We loved our experience. The sidecars were so fun! It was a great way to see the countryside. The village we stopped at was adorable. The wine tasting was excellent. Thank you so much!!! I would absolutely do this again!

Be advised that if book for two one will have to ride behind the driver. Not very comfortable for the time spent on motorcycle The trip itself was great and was worth the money highly recommend
We had the best time riding on a motorcycle and a sidecar thru Bordeaux with Alex and Arno! Expert drivers who calmed my fears and showed us the lovely countryside. Would highly recommend this tour!!!
This is an engaging and fun trip where you learn about Bordeaux and the surrounding area, are able to sample some wonderful Bordeaux wine at Chateau Tour St Christophe and get the exposure of a motorcycle ride with the wind in your face. Our guide was wonderful and both my wife and I enjoyed the adventure.
Arnaud was a wonderful guide and a very competent driver. The drive out to Saint Emillion was beautiful with a stop to view a chateau (can’t remember the name) We went through the most amazing country side which was explained in with great passion St Emillion was simply incredible and yet again explained with a deep knowledge of The vineyard, chateaux tour St Christophe by Alexix was unbelievable his love of his job and the process of vine making from the vine to bottle was a brilliant education And then home with a stop at an amazing view point was just fantastic
amazing experiance, the guides were great. 4 of us enjoyed the sidecars through the winerys and towns. must do!
My husband and I had an amazing time doing the 1/2 day sidecar tour to St.Emilion. Our guide was so kind and fun and really added to this incredible experience. The countryside views, the guided tour through St. Emilion and the wine tasting were all wonderful. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and unique way to experience Bordeaux and surrounding areas.
So much fun! Alex was delightful! It was such an great way to see the countryside and winery. We were so fortunate to see the grape harvest. Good wine and a beautiful day.
This is THE way to go for people who are short on time but still want a great, personalized, memorable experience. I only had a couple of hours but felt like I did a lot. Alex was the best guide: attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive of going on a country-roads tour alone with an unknown person but felt extremely comfortable the entire time. With this tour, you get to drive through the fields, take side, scenic roads, stop for pictures wherever you want and feel catered to. The chateau we stopped at was also excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable and it was well worth the hour spent there. A couple of notes to keep in mind: 1) the tour is for two guests. I was traveling alone so had to book 2x the amount. 2) Don’t forget sunglasses to protect your eyes from the wind. I forgot mind (but luckily Alex was ready with a spare pair. He seemed to always have a plan B if I needed. Highly recommend
Recently did the St. Emilion tour in a side-car with Retro Tour in Bordeaux. We were two couples traveling via a cruise ship. Our pilots Alex and Emmanuel picked us up promptly at the ship. Admittedly, as we are older couples, we had some reluctance with one of us riding on the back of the motorcyle. But I have to say, all took turns on the back and we had a blast! Our pilots were wonderful always checking to make sure we were safe and comfortable. They are great, experienced drivers. We toured St. Emilion, visited a winery for a tasting and toured on the bikes through a vineyard. I highly recommend this tour. All of us agree that this was one of the highlights of our trip. Try it - you will not be disappointed!
What an afternoon! Had a very special 4.5hrs with Alex and Emmanuel who were super friendly, informative and spoke perfect English. The bikes and sidecars look great and were a lot of fun, whilst the trip out to Saint Emilion afforded us wonderful views of the countryside and incorporated a wine tour at Couvent des where we got to sample some delightful wines.
Great experience! Beautiful town, stunning scenery. The ride was a lot of fun and Alex was a great driver/guide. Best part was driving through the fields, among the grape plants! Also, the chateaus we visited were beautiful, and the wine was great!
We had a great half day wine tour in the side car, lots of fun and a great way to see the wine region in St Emilion , Our guide Lucia was so informative and a lot of fun , would recommend this tour if in Bordeaux
My friend and I signed up for this tour to Saint-Emilion and it was a spectacular experience! Saint Emilion is beautiful and scenic and what a way to experience it in a sidecar. It is truly unique. Alexandre, our guide was wonderful. He was knowledgable about the sites we visited. We also really enjoyed the winery we visited. Couple of recommendations: Dress in warm clothes - it can get quite chilly on the speedways. Be sure to wear big sunglasses to shield your face...or a scarf to fend off the bugs :)
This alternative mode of transport to explore St Emilion was fantastic, it certainly felt like a once in a lifetime trip as I'm not sure I'll ever have the chance to travel in a side car again. Driving through the French countryside was beautiful, the tour around St Emilion old town was lovely, and our wine tour at one of the local Chateau's was so good I bought a case of wine to ship from to the US! Really well thought out excursion
Alex was wonderful! Great guide and driver! We adored this way of touring the vineyards and St-Emillion region. It’s the way to go. A once in a lifetime experience. The Chateau tour was impeccable. Thank you Sara.
I would highly recommend this tour on the retro side car motor bike. We had so much fun. Alex was a fabulous guide. St Emilion and the countyside is just so beautiful. Thank you again .
So much fun! Riding from Bordeaux was a blast and touring Saint-Emilion from the side car and the back of the bike was the best way to see the stunning landscape. Our guide, Lucio, is awesome and the best tour guide you could ask for. His enthusiasm for the area and his energy was exactly what we needed. Lucio, if you're ever in NY, come visit!
It was the best day ever! A wonderful experience with the best guide Lucio, so knowledgeable, friendly and warm. My mum and I had a day we will never forget. Thank you Lucio!
