Excellent tour and Any was fun and knowledgeable.
A very knowledgeable and fun guide. Thanks Ani . Tour was suitable for my disabled husband who uses a mobility scooter.
Great introduction to Bordeaux. Ani, our guide, was fun, informative, and professional. Would recommend
Very lucky as only 8 persons (15 travelers didn't turn up). Guide Ani tremendous imparting his knowledge with great humour. Ideal 2 hour tour.
Nice mix of highlights and history. Great guide.
This city is a beautiful place, distinguished by its wine and food.
Caz, our guide, was terrific. He provided a lot of information in a very pleasant way.
Melanie was lovely and very knowledgeable of the city. Really enjoyed this tour and great way to learn the history and get your bearings. She gave some good recommendations for food or wine which we followed and had a great evening afterwards! Highly recommend this tour.
Melanie was an excellent tour guide. I would highly recommend this.”
Melanie was very informative and interesting . She also had a good sense of humour.
Melanie was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable guide. Excellent walking tour
Ani provided us with a great overview of Bordeaux and its history. We learned about Medieval Times, the Revolution (off with their heads!) and today. We learned about big things - like the opera house and the cathedral that took 500 years to build, and the little things, like street level openings to move a wine barrel into a house and a boot scraper to get the swampy mud off your shoes before entering. We learned the etymology of 5 words and we enjoyed stories and anecdotes along the way. I'll look for this small business in future cities I visit because it was an outstanding tour.
Ani was an excellent guide with a good knowledge of the history and the importance of Bordeaux. He made the tour interesting and lively. I would recommend the tour to anyone wanting an introduction to Bordeaux.
We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour with Rosie. She was full of information delivered in a confident and fun way; we learnta great deal. I would really recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bordeaux for the first time as you visit the major sites in the centre of the city.
The guide was super and very knowledgeable about Bordeaux and French history. He was a brilliant story teller and had a great way of imparting information! 2 hours very well spent. Thank you Ami!
The guide was excellent. He offered a lot of history and humor. I enjoyed the outing.
Excellent walking tour with very knowledgable and engaging guide Ani . Would highly recommmed .
Historical and interesting. A good walk around the centre. Some interesting facts. Unfortunately although part of the tour no free glass of wine at the end!
Really great tour of the city. Ani was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge.
Wow! I have been on many walking tours around the world, and this one was the best ever. Ani was a very knowledgeable guide. He helped us understand the history of Bordeaux, and he engaged us as a group by asking questions and telling us amusing anecdotes. The tour was a great introduction to this fascinating city. And the free glass of wine at the end was an added treat.
This was a very interesting & fun tour. Fun facts, good history knowledge & a charming guide. We highly recommend Melanie.
It is quite comprehensive, covering the principal sites and working them in perfectly with excellent history. This , together with Anie's excellent communication skills, made it into a memorable experience. I taught Hospitatity, Tourism and Customer service in Ireland and know an excellent guide when I meet one!
Really excellent 2 hours introduction to Bordeaux. Melanie the guide was brilliant. Loads of info and history. Highly recommended.
Thank you to Caz for an enjoyable walking tour. His knowledge and passion for Bordeaux really came across, and he kept the tour interesting with plenty of humour along the way. The tour lasted just under two hours and covered the city’s history, geography and modern-day Bordeaux. The small group made it easy to ask questions and enjoy the experience at a relaxed pace. Caz also shared some fantastic restaurant and wine bar recommendations. One of his top recommendations was Le Sobre Chartrons, where we enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine after the tour. Their self-service wine dispensers are such a unique concept and well worth checking out. Merci!
Had great 2 hour walking tour with Ani, he was extremely knowledgeable in the history of Bordeaux. He covered various periods, and many of the main attractions. He was fun, and highly involved all the group participants throughout. Highly recommended.
Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our kids didn't want to go at the start but by the end they were very excited!
We had a wonderful time on this walking tour and learned so much about Bordeaux... the history... the cool stories about the culture.. people and of course the wine! Melanie was amazing... she knew so much and made the tour fun and informative. Thanks so much!
