Excellent introduction to Bordeaux and its history. Our guide, Rosie, was very interesting and provided a lot of insights into the culture, food and personality of Bordeaux. Wonderful tour for first-time visitors.

Guy, our lead, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable in both history and s wine. Would definitely do this again. Even though the weather was very warm having a professional driver with a wonderful AC kept us comfortable all day long.

Great tour of Bordeaux! Due to our schedule and travel Bordeaux became a stop over and to make the most of it we did this walking tour. I truly felt like I saw the city and had a wonderful time. The guide was communicative and informative. Highly recommend!

Clemence was our very excellent tour guide for 2 plus hours. Her English was fantastic and easily understood. She did a great job explaining the history of the many special sites of Bordeaux. We especially liked seeing the old stone walls under the floor of the retail store! Her tour gave us a real appreciation of the history of Bordeaux and its evolution over the years.

Our friendly and funny guide told us some of Bordeaux's history, linked to different landmarks, and some interesting tidbits of information. He also shared tips on things for tourists to do (including ways to save $ on activities). I've always found the Free Walking Tours a great way to start exploring a city, and this was no exception. Raphael was warm, friendly and insightful. He had a very wide knowledge of the history of Bordeaux and surrounds.

They were very unorganized when we were there. We sat alone to a lunch of cold mashed potatoes, green beans and duck with pimento cheese type spread. Desert was nice. Glass of wine was same size as out tastings. Our guide was new and spoke very fast with a heavy French accent and we got very little of it. I do not recommend this tour.

Ani was terrific from the day before the tour when he texted me to confirm our meeting place. He started by asking what my interests were and then he focused on the history of Bordeaux as requested. He was engaging and funny and made the time walking around the city in the heat thoroughly enjoyable.

This was a really great tour with Clemence visiting the main sites in this beautiful and interesting city. She was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history through the different periods in a clear and engaging way including the links to Britain and other parts of France. A very enjoyable and informative couple of hours. This is not a long tour in terms of distance with the focus more on the history.

I had a fantastic tour through the old town and the medieval parts of Bordeaux. Ani was a very enthusiastic and competent guide with a lot of fun facts and recomendations.

Highly recommend this tour and Ani, our tour guide! We booked a 3-hour private tour and agreed beforehand that we’d cut out early if the tour was boring. Well, much to our surprise the 3-hours felt like an hour! Ani was very knowledgeable about Bordeaux history and it’s architecture. He made the tour interesting by storytelling and humor. We were captivated. Even better, he’s a sommelier and foodie!! If you’re visiting Bordeaux take this tour and request Ani as your tour guide. You won’t regret it.

Adrian was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our tour. I didn’t realise WhatsApp is the way the guides communicate with you before the tour and didn’t respond to Adrian’s message. That meant I was then very concerned he wouldn’t turn up! But he did and it was all wonderful. We learnt so much about Bordeaux, its architecture, French history, the Hundred Years’ War etc. Was great just having the 3 of us as my husband wears hearing aids and a big group doesn’t work for him. My niece also asked a lot of questions which don’t get answered in a big group either. We highly recommend both Adrian and the private tour.
