Daniel was knowledgeable and a great guide. All of the wineries were welcoming and friendly. The food pairings were perfect!

Roberto was a fantastic guide. His English is perfect and he is very knowledgable. He made the experience exceptional! The wineries were wonderful but I would have preferred some that were more Cab focused since it’s the Medoc. The tastings were done at the wineries. Cheese at the first, charcuterie at the second and sweets at the third.
This was a well put together tour of the Medoc region which really developed our knowledge of the left bank, visiting a variety of estates and including plenty of tastings.
What a great tour this was, our guide Chihiro was superb. She Created a a great atmosphere for the group. Along with being very knowledgeable of the area we visited. We all bonded over our different experiences and had fabulous wine and food to accompany our conversations. Well worth the trip.
Had a wonderful time with Isamil on the tour, he was extremely knowledgeable and informative on the wines of the region He went out of his way to insure we all had a great experience! We had a wonderful group of 7 from all around Morth America and had a wonderful time! I highly recommend this tour for ev!
Ismail was a great tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I would highly recommend this tour company
Ismael was a great guide. Spoke English very well and went out of his way to make our day a wonderful experience. Very enjoyable.
What a fun day! Our tour guide was excellent and provided us with a good overview of the Medoc wine region. We were treated to a sampling of great wines and delicious cheese and charcuterie, plus a sweet treat to end on. We stopped at three different wineries and learned how each produces the wines we tasted that day. We also had a chance to enjoy the beauty of the Medoc region as we traveled to and from the different wineries. The small group size (only 6 of us) made this a very enjoyable tour. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Bordeaux.
Ishmael was a great guide, so enjoyable! We liked all three of the Chateaus we visited - excellent wine and education. Highly recommend.
Remi was an awesome tour guide. We loved all the wineries we visited!
The experience was amazing! We had a lovely day going around to vineyards in the left bank and eating cheese, charcuterie, and sweets with each tasting. Our guide, Remi, was so friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks for a wonderful time!
We had a fantastic day with Vincent of Rustic Wines visiting and tasting at 3 wineries in Medoc along with a picnic lunch at one of the Chateau’s. Vincent has such an incredible knowledge of wine and grape growing. His enthusiasm during the tour was amazing. He went out of his way to make sure that the experience exceeded our expectations. When we come back to Bordeaux we will definitely book with him again.
The 3 Chateaus we visited were amazing and provided a variety of experiences. Our guide, Roberto was very knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. We had a fantastic group of 7 guests. Thank you!
Ismael was an excellent, funny, and kind tour guide. He made everyone feel welcomed and provided a great base of knowledge for our chateau visits. The chateaus offered a unique perspective at each; from smaller grand classes to enormous operations. It was great to hear the histories of owners at each chateau. Plus, the wines were excellent and I particularly enjoyed the last pairing with the chocolates and macarons!
We had a fantastic time with Ismael! He was very informative and had a lot of great stories and history to tell on the car rides, which kept them fun! The chateaus were diverse and gave a nice overview of the area. All of the tour guides were nice and the wine and food was delicious! Highly recommend!!!
Ishmael was a great guide!! We visited 1 Margaux chateau and 2 Haut Medoc chateaus. The cheese, meat and dessert pairings were super great.
Really great experience. Informative but fun. Our guide Ismael was knowledgable, funny and outgoing. We enjoyed it!
Ismael was a friendly and knowledgeable host. Shared great facts and made us all feel comfortable the entire trip. Tasted great wines and saw some beautiful chateaus!
We had a super day visiting 3 chateau’s within Medoc. The day started with a very warm welcome at the Rustic Vines agency, where we met our guide, Ismail. Each chateau was unique, with passionate and knowledgeable hosts who took us round each property, telling us about the history and the processes they use, finishing with a super selection of wines for tasting, paired with delicious food. Ismail took us to and from each of the properties, making the day thoroughly enjoyable, sharing his knowledge of the area and the wineries, while also being great company with plenty of good chat along the way. He was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful, which really added to the experience. We had a brilliant day and would highly recommend this tour.
Ismael was a great guide for the day - it was a group van tour to 3 chateau with food pairings at each. Cheese, charcuterie board and chocolate was exceptional with great wines. He was a good driver, informative, funny and very accommodating. Highly recommend
Great day. Visited 3 interesting chateux. Our guide Ismael was great, caring and funny.
The Medoc Wine and Food Pairing full day program was excellent. We really enjoyed the group we were with, and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The 3 chateaux we visited represented different aspects of Medoc viniculture well, and each was both educational and delicious.
We had such a pleasant with Chihiro in Medoc. 3 wonderful wine tastings accompanied by tasty cheese, charcuterie and sweets at each stop. This is our third time with Rustic Vines, and it’s always well planned with the best wines and knowledgeable as well as kind guides. 10/10!
