The guide Yev was so knowledgeable and engaging!! Such a great and energetic experience
Fantastic and informative tour, our guide Yev was terrific & gave so many insights into not only the wines but also the regions, the provided lunch was a selection of cheeses and cold cuts which was great ! Don’t hesitate to book
The guide Yev was excellent. The tour was fantastic. Great experience, knowledge, interaction, and lunch. Overall a must do trip.
Quite simply, one of the best days of our trip. From start to finish, everything about this tour was exceptional. Starting from Bordeaux, the whole day was completely seamless. The bikes were superb and the cycling itself was wonderfully easy and relaxed, taking us through picture-postcard vineyards and stunning Saint-Émilion countryside. If you're imagining yourself gently cycling between rows of vines with beautiful châteaux appearing around every corner, glass of wine never too far away… that's pretty much the day! We visited two vineyards for tastings, both excellent. Each tasting was different, delicious and expertly guided, without ever feeling overly serious or stuffy. Lunch was another highlight: an amazing cheese and charcuterie board accompanied by, yes, more wine, enjoyed outside in the shadow of a château. It was one of those moments where you look around and think, does a day actually get much better than this? We then headed into Saint-Émilion for our final tasting with Cedric, who was brilliant. He struck exactly the right balance between being incredibly knowledgeable and informative while also being relaxed and funny. We tasted four wines from different vintages, including one costing nearly €100 a bottle, which made the experience feel particularly special. And a huge mention must go to our fantastic Latvian guide, Jorens, who was superb throughout. Knowledgeable, personable, entertaining and clearly passionate about the area and its wines. A great guide can make or break a tour like this, and Jorens absolutely made it. Beautiful scenery, effortless cycling, fantastic wines, delicious food and brilliant company. The entire day felt incredibly well organised without ever feeling rushed or regimented. If you're staying in Bordeaux and want to experience Saint-Émilion and its vineyards, I honestly can't think of a better way to do it. The company makes everything ridiculously easy. You simply turn up and enjoy one perfect experience after another. Highly, highly recommended. An absolutely perfect day. 🍷🚲🍇
Yev our guide for the was fantastic, really looked after us all so well. Such an amazing day out, would highly recommend!
We did the Saint-Émilion Food & Wine Day Tour as part of a hen weekend and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. From start to finish, the whole day was fantastic – beautiful vineyards, plenty of excellent wine, a gorgeous picnic lunch and time to explore Saint-Émilion itself. The day was really well paced and never felt rushed. A huge part of what made it so enjoyable was Yev, our guide. He was absolutely brilliant – incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the Bordeaux region, but also warm, funny and engaging. He explained everything in a way that was genuinely interesting without ever making it feel like a lecture, and he was great fun with our group. You can tell he really knows and loves what he does and showed us spots we’d have never found on our own. We went into the day expecting some nice wine and beautiful scenery and came away having learned loads, laughed a lot and had a genuinely memorable day together. If you’re visiting Bordeaux, I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough – and if you’re lucky enough to get Yev as your guide, you’re in for a great day. 🍷🍇🇫🇷
We had an amazing tour with Yev! He was extremely knowledgeable. He was charismatic and very friendly. He went above and beyond making sure we had an amazing time. The tour its self was amazing the winery was brilliant and I could recommend it more!
Such a fun day Yev was really informative, fun and just a really nice guy. Highly recommended
Yev was an amazing guide through both the right and left banks of Bordeaux. We learned a lot about wine while drinking some of the best vintages. He served us a beautiful lunch. He kept us informed throughout the drive about various historical facts and even showed us the caves in Saint Emillion. Highly recommend Yev for your future tours.
We went on a private tour with just the two of us and we had the most amazing day. We learned so much about the wine and area and had such a lovely time. Our tour was made all the more special as our guide Ismail, was absolutely amazing, so informative and patient - top class!! I would highly recommend the tour and our guide.
Fabulous day to explore the Bordeaux countryside and wine farms. The minibus was perfect and a lovely mix of only six people from across the world made the tour more intimate and personal. The tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging and gave us a lot of insight into the wine industry in Bordeaux. The two farms and one wine merchant were a good cross section and the tours were very informative with highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. If you don’t have much time in Bordeaux, this is an ideal choice to get to know more the area. Highly recommended!
