My family and I loved the stay at the hotel, extremely convenient and fantastic staff - they make you feel at home, always resourceful, ready to help and I was lucky to meet Ana Sofia and Waleed there, their incredible story of work and life inspired me!
Our stay at Porta Nova was absolutely brilliant. We loved it. Location was amazing, the rooms were beautifully decorated, clean and well organised. Would certainly stay here again when visiting Braga.
We went there with my students for our project from Türkiye and stayed for six nights. The hotel is very historic and there are plenty of museums, restaurants and cafés to explore in the surrounding area. The hotel was so clean. Although the breakfast wasn’t particularly varied, it was well-organised and clean. The staff and the hotel manager were very kind and friendly. As we were leaving early on our final day, they even prepared a packed lunch for us. Thanks for this comfortable stay. We were very satisfied. I would definitely recommend there.
Although the hotel is very central, it is extremely inconvenient for anyone arriving by car. The hotel is not accessible by car and has no car park. I had to leave my car badly parked, blocking traffic to find out where I could park. The reception staff told me there was an arrangement with a car park called 'Cruza da Pedra' (I asked her to write it down and she just repeated it to me more slowly) and so I ran back to my car and looked for it on Google Maps – it does not appear on Google Maps – really a QR code linking to directions on Google or Waze would be very simple to do. So I had to drive round in circles waiting for a nearby space to be free and then download an app to pay for parking because the ticket machines only take coins. And then carry my suitcases 100+ metres to the hotel. As I said, extremely inconvenient and not at all helpful from the reception staff. The bedroom is comfortable and attractive with old stone walls. Another disadvantage is that breakfast only starts at 08.00, and I want to leave the hotel to go to work very soon after that, so I will have to hurry breakfast. Another inconvenience. I will not be coming back.
Stayed in a double room with terrace on the 3rd floor. Nice renovated room with good bathroom with high water pressure. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Excellent location. However room is very compact - no space even for luggage. Besides that, I would stay here again.
