I recently stayed at the Radisson Aquatica Barbados and while the hospitality was genuinely excellent, the overall experience didn’t match the price point or expectations. The staff were consistently warm, helpful, and welcoming — especially the pool/beach attendant, who was outstanding, and the cleaning team, who were lovely throughout my stay. Their service is the highlight of this hotel. However, the rooms are very dated and in need of renovation. The carpets are old, there is visible rust and mould, and the air‑conditioning units are extremely loud. If you turn the AC off, condensation builds up, leaving the floors slippery and unsafe. These issues made the room feel uncomfortable and not reflective of the rate being charged. The restaurant is expensive with limited options, which makes dining on-site feel poor value for money compared to what you can get elsewhere on the island. There were also many additional charges that weren’t made clear at booking. A BBD $1400 hold per room was taken as a deposit, and told could take up to 4 weeks for your refund and an unexpected government hotel tax was added at checkout — costing an extra £200. It would have been helpful and more transparent if these fees were communicated upfront. Overall, while the staff were wonderful, the hotel itself feels run down, and the pricing does not match the standard of the rooms or facilities. You get better value for money at Airbnbs in Barbados. Unfortunately, I would not return.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ I recently stayed at the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados, where my room rate was approximately US$330 per night. The location is outstanding—right on the beautiful Carlisle Bay with crystal-clear water, soft white sand, and breathtaking ocean views. It's an ideal spot for swimming, relaxing, and watching the horses on the beach in the early morning. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although some areas of the property could benefit from modernization to better reflect the premium room rate. The restaurant offered good food, and the beachfront setting made every meal enjoyable. While US$330 per night feels expensive compared with the hotel's current condition, the unbeatable beachfront location, friendly service, and easy access to Bridgetown make it a worthwhile stay. With a few upgrades, this resort could truly justify its premium pricing. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would recommend it to travelers looking for one of the best beachfront locations in Barbados.
The best kept secret about this hotel is the restaurant! The dinner (we had ribs, soup, chicken wings and fish) was divine! Don’t let the older accommodations fool you, which were clean, neat and comfortable nestled on a lovely beach. We received service with a smile at every try turn from the hotel staff to the grounds people the the dining staff and bartender. I will come again. Save me some bread and butter please and thanks!
My daughter and I recently stayed at the Radisson Aquatica Barbados and had a wonderful experience. The beachfront location is beautiful, with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. What stood out most was the exceptional staff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Gisele and Judy at the front desk were friendly and professional, Sophia provided excellent restaurant service, and Akilah offered great tour recommendations. I’d also like to recognize drivers Mr. Drakes and Mr. Michael Jordan for making it easy to explore the island. Mr. Drakes especially went above and beyond with his kindness and local knowledge. This was a memorable father-daughter trip, made even better by the beautiful property and warm Barbadian hospitality. We look forward to returning to Barbados and would gladly stay at the Radisson Aquatica again.
Perfect location with one of the best beaches in Barbados! The beachfront setting is truly beautiful, and one of the unexpected highlights was the early mornings watching the racehorses come down to the beach for their bath and “spa day” — such a unique and memorable experience. Free parking was also a great convenience, and the property felt very safe throughout our stay. The cooling systems in the apartments worked exceptionally well, which was greatly appreciated. What truly made this stay enjoyable, however, was the staff. The reception team, supervisors, and management were absolutely outstanding — warm, accommodating, and genuinely committed to guest satisfaction. The restaurant staff were also consistently pleasant and welcoming. That said, the hotel itself is clearly in need of some much-needed TLC and refurbishment. The incredible staff helps you overlook many of the property’s shortcomings, but the owners really should invest in updating and maintaining the hotel. One important safety concern that needs immediate attention is the shower temperature control system, as it appears inconsistent and poses a real risk of someone being accidentally burned. Security staff could also benefit from being a bit more personable in their guest interactions. Overall, I had a great stay thanks largely to the exceptional team and unbeatable location. With some investment and care from ownership, this property could truly be outstanding.