Pauline was an excellent guide! Loved the chateaus and wine tours she took us to. Comfortable van to view the beautiful Medoc region. Food pairing at each stop was excellent.
Great tour operator overall. Very professional and friendly. Took us to three different places.
Excellent experience. Daniel was fantastic, with a great personality and vast knowledge of wine and the region in general.
It was a great experience with Julie. You can do a St Emilion tour by yourself but you need a guided tour for Medoc region as Chateaus are not close to each others. Rustic Wines though everything for you and planned it very well.
Great Experience. Daniel is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. Highly Recommend.
We enjoyed a wonderful day out on the Rustic Vines tour with Julie and one other couple in our small group of 4. Julie was a gracious and informative guide who allowed us time to experience all the beauty of the Medoc region. Our tour began at 11am. The meeting place was a 10 minute and convenient walk to our cruise ship! We loaded up into a comfy Mercedes Benz van that shuttled us to Medoc. Julie supplied us with history, wine and food lessons as we journeyed our way to the left bank. The hand selected wineries were all terrific but each a bit different. All three tastings were either paired with delicious cheeses, rustic bread, charcuterie and lastly chocolates! It was a perfect way to spend the day learning, tasting and socializing with such gracious hosts at the wineries, our guide and our fellow travelers. I would absolutely recommend taking this tour before booking an excursion on the cruise ship. So worth it and most memorable. Thank you Julie for a wonderful experience!
We had a great trip to Medic with Ismael! We went to 3 different wineries. At the first one we had a cheese pairing. At the second we had charcuterie. And at the last we had a chocolate pairing. Ismael is super funny and very knowledgeable about the wines. We highly recommend this company and this tour.
This was a fantastic tour in a region that we knew little about. We had visited other regions surrounding Bordeaux but knew nothing about the Medoc wines. We stopped at 3 Chateaus traveling through the countryside, learned about what makes the wines of this region so unique including climate, soil, care of the grapes, proximity to the water etc. We had wine tasting and charcuterie at each vineyard. Our guides at each chateau were excellent, taking us through the winery and explaining their process; it was impressive and so very modern! There were strict wine making rules that were explained; these wines were exceptional. Our driver/ Viator guide spoke excellent English throughout the journey. It was our last day and a highlight of our trip to Bordeaux.
Had a great tour with our guide Remi! We went to 3 different chateaus in a spacious van over the span of about 6 hours. Our tour had 4 total people on it with space for 7-8 and I’d say it’s ideal for anyone who loves learning about wine. This was an incredible learning experience. At each chateau there was a guide employed by the chateau who walked us through their property and process. Having food at the different vineyards surprisingly allowed us to focus more on the wine tasting because we weren’t worried about stopping to get food. The full day tour focusing mainly on Medoc was a necessity in my opinion. There was so much to see and I think a half day would’ve barely scratched the surface. With that being said, on our trip to Bordeaux we had 2 free days and did a full day St. Emillion tour on our other free day. If you only were spending one day in the region or don’t really care about wine I could understand consolidating you tour into half-Medoc/half-St. Emillion. However, a full day in each region was really important to allow me to compare and contrast between the two (without giving too much away the differences are striking). I definitely left with more knowledge than I went in with and would highly recommend to anyone else!
We were with a wonderful crew training for this upcoming season. The drive was comfortable and the stops were informative, welcoming and delicious! You will see and taste a wide variety of wines and foods in the region. We are lucky enough to be experiencing another tour with them on our trip. If you choose Rustic Vines, you are in good hands!
