Large hotel with all the facilities you would expect. We had a sea view room which was large and very well decorated and equipped. Very good breakfast and staff very polite and helpful. The only criticism I have is the parking charge which seems to be a thing with a lot of chain hotels now and does make me think twice when booking, aside from that it’s a lovely hotel in a great location.

We had a short 1 night stay here and I must say it was very nice. We had connecting rooms which is what I requested before we arrived and they were able to make it happen. The hotel is quite old but I guess you can say that’s a part of the hotels charm. Staff were wonderful and the location was amazing. I’ll upload pictures from our stay. I definitely will be back.
We were a bit confused and very worried by all the mixed reviews here. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back for longer. This is an above average Marriott and represents the brand well. We took 2 toddlers in the large family room with a king and couch. The room was much bigger and more comfortable than we expected. It was better than most Marriott suites. The temperature controls were fantastic. An AC that works, cannot be taken for granted, even in good hotels. People complain about the upkeep, but the only issues we saw were in the back parking lot. The interior of the hotel was fantastic and the room was brand new. The building with the gym is a bit dated, but the gym itself is brand new and well above average for a hotel like this. I enjoyed working out there. The location is perfect. There are five or six restaurants on the same street including Indian, Thai, Italian, a lively pub, fish and chips, and Japanese. The Thai food next to the hotel is particularly excellent, better than what we get in London. The lift that goes down to the beach from 10 AM to 4:50 PM takes you to a slightly less crowded area of the beach that is much nicer than the bit by the pier. The beach itself is pretty dated and has definitely seen better days, but having a direct lift to & from your hotel in five minutes is really amazing when you’re taking toddlers to the beach. The staff was great from the get go and ensured we got parking. (Beware the lot is always full.) They went above and beyond to recognise our Bonvoy status. Look forward to returning again to beat the heat this summer
Stayed for one night with my wife and our two daughters (aged 1 and 3) as part of our youngest daughter's 1st birthday celebrations. Our first impressions were excellent. Mira on reception gave us a genuinely warm welcome and went above and beyond to help us get our luggage and pram to the room. She took the time to chat with our girls and made us feel very welcome. After a long train journey, that personal touch was really appreciated and set the tone for what we hoped would be a lovely family stay. Unfortunately, after that, things started to go downhill. At around 7pm, after a day at the beach, we discovered there was no hot water in our room just as we were trying to get our daughters bathed and ready for bed. An engineer attended but the issue wasn't resolved. We were told reception would contact us with options, however we ended up having to chase for updates ourselves after hearing nothing back. The initial suggestion was to use another room purely for showering, which wasn't practical with a 1-year-old and 3-year-old who were already overtired and past their normal bath and bedtime routine. We were eventually offered a room move. The first option was in another building, which wasn't ideal given the lift issues and the fact we had a pram and two tired children. Eventually, a vacant family room was found on the first floor. While we appreciated the effort to resolve the situation, it meant packing up and moving rooms during what was already a stressful evening. We also lost the lovely sea-view room we had originally been allocated. To add to the disruption, room service ordered for our 3-year-old's dinner arrived cold and she refused to eat it. The hotel did ultimately make a genuine effort to put things right by removing the room service charge and applying a 20% reduction to our room rate. However, there was further confusion at checkout as the morning team appeared unaware of the agreed compensation and I had to show the messages confirming it. The receptionist then had to check with a supervisor before the discount was applied. While the arrangement was ultimately honoured, it was disappointing that the information had not been properly handed over between teams and left us feeling as though we had to justify what had already been agreed the previous evening. Overall, the location is excellent and the hotel has a lot going for it. What should have been a special family celebration was unfortunately overshadowed by the hot water issue, poor communication throughout the evening, and the disruption that followed. Credit is due to the team for eventually resolving matters and compensating us fairly, but it wasn't the relaxing family stay we had hoped for.
We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, which made the experience feel even more enjoyable and convenient. One of the best parts about this place was the location — being so close to the beach made it perfect for peaceful morning walks and beautiful sunset views without having to travel far at all. The atmosphere around the property was calm and refreshing, making it an ideal getaway spot. The food was also excellent, but the highlight for me was definitely the crème brûlée. It was easily one of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly creamy with a beautifully caramelised top. A memorable dessert to end the evenings with. Overall, it was a lovely experience with great comfort, amazing location, and delicious food.
