St-emilion & Médoc Wine Day Tour: Chateaus, Tastings And Lunch

My Mum and I went on this trip at the very end of October. We had a really great time - there was 8 people on the trip and it lasted from 9am to 6pm. We went to St Emilion, which was beautiful and did a tasting there of 6 different wines. We then went to three Chateaus and our lovely guide Daniel kindly brought us to a fourth on the way home - The Chateau Margeaux. We had lovely weather, although a little cold and a very enjoyable experience with a very knowledgeable guide. One thing to note - you are only tasting red wine, which we didn't know. Also, there is a lot of history on the tour! Would highly recommend and our guide Daniel was so nice :-)

We had a great time on the tour. Really enjoyed the wine experiences and our guide was very knowledgeable.

It was a fun day and Chiro (sp?) was a very friendly, knowledgeable tour guide. She really put in the effort to bring a diverse group of people together, which I appreciated. With that said I took one star away for the van, it was not to th standards I have experienced on similar full-day tours. I expected something that would allow couples to sit together and this did not, and it was tight for the journey. But the stops were insightful and paced well-this would be a great trip if you can book it out for your whole group.

Really enjoyed this day tour with our guide Yev from Rustic Vines! What a great learning experience and exposure to the various wineries and vineyards of the right and left banks of Bordeaux. Highly recommend and ask for Yev!

It was a great day, the excellent guide introduced us to the Bordeaux wine region and classifications. We visited 3 wine producers + tastings and we had a lovely lunch at Chtx Clos des Abbesses. All three Chtx received us very well! I recommend this tour without hesitation.

Enjoyable because we made it that way. Guide didnt really add anything except driving and hosting a short tour in St Emilion. Wine tasting was well done and you do drink a lot of wine!

We loved this tour with Chloe! We went to a variety of Chateues, large & small and enjoyed St Emilion & Medoc. We were very happy that we chose to do both left & right banks in a full day tour!

This was a wonderful experience! A small group, easy to find meeting location and comfortable transport. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and had an obvious passion for French wine and the Bordeaux region. We enjoyed many wines and a plentiful lunch.

St Emilion was beautiful. The tastings were great. The tour guide Roberto and other guests were fun. Would recommend 100%.

Wonderful day in a very small group tour of some spectacular wineries and tourist attractions in St Emilllon. Yev our host was an absolute gentleman and so knowledgeable about wine, Bordeaux and everything else … we learned a lot and tasted plenty of wines and had a lovely picnic. 5 stars!

What a perfect day traveling to St Emilion and Medoc having a tasty full day of wineries. It was an educational experience and well paced. Our guide was fabulous telling us the history and wine processes. Definitely recommend!

Had a fantastic day experiencing the region, leaning about the winemaking process, different kinds of grapes and blends, and tasting different wines. Our guide Yev made it even better with his easy-going and kind personality (and he speaks really good English).

Magnifique! An amazing day with Yev exploring Saint-Emillon and Medoc. We learned so much from Yev — this was more than a tasting but also a cultural and educational experience as well as a beautiful tour of Saint-Emillon town. We have done many wine tours such as this, but this was by far the best. Well worth spending the full day exploring with Yev. He has incredible knowledge and was a gentleman and prepared us a lovely picnic lunch at one of the wineries. Merci Yev!

We had a fun-filled, FULL day with Roberto as we travelled to the left and right bank wine areas. The stop in St Emilion was the best of all— would have love to spend the entire day there. What a charming, amazing town. Roberto combined the history and wine discussion as we moved through the day. Our tour was on a Sunday, so many Chateaus were not open for us to visit, but Rustic Tours did a great job of curating tours that accommodated us on the weekend. We definitely plan to come back and focus on each of the areas in separate tours, as it was a long day. But SO fun and we had the best time what we called our “Grand Crew!” Thank you, Roberto!

Best day yet in Bordeaux! Yev was the perfect guide and driver. He has a deep knowledge of the wine industry and winemaking process that added important context to everything we experienced. Lunch was perfect. Everyone we met at the chateaus and shops was kind, knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend! I plan to bring more family to Bordeaux and will request Yev for our next tour.

Wonderful wine tour in Bordeaux. Stunning town of St. Emilion and great wine tastings in this region. Our guide(Roberto) was outstanding! His knowledge on wines, history and the region made our day. Definitely a high recommendation for anyone visiting Bordeaux.

Terrific guide, Francoise was very knowledgeable about the wines of the region and Bordeaux as well. Good driver, great with recommendations for places to eat and drink. The 2 chateaux we visited were lovely with great wines and it was fun and very informative. Would recommend.

Worth every penny! Tried a bunch of wines, food was delicious, it was a full days visit and you actually learned something from the people that make the wine! Timing was great because we were very close to harvest time! We even ate some of the wine grapes!! Do it in September - seems the best time x

What a wonderful day! Visited both banks and we finally understand the difference! Our driver/guide (oops - a lovely woman from New York and we forgot her name - maybe too much wine and fun) did an amazing and informative job. We now realize that we are Left Bankers.

The first part of the tour was excellent. St-Émilion was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the wine tastings and lunch. The experience in the that area was definitely the highlight of the day. That said, we wish the tour had ended there. The drive to the Left Bank was quite long, which took up a significant amount of time, and unfortunately, we found the Left Bank portion of the tour to be noticeably less enjoyable than the first part. Overall, we had a great experience in St-Émilion and with the wine tastings, but we would have preferred to spend more time there rather than making the long drive to the Left Bank.

We experienced wonderful wine tastings, learned what to look for when tasting wine, and enjoyed each vineyard and what made them special. Our tour guide was great and our group had a lot of fun together!

Our private tour of Saint-Emilion & Medoc was excellent. The wineries were diverse, offered different tasting profiles, and were very informative. Our guide Ismail, was what made the experience most enjoyable and unique. He was very engaging, knowledgeable, and ensured that each experience was seamless. It was clear that he had built solid relationships with each of wineries’ experts who we met. A+ all the way!

Highly recommend tour, gives a great overview of St Emilion and Medoc wine estates. Was on the fence booking one or other, but am very glad I booked for both. Special shoutout to Yev our guide, super knowledgeable and made everything ran smoothly. 10/10

A nice small group tour. We got to ta taste and experience many wines from wine shop and 4 Chateaus. This gave a good understanding of the differences in classifications and varieties. Really lovely day

This was a fantastic wine tour through both the left and right bank of Bordeaux. With multiple tours, tastings, and a lunch it was a fantastic way to spend the day. Our guide was super knowledgeable and spoke excellent English making it easy to follow all the wine knowledge.

We accidentally booked a day late but the tour company still accommodated us despite our mistake (luckily the group had room for us to join) we were so happy with the experience. Chihiro was our tour guide: excellent driver, lovely conversations, and can put together a delicious picnic. Altogether, the vibes were perfect and I absolutely recommend booking a tour here.

My husband and I visited Bordeaux for the first time and had a fantastic experience with Rustic Vines! Our guide, Stan, was incredibly knowledgeable and created such a warm, convivial atmosphere throughout the day as we visited vineyards and châteaux in both Médoc and Saint-Émilion. We learned so much, enjoyed wonderful wines, and had an unforgettable time. We will definitely be back!

A good way to get a first impression of left and right bank in Bordeaux. Roberto was not only the driver but also a very good guide with a lot of knowledge about wines and history of the region. The tasting in St. Emilion and the visits at 3 wineries have been marvellous. The Picknick-lunch was excellent and the participants from 3 countries (Austria, Brazil, Scotland) had a lot of fun.
