Scenic Walks With Mini Donkeys In The Beautiful Brecon Beacons

Lovely afternoon walking our gorgeous mini donkey in lush Welsh countryside. Our guide was excellent, really friendly and obviously totally loves her 2 donks. Birthday treat was the highlight of our holiday.

Wonderful experience walking Maverick & Goose the mini donkeys. A belated 60th birthday present from my family (we had to cancel the first date due to the weather but another was quickly scheduled). We did some grooming and cuddling too! Windy but pleasant walk, even though Storm Austen /Boelo had deposited plenty of water the day before. Wellies are a must! Julia the host is so knowledgable about the donkeys and obviously cares for them a great deal.

This was a truly wonderful experience, getting to know Maverick our donkey, including brushing him and some amazing donkey cuddles.

We were warmly welcomed by Julia on our arrival. She introduced us to the wonderful Maverick and Goose and then shared little gems of information about each one while we groomed them. We then went on our walk stopping for a picnic along the way. Julia's knowledge and guidance made the experience special. Maverick and Goose were an absolute delight and we would highly recommend a visit. Thank you Julia and your boys for a wonderful time

It was a great experience meeting Maverick & Goose very clever and very friendly Donkeys. particulaly enjoyed them doing agility, was a good laugh from start to finish. well worth a visit, you will be welcomed by Julia she looks after you and is very knowledgable about her 2 boys.

Booked a miniature donkey walk on the spur of the moment and really glad we did. Julia was so knowledgeable and friendly, but most of all you can just tell how passionate she is about her donkeys. The interaction with the donkeys (‘Maverick” and “Goose”) was thorough and involving throughout, and Julia lets you be very hands on with them both, starting with a simple groom, some basic, but important, instructions before the gentle walk down the valley. Yes, a petting zoo may be cheaper, but you get a real sense that these donkeys are living their best life with Julia looking after them, so to our family, this was far more important and enjoyable. We had the best day ever with Julia and the donkeys at Good Day Out. We spent the morning in lovely company learning to paint the donkeys then enjoyed donkeys agility in the afternoon which was great fun. The donkeys are absolutely gorgeous and funny and we can't wait to visit again.

A fantastic experience for my wife and our seven year old! The agility games with the mini donkeys (Goose and Maverick) was so much fun - not only for our little family but also for the donkeys. Julia looked after us so well. At the end of the games, which lasted about an hour or an hour and a quarter, we got to put the donkeys to bed! Well work the visit and great value for money. Have a chat with Julia about whether it’s suitable for your youngsters if you’re not an adult only group - our daughter is pretty chilled, which is important around any animals - so a quick chat about whether it’s is suitable for your little ones is worth doing.

We arrived a little early, there were 4 of us, Julia was there it greet us. She took us to meet Goose and Maverick who were delightful. We spent the time petting and grooming them. Julia remained with us answering questions we had and was very knowledgeable about donkeys. We even got to meet her horse Shamrock which we petted too. When it was time to leave Julia asked if we wanted to put the donkeys to bed which we jumped at the chance. We led them from the field up to their barn and put them in their pen. Julia then asked if anyone wanted to bring in Shamrock, my granddaughter was keen to do this. Julia took photos and videos of us which she sent via WhatsApp we received 19 photos and 2 videos. We had a fabulous day, and would highly recommend the experience. Dinky Donkeys make you happy x

What a great experience doing the donkey hugs. We brushed them, cuddled them and walked them back into the stable and put them to bed. Such a lovely experience and Julia is great! Could have spent longer there so will rebook one of the agility sessions or donkey walks!

My mum and I visited Julia, Maverick, and Goose for a dinky donkey walk and it was fab! Julia was very informative and told us all about the donkeys, and Maverick and Goose were a joy to walk, very well behaved and had their own funny little personalities. We were blessed with great weather to sit and eat the lovely picnic Julia prepared, and even got to see an amazing field of bluebells. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something to do in Brecon!

We had a brilliant time on our Dinky Donkey Dogs hugs session. Julia was a fantastic host; going above and beyond to accommodate my Mother who has mobility issues. Very highly recommended.

My husband and I had a dinky donkeys walk booked but due to unforeseen circumstances we weren’t able to walk that day - Julia was amazingly accommodating and we did some games/agility with the dinks instead! They were adorable, so friendly and full of character. Julia was so welcoming and great at telling us all about Goose and Maverick, and we even got the opportunity to meet her horses too. Julia’s homestead is so spacious and lush - all her animals are treated like family and are clearly so happy. I would highly recommend to animal & nature-loving adults visiting the area!

I was given the dinkey donkey experience for a birthday present and what a day we had. The two donkeys, Maverick and Goose were so sweet and well behaved. Julia was very informative and took pictures of us on our walk. Beautiful location. I highly recommend doing this as it was such an enjoyable afternoon.