Melanie was a truly engaging speaker, she led us around the major sights of Bordeaux and gave us insights into the history and legendary figures. In the heat she ensured we were taken to shady spots. Great walking tour, definitely recommend 👌
Our walking tour began, as most do, with an overview of the history of the city that provided a framework and touch-points for the information about specific places that would follow. Four major historical points were emphasized: the founding of the city by the Romans, the medieval period, the French Revolution, and the modern day. Overall, the information tended to focus primarily on history and architecture, more so than culture and lifestyle. Our guide did provide some tips on places to prioritize for follow-up visits depending upon how long you have in the city. An important note about the "1 glass of wine": the stop for wine was not made during the tour; rather, the guide gave the name and location for a specific bar that could be visited after its 5;30p opening where you could ask for the guide (who worked there) and receive the wine. According to the information provided the night before the tour, that bar is not open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
The walking tour of Bordeaux was really excellent. Our guide Ani was very informative and interacted with the group. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour his knowledge of the sites were wonderful and we learnt so much.
The tour itself was wonderful. Ani is very knowledgeable and presents a lot of information in a friendly and interesting way. The problem was with Trip Advisor, who calls it a “free” tour but charges for registering and then mentions that a tip of at least €25 per person should be given. Also, Trip Advisor sent me at least 8 emails, plus text messages and messages on WhatsApp about the tour date and time. This is too much!!
This was by far the highlight of our time in Bordeaux. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know the history of the city and France as a whole. Our guide Anni was fantastic and so knowledgeable.
Our walking tour guide, Anni, was terrific - knowledgeable, funny, and clearly interested in history. He was thorough and answered all questions from the group.
Well informed and entertaining guide
Ani was a great tour guide! I learned a lot about Bordeaux as well as language facts! Lots of laughs and saw a lot of downtown! Also extra activity suggestions were very helpful!!
Excellent tour. Very informative & a great way to see the main city highlights b4 deciding where to explore more
Great tour, it gave a real understanding of the Georgraphy & history of Bordeaux. I saw places I wouldn’t have seen. Great tour guide, very enthusiastic.
Took this walking tour with Adrian as an introduction to Bordeaux. Very informative, plenty to see and hear , Adrian was a great tour guide. Would highly recommend
Can’t believe this tour was free. Absolutely one of the best tours regardless of cost. Super entertaining delivery of so much history of the Bordeaux area. Definitely recommend.
Rosie was very charming and knowledgeable. She gave an excellent your and accommodated everyone. An excellent tour of Bordeaux
Excellent, informative with a great sense of humor. We learned a lot and Andre was easy to understand. I certainly would recommend this for everyone to get oriented in the city.
Our tour with Rosie was great. She is knowledgeable and enthusiastic , and it gave us a good introduction to the city before staying here for a few days.
even though we are french nationals we took this tour in English. it was our first time in Bordeaux and we learned so much about the city and French history from Rosie our fantastic Mexican born tour guide. she was a great story teller also
A great way to orient yourself to the beautiful city of Bordeaux and learn about its history. Our guide was informative and entertaining. Our only criticism is that sometimes it would have been more efficient to just relate the facts rather than to ask the participants to guess before telling them.
Our city tour of Bordeaux with Ani was fantastic! He really knows the city and so many interesting details about it.
The guide didn't show up, there were 2 other people waiting as well. We were refunded but did not get to take a tour.
I very quickly realised I knew next to nothing about French history but Ani was an excellent guide who provided us with the background information in a lighthearted but interesting manner to put into context the sites that he took us to see. I would definitely recommend this walking tour if you are at all interested in learning some of Bordeaux’s history but don’t want to pore over history books or Google for information.
I had booked this walking tour for myself, my husband and my son for Sunday and it was going to be the highlight of our weekend in Bordeaux. Unfortunately, I received a text after 8pm on Saturday to tell me that the tour, which was due to start at 11am the next morning, was cancelled because not enough people had booked. Cancelling at short notice made it very difficult to make alternative arrangements. I was very disappointed with this organisation.
Great info, fun and engaging. Good recommendations. Great knowledge of French history and how it intersects with Bordeaux
