Your day begins with a seamless, convenient pickup, followed by a scenic drive through the rolling French countryside as you make your way toward one of the world's most celebrated wine regions. Along the way, your driver-guide will introduce you to the distinctive geography of the Saint-Émilion AOC, explaining how its limestone plateau, sun-drenched slopes, and varied terroir shape the character, complexity, and flavour of the wines produced here.
The heart of the day unfolds across two carefully chosen Châteaux, where you'll go behind the scenes to see how the estates craft their wines, from vine to bottle, before sitting down to taste some of the finest pours each has to offer. These intimate visits offer a genuine window into the artistry and tradition behind Saint-Émilion winemaking, far removed from the crowds of a typical tasting room.
Midday brings a pause to savour the region's rustic cuisine over lunch at a local restaurant (Lunch is not included, though your guide is happy to arrange a reservation in advance), a welcome opportunity to relax and refuel amid the vineyards before continuing your exploration.
In the afternoon, you'll wander the cobbled streets of Saint-Émilion itself, a beautifully preserved medieval town perched above its own vineyards and recognised by UNESCO as a cultural landscape, one of the very first wine regions in the world to receive that distinction. With your guide leading the way, you'll take in the town's monolithic church, Romanesque architecture, and sweeping views over the surrounding countryside, gaining a deeper understanding of how this small hilltop village became synonymous with world-class wine.
By the time you're dropped back at your hotel in Bordeaux, you'll have enjoyed a fitting introduction to one of the world's great wine regions and uncovered what makes Saint-Émilion so exceptional.