I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with donkeys Maverick and Goose yesterday and went home feeling so chilled out! Julia was the perfect host - warm, welcoming and clearly passionate about her animals. The setting was so beautiful and peaceful. Walking Maverick and Goose was a joy - they are full of character and so well cared for. We enjoyed a lovely picnic surrounded by nature which made the afternoon feel even more special. We booked this for my birthday and it was all I hoped for and more! We met Julia and then Maverick and Goose in the field for grooming and cuddles before setting off through the woodland trail, stopping for yummy leaves off the trees along the way. We stopped off for a lovely picnic before heading back down. Julia was happy to answer any questions and was very informative about not just the dink's but local wildlife in the area too. This is a must do for any animal lover and we can't wait to come back to see the dink's again. Lots of our friend's are asking to come meet the dink's too! We loved it! There is only one word to describe the dinky donkey walk experience and that is MAGICAL! Maverick and Goose are just the most joyful characters and Julia has created a truly wonderful experience. A fantastic afternoon with the donkeys Maverick and Goose. From getting to know them in the field with lots of cuddles to the walk where the donkeys had lots of stops to feed on their favourite tree or bush the whole time was relaxed and enjoyable. Big shout out to Julia who owns the donkeys and led the experience and was very knowledgeable about the breed and history of miniature donkeys.

My family had a great time yesterday with Goose and Maverick. The children absolutely loved it as did the adults. The picnic half way was great. Julia have lots of information about donkeys. I would highly recommend this day out.

My daughter bought me a voucher for my 60th birthday/ Retirement present, knowing how much i love donkeys. We booked to go together to the 2 hour Dinky Donkey walk and picnic experience. Julia obviously loves and cares for her animals and is friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed meeting our donkeys, getting to know them while we groomed them, then we walked with them through beautiful Brecon countryside and enjoyed a relaxed picnic. A peaceful and fun experience which we would totally recommend.

Such a lovely experience getting to know Maverick and Goose. The back drop of the Brecon Beacons was also a highlight. Great communication throughout booking and on the experience from the host. Tip: Read the website which explains correct clothing to be worn.

What a lovely experience, I purchased as a gift for my partner. Julia was a lovely host and obviously cared deeply about her animals. This came through in how compassionate she was towards them and knowledge of their personalities. The donkeys were very well behaved generally and we did enjoy our time with them. One thing I would say is take some wellies as walk can be a little boggy

Had a lush day out with Maverick and Goose, the miniature donkeys. Julia was lovely, very welcoming and had many fun facts about the donkeys. The walk was very peaceful and the picnic was nice (it was even catered to our dietary preferences!). Maverick and Goose made the day with their strong characters and cute faces. The location is stunning and the email instructions on how to get there were very helpful. The donkeys are so cute, friendly and cuddly. We had an amazing time on the Donkey walk. The weather was perfect and the perfect couple of hours Ada family activity whilst appreciating the beautiful scenery nestled in the Brecon Beacons. Maverick and Goose were very well behaved and very sweet. I would highly recommend this activity if staying in the Brecon Beacons.

We booked the Dinky Donkey walk as part of a friends 50th Birthday and had a wonderful morning with Maverik and Goose. Learnt so much about their characters, body language and about donkeys in general. Julia was a wonderful host and so informative and welcoming. Would highly recommend the experience. What a lovely experience we had with Maverick and Goose today. These two dinkey donkeys are huge on personality and we loved walking with them in the gorgeous Welsh countryside. The whole experience was very relaxing and Julia was happy to let us wander at our own pace, and let the donkeys munch at the hedgerows. We couldn't recommend this more 😁

We had a great time with the miniature donkeys. I was bought a voucher as a birthday present as I love donkeys, and took my partner who now loves them too! Very therapeutic and a lovely way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful Brecon countryside. The donkeys are great little personalities and it was lovely to spend time with them.

I bought the Dinky Donkey experience for my daughter’s birthday! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute! Julia was so welcoming and friendly! She was very knowledgeable about the donkeys and ensured we knew how to handle them safely. She took us out into the most peaceful countryside and we trekked along at a steady pace stopping to let the donkeys Goose and Maverick munch on grass and leaves as we went along! We had a little picnic then headed back and she introduced us to her beautiful horses too! She was kind enough to lend us some wellies as some parts were very muddy but all added to the fun! A most enjoyable afternoon, the donkeys were so sweet and well behaved! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience cuddling and walking Maverick and Goose, our beloved mini donkeys. The landscape is stunning and Julia is so nice and clear in her explanations. She really makes you bond with them. Highly recommended.

This is our second time visiting the gorgeous dinky donkeys. Today we got to feed , groom and cuddle Goose & Maverick. I even got to clean their hooves. Julia is amazing and so knowledgeable. I’d be visiting every day if I lived nearer!! I highly recommend ‘Good Day Out’ it really is just that, and a whole lot more .

What a lovely morning spent walking through woodland with Maverick and Goose. Such a unique experience in beautiful surroundings. I'd bought a private walk as a present for my husband so we had a donkey each to ourselves. Their owner Julia was great company and we learnt so much about these beautiful animals. A snack picnic of drink, crisps, apple and granola bar was included. The terrain is a little rough, very muddy in places and there's a bit of uphill so something to bear in mind. There is another activity of donkey games in the owner's field if mobility is an issue, which looks great fun. Would definitely recommend this. If you're lucky, you might even get a donkey hug at the end!

We had a lovely afternoon walking the dinky donkeys. It was a pleasure to meet Maverick and Goose, who were very well behaved. The views were wonderful too. Welly boots are a must, a couple of very muddy stretches, but nothing to be concerned about.
