked after throughout. We are so grateful to the whole team for giving us the most unforgettable wedding day. We would recommend Ashdown Park Hotel to anyone looking for a truly beautiful wedding venue with seriously exceptional service from start to finish! Thank you so much to all of the amazing staff at Ashdown Park, my husband and I can’t wait to return :)
Super lovely hotel steeped in interesting history. The service throughout our one night stay was superb. Our room was pleasant and the grounds are beautiful with a golf course, tennis courts etc. Our evening food in the restaurant was exemplary and it was extra lovely eating to the live pianist. The breakfast buffet and cooked food from the menu was excellent. There was a high degree of allergy awareness too. I had an excellent massage by Millie. The spa facilities were very clean my only point that prevented this from being a five star was the absence of beds around the pool and steam and sauna. Still an excellent place to visit.
Beautiful building and location. Room had everything we needed. The bed super comfy Dinner and service wonderful, drinks however very expensive! I was shocked when I ordered an alperol spritz for £20, so expect higher than London prices. Also everything you buy even drinks has a 12% tip added. We came here to use the spa and have treatments. Lovely setting but sadly for us it was full of children screaming and diving in etc, so my husband and I waited in the bar from 3pm until 5.30 to see if we could squeeze in to swim but for hours still full of children. I am a mum myself so it’s lovely to see children having fun; however if we had have known it wasn’t adults only we wouldn’t have booked. Sadly we didn’t use the facilities for this reason due to all children playing in the pool and the sauna and steam room were out of action… the only saving Grace for me was I had a lovely massage by Millie. What an asset she is to Ashdown Park. I do hope she gets the recognition she deserves and not paid apprentice wage. The massage was £140. Thank you Millie
