Christmas Mulled Wine Walk Of Winchester

We had a wonderful night time tour of Winchester with Gail. Somehow she managed to pack in lots of history and took us to all sorts of interesting hidden places we would have otherwise missed. We were just off the plane from New Zealand so it was wonderful to see all the Christmas lights and to soak up the atmosphere.

We arranged two group 'Christmas Mulled Wine Walk' tours in Winchester, led by Brian and Gail. We all enjoyed the excellent entertaining commentary, the history, the Christmas lights and, of course, the Mulled Wine (or hot chocolate) along the way! It was a lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit. We can thoroughly recommend Walsh Tours having taken several other tours with Bryan, and we'll definitely be booking more.

Really glad that we did this Christmas Walk. The group size was small and perfect. Our guide was really informative and fun! The mulled wine/ hot chocolate, a lovely touch on a chilly evening. We learnt a lot about the history of Winchester. Throughly recommend this evening walk. 👍

Really great way to spend an evening. So interesting and quite magical at Christmas. Guide was very knowlegeable, attentative and entertaining. I really recommend this experience. I was on my own but felt very much included.

These tours always remind me to look up when somewhere new as there’s so much history high on buildings. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Nice walk round Winchester, guide was fun. Walk was a bit shorter than expected. Mulled wine was very good. We had already done another walk in the afternoon so we had heard some of the information before.

I had a great time and learned lots of interesting facts about Winchester, its people and pubs. Bryan, our guide, was very entertaining and kept us entertained and laughing, despite the rain. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Rushed - only 4 of us in the group - guide talked more about himself and connections with Ireland. Would have enjoyed more of an overview of Winchester. Mentioned leaving tips - unprofessional I’m afraid.

Brian the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour said it was for 90 minutes but we only had 60 and we went round the same street twice. Found out more about Winchester on google the following day than we did on this tour.

Really enjoyed Bryan's tour while spending a few days in Winchester. Learned some interesting facts about the town's history along the way and really enjoyed the way Bryan gave the tour a festive feel - the mulled wine from the Christmas market was a bonus! Bryan was a personable and friendly guide and would highly recommend his tour.

Bryan Walsh is a very knowledgeable tour guide who gets his facts over laced with a sense of humour - we even laughed at his jokes on a cold December evening. He told us things about Winchester and its historical characters in an interesting and engaging manner and made us want to know more. Bryan's depth of knowledge and experience comes through in a self-deprecating manner, which makes the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile.

The guide was a nice guy but found the tour a little lacking. It was ok but he didn’t know some of the answers to our questions about the historic city & it was quite basic. Also he took pictures of us throughout the tour & send her would sent them afterwards. Still haven’t received them over a week later.

Fun and informative historical walk around Winchester's city centre. Tour leader Bryan quotes classic literature and sings 1960s songs ("Winchester Cathedral," of course), so what could be better than that? Plus he knows his history, wears an elf hat, and gives you a glass of mulled wine right when you need it. Recommended.

Brilliant, we loved it! We had a private tour with Bryan where we learned a lot about the history of Winchester. He made sure we had a pleasant walk that was both informative and humorous. The mulled wine was a welcome warming hug to the tummy, and was some of the best we’d tasted due to a hint of vanilla (thank you to The historical William Walker pub). Many thanks for a memorable experience!

A fun, enjoyable and informative tour of the historic parts of Winchester topped off with mulled wine. The weather sucked, but that's one thing they can't control I guess.

We enjoyed a lovely walking tour around the beautiful city of Winchester. Our guide was both informative and entertaining. As we were on our own we had his full attention and he really brought the fascinating history to life.

Bryan personable and very knowledgeable, made the walk great fun despite the soggy weather. The pub he recommends at the conclusion is lovely as well.

Bryan was extremely knowledgeable. Very friendly . We did both this and the literary tour. Some overlap but well worth doing them both. It was like walking through town with a friend who knows his stuff. Definitely recommended