Chihiro was the best guide and we enjoyed our time together with the group
What an incredible day. Beautiful Châteaus, loads of wine tastings and our tour guide was great! Totally worth the price. Highly recommend. We had a mix in our group of 8 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thanks
This was a last minute booking -- and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Thomas was a great guide, showing us not just good wines but also setting up several private tours during the harvest. This was a private tour for me and my Dad. Thomas did great managing our requests and showing us special parts of St. Emilion. He was warm, informed, and passionate about the region. Highly recommend.
What a great day out. A well organised tour. We were well looked after from start to finish. Alan our tour guide was exceptional and an absolute fountain of knowledge.
The tour was fantastic and our guide Alan was truly amazing. I had some mobility problems on the steep, cobblestone streets but Alan made sure that I was safe. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the wine trade and also about the areas through which we traveled. A most enjoyable tour!
The tour on Ebikes in St Emilion was fantastic. Our rustic vines guide Matt was great, very knowledgeable on the area and the wine. We had never used Ebikes before and it was great fun. After about 5 minutes you understand why you need Ebikes:-). The country side around st Emilion is truly charming. The wine tastings were very informative and interesting. The guides in the chateaux did a great job. The group was made up of several nationalities which made the day even more interesting. Fantastic company. The lunch was very tasty. Recommended tour.
We had an enjoyable day touring St Emilion, stopping at both chateaus and a wine merchant for tastings. Our guide, Alan, gave us a well-paced day, and his lighthearted, easy going presentations increased our understanding and appreciation of the region. I would not hesitate to book another tour with Rustic Vines, especially with Alan as the guide.
My wife and I did the all day Famous Monk Tour of St Emilion with Rustic Vines today. Alan was our guide and he could not have been better. We live in the Bay Area of San Francisco and spend a fair amount of time in the wine regions of Napa and Sonoma valleys. French wines have always interested us, but we find their entire system perplexing and, therefore, we hardly ever purchase them. Alan untangled all of this for us and we're now ready to make French wines part of our regular dining experience. St Emilion is not only beautiful, but home to spectacular wines. And the food Rustic Vines includes with their tours was the perfect pairing to a great venue, great wines and great tour guide. Thank you Rustic Vines and thank you Alan!
The tour was well organized and informative—and lots of fun. Alan was an accomplished guide—attentive and able to answer our questions about Bordeaux wine. It was a busy, full day but we never felt rushed. A great experience—absolutely recommended!!
My husband and I booked this in advance hoping for a wine experience while in this wonderful wine region. We were so impressed with Alan and the tour! While driving a short distance outside of Bordeaux by shuttle, we viewed the area’s scenic vineyards visiting two chateaus in St Emilion and Pomerol. We also visited the picturesque medieval village of St Emilion, taking in it’s rich history on foot and enjoying a third tasting there at a wine “cave” (merchant). This tour included not one but two “very French” picnics throughout the day. Special thanks to Alan, our friendly, attentive guide for a wonderful time! Brendan & Kim Dixon from Seattle
Wonderful tour ! Tour guide Alan very friendly and knowledgeable and passionate . Visited a beautiful chateau along the way and had a picnic with a view. Had various wine tastings , great day and tour overall! Delicious French baguette for lunch. Would recommend !!
Great day with our guide Alan. Super knowledgeable and friendly guy. Learned a lot about French wines and enjoyed relaxed atmosphere of the trip. Thanks again Alan.
This was really a perfect way of learning the difference between Saint Emilion and Medoc-- SE is by far our first choice. To be able to see a Chateau and an organic vineyard-- and spend time in the city was perfect. Thomas was an excellent guide, always sharing information that was relevant and speaking loudly enough for everyone to hear in the van. Our wine shop stop was an excellent cap to our day, but we would also recommend the electric bike tour in SE run by the same company.
Such a special trip that was worth doing without a doubt. Our tour guide was really friendly and also incredibly knowledgeable. The tour was well thought out and interesting. I couldn’t recommend this group enough!
My daughter and I did the Famous Monk of St. Emilion: Winter Tour and Gourmet Lunch. Helene was a fabulous guide and we had a wonderful day tasting many wines. We had a delicious lunch with a gorgeous view. I would recommend this tour for a winter visit in Bordeaux. It was also a great to see the village of St. Emilion and see something outside the city.
Our guide Remy was kind, friendly, and explained everything to us in a perfect and professional manner. Recommended!
Cette excursion à travers les vignes et ces chanteaux était génial. Mention spéciale à Sarah et Fabricio qui nous ont fait vivre un moment parfait. Activité recommandée ! Gaëtan