Great experience!! If you are into wine and a little adventure, this is the way! Riding in the sidecar alone is worth it ;)
This trip was a highlight of our time France. The motorcycle ride was an adventure, Saint-Emilion was wonderful, and the winery tour was exceptional.
This was a truly Amazing tour company. And Alex who owns this part of the company in Bordeaux is a truly wonderful company owner who really cares about his guests. We took a half day tour to the vineyards at first and it was spectacular. It elevated what could have been something routine into something very special. And the winery they picked was so great for us - a completely private tour. We had such a good time we then did both the night and day tours of Bordeaux. In each case we learned so much and had such a good time.
Luke provided us with a great tour. It was a beautiful day and he was very educational and fun. Wish it was longer!
Amazing Tour, Alex is a fantastic guide, so informative and obliging. We would recommend this tour as a must do.
We stumbled into the TouristWe stumbled into the Tourist Bureau at Quinones on Friday, where we booked a city tour with the side car for Saturday morning. We had so much fun on the city tour that we changed our plans to take the Retro Tour to St Emilion on Sunday, rather than the tour bus. First of all - the URAL with sidecar is a beautiful motorcycle and modern day replica of the historical royal bikes from WWII era. The bike seemed to be perfectly maintained and was comfortable and clean, inside & out. Alex, our driver and tour guide, was a wonderful French gentleman; friendly, courteous, polite and charming. He was honest and I found his prices to be a fair bargain for the amazing experience he offers. Prior to our tour (and taking our money), he checked weather, road and traffic conditions. Comfort and safety were obviously a top priority. He took measurements to bring the correct helmet sizes, brought extra coats, jackets, gloves and blankets (although fortunately it was warm & sunny so we didn’t need it) and water for the ride. We arranged for him to pick us up directly from our hotel. He was flexible with our needs, yet very precise and punctual, arriving a few minutes early for both of our tours. He was knowledgeable about the city of Bordeaux, and was able to navigate all of the pedestrian areas closed off to traffic, while still giving us great views of all the major attractions in town. He also showed us a few markets that we would have never known about or found on a hop on, hop off bus. We had a breathtaking ride on the back country roads from Bordeaux to St Emilion (about 1 hour). Once we arrived in the area, Alex literally took us off the beaten path, through the vineyards and stopped to point out some of the more famous and popular chateaus. He arranged a tour and tasting for us on short notice at a Chateau, and took us on a quick walking tour through the historic center of St Emilion before bringing us back to Bordeaux. Retro tours made our short trip to Bordeaux a memorable and Fun experience and we definitely hope to make it back again, next time to tour Medoc with Alex and his sidecar. We discovered this in the Tourism office. Thomas our rider was very engaging and fun. The tour wound through the magnificent roads of St Emillion until we reached Chateau Fombrauge where we given a 45 minute tour of the vineyard by Mary. Following was a 20 minute tasting session. Mary was very passionate and knowledgeable. This tour is an extra cost but not expensive. Overall a great half day away from the city.
My friends and I decided to go on a side-car tour to the Medoc. It was fantastic! We had two side cars. Our chauffeurs were very fun and funny. I was so surprised how comfortable the side cars were. Felt like being in a limo with your hair blowing in the wind. And sitting on the motorcycle was fine too since our drivers were cute;). We visited two wineries and the tours/wine was of high quality. Highly recommend going on this adventure. Life it too short!
My boyfriend and I wanted to try how it is to travel by sidecar so we booked this tour. Most of the time I sat in the sidecar (which is GREAT!!!) and my boyfriend sat behind our guide. Alex, our guide, was OUTSTANDING!!! We had so much fun and at the same time he gave us tons of information, plenty of good suggestions and recommendations. It was a bit a rainy day but this would not harm our excellent mood! In the opposite, Alex is a very attentive person so all was perfect. We drove from Bordeaux to Saint-Emilion. On the way we stopped by in a château for wine tasting. We made a little tour with the guide of the château which was very interesting as well. Saint-Emilion is a lovely little town and worth to visit. The tour was really really great, and we want to thank Alex to have made this tour so unforgettable. We highly recommend Retro Tour Bordeaux!
The only way to experience Bordeaux..... I've experienced Retro Tour in Paris and was a big fan and also now lucky enough to have experienced Retro Tour Bordeaux - and am now an even bigger fan! My friend and I booked a side car each and embarked on the 4 hour inside wine tour. Despite the weather being ever changing with sunshine and heavy rain clouds, that did not stop us from having a really great day. Alexander and Francois are the perfect hosts - really knowledgable, passionate and enthusiastic about Bordeaux and offered lots of great Bordeaux tips too. If you want to discover Bordeaux and the wine region in a really unique, special and fun way - I could not recommend the Retro Tour gentleman more highly. Thanks guys!
We had an amazing guide, who was very skilled at maneuvering the motorcycle. He was very professional. The favorite part was to visit Chateu Coutet and get to taste their wines. Next time I could imagine to visit several Chateus for more wine tasting, we got three tasting samples of wine during the half-day.
A perfect day to discover places, certainly touristic, but seen in a super original and much more personal way. Alex succeeds in making us move from feelings of speed and freedom on the side to moments of “cultures” with his explanations and pointed anecdotes! I recommend without hesitation if you want to please yourself without doing like the others:-)
At the bend of a burgundy street we found this very original way to visit the historic city! The sympathy and availability of our driver Thomas pushed us to repeat the experience The next day towards Saint-émilion! A long afternoon spent very quickly and joyfully with our guide! I recommend anyone who loves inatt, good humor and discovery to subscribe to this experience