We were interested in learning how to appreciate wine so booked this tour. We found the office easy enough and were warmly greeted. As typical English tourists with very broken French the staff were very accomodating. We took the bus to Medoc and visited two chateaux and a wine shop for three tastings. I now understand a little more about wine, about how high the quality is in this area and how when I buy a £6 bottle in Tesco’s I might be buying very low quality wine but if you like it, you like it. The trip was easily tailored to my million questions, I wasn’t made to feel small or patronised for my lack of knowledge. A really ample lunch which was gorgeous. The level was perfect for us, we had a great day out. I even went home with an expensive bottle (for me) to mature at home and save for an occasion. Lovely
We did the tour on a Thursday with Lauren. Unfortunately, she will be returning home to the US west coast soon and will not longer be a guide! I had originally booked a much more expensive tour with another company that has minimum of 4 requirement, which I think they use mainly as a bait and hoom scheme to get people to upgrade to a private tour for more money. When I realized that the minimum wasn't going to be met and that they would not let me know until the day before if the tour was to happen, I asked and received a full refund even though there was a posted penalty. I then found Rustic Vines with a 2 person minimum and am very glad I did. The price was about 1/3 of the other one. The difference was probably a fancier lunch and some higher priced wine chateaux. We made the right choice. I did receive an email the day before asking if we could reshedule for Friday, but since we only had one full day there, we couldn't. A third person (a guy from England) joined us at the last minute and added to the day's entertainment. We found the office and waited about 20 minutes for the tour since we were early. Lauren arrived, got our lunch supplies ready, gave us each water bottles for the day, and we were off. We stopped at a chateau and were given a tour by a guy that looked about 12! He was 20 or so, I think. Afterwards, Lauren had our lunch set up on the grounds at a table. It was meats, breads, and cheeses with wine, of course. We then proceeded to another chateau and had a great tour from a very nice lady. We were there at the right time to see all the grapes hanging on the plants just before harvest time. On our return to Bordeaux we stopped at a wine shop. The prices were much better at the chateaux than at the wine store/souvenir shop. Upon our return to the city, I asked Lauren to drop us off near a tram stop, and we said our goodbyes. Next time we're in Bordeaux, I plan to do another one of their van tours (too old for bikes). It's a good value with great places to see and good wine to drink!
Aline took us on a super fun and memorable wine tour to the Medoc in Bordeaux. We had several stops at chateaux and a great picnic lunch (with some tasty Lamothe-Bergeron wine). Thanks Rustic Vines and Aline for a great day in the Medoc! ~ Hiltons
Highlights of this enjoyable and informative tour was our guide Scott who knew EVERYTHING about wine and was willing to respond to our many questions & the tour of Chateau Hourtin Ducasse, which provided a wonderful view of real wine making with the owner & his son. We also loved the wines and everyone left Chateau Hourtin Ducasse with seem great value wins.
Lauren was a great guide giving the group many facts about Bordeaux wines and the Medoc region. The tour itself was nice in that they limit the group to no more than 8 (we were 6) so it never feels crowded and always has a personal feel. We visited two chateaus and both provided tours and information into their wine making techniques as well as tastings. The highlight was probably the very nice picnic style lunch we were served at one of the chateaus. I am sure there are plenty of options and a lot depends on what wineries you ultimately visit, but thought this was a nice combination.
Wow! What an amazing 2 day experience!!! Pascaline did a fantastic job organizing and customizing our winery visits. We visited 6 chateaus and one wine shop. We tasted good mix of grand crus. Note: Ordering wine to the states is pretty easy and cost effective. We purchased wine at almost every place we visited! Overall, I would highly recommend booking if you visiting Bordeaux. Thomas our tour guide was super knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Bordeaux wine. He truly helped make our visit extra special. I’m dreaming of our next trip back!
My wife and I had an amazing time on the Médoc wine tour. Lauren Flynn was our guide and taught us so much about Bordeaux Châteaus. Would recommend to anyone who loves wine, or wants to love wine.
My husband and I went on the Medoc tour with Lauren and had such a fun time! Our group visited two Chateaus, a wine shop in Margaux, and stopped off at several other Chateaus for photo ops. We learned so much about the region and wine making and are bringing home several bottles to enjoy in LA! Thank you Lauren and Rustic Vines for an unforgettable time!
We had the opportunity to travel up to the Medoc with Lauren as our guide. Lauren was an excellent travel guide. She shared here knowledge of wine (recent graduate with a Masters in Wine and Spirits from Kedge Business School in Bordeaux) with us and we got to tour and taste at two Chateaus and in addition, a wine shop where we tasted other wines from local Chateaus. It was a beautiful day in the wine country and we had a great time. I highly recommend Lauren and Rustic Vines!
Went on the full day tour of the Medoc region - visited two chateaus and a great wine shop in Margaux. Our tour guide Lindsey was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine and the region itself - we learned a ton! Had a great lunch at one of the chateaus with some local meats and cheeses. Overall great day! Will definitely book another tour next time I'm in Bordeaux.
As promised in my previous review in 2017 where we had the Famous Monk tour, I did not hesitate to book another tour with Rustic Vines. This time I booked the Napoleon Medoc Winter Tour for myself and a couple of friends. We were not disappointed. Our guide Thomas was very knowledgeable. We visited 2 chateaux, one in Saint-Estephe and another in Margaux, a wine merchant and had a very good lunch at Restaurant Le Savoie, a pleasant surprise since we did not expect that a lunch included in a tour would be that good.
Increíble, nuestro guía nos dio muchísima información! Los viñedos muy bien y las personas que nos recibieron en cada uno fueron muy amables.
The chateaux are very professional and the visits are sensational. We were even lucky to taste a 1971 wine. The roads are adjacent and this gives an extra charm to the experience. Indicate closed eyes.
