Felix was a great host and gave us a great opportunity to learn about Bordeaux wines. He explained the different regions and the process and helped us learn to describe what we like in a wine. It was a great time.
James was so knowledgeable, this was such a fantastic wine tasting session, we both loved it. James knowledgeable of wine was outstanding. His explanations of the wines and processes of production and classification were simple clear and landed with us. Way better than the whole day tour we went on the day before. Great wines. Highly recommended
I mean, let’s admit you visit Bordeaux because of wine, and learning about different wines within Bordeaux leads to understanding of so much more than just in the region, but weather and culture. James was so wonderful, and I only hope that my wife and I get to visit Bordeaux again, do the tasting again- we learned so much more in 1 hour than having to bear pretentious rambling of our ‘wino’ friends. James recommended a ruin and a wine bar that perfectly complimented our trip after the tasting. Thank you very much
We love the Regina Hotel in Bordeaux, France. The hotel is a small traditional French hotel. It is in a beautiful classic French building. The location, price, and staff are wonderful. It is right across the street from the Bordeaux train station, so very convenient for us as we travel to southern France and on into Spain. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is also very nice and traditionally French. The region of the city has everything you might like to see or need.
Loads and loads of information in a lovely room, 4 small tastes of wine, tasty snacks...............
We had an English wine expert who was very knowledgeable of the wines and history of Bordeaux. The wines we sampled were very nice and we had a great afternoon.
Great experience! We had a very good time. James was wonderful explaining the basics about the Bordeaux wine DOC’s, the process of wine tasting and patiently answering questions about wine in general in an easy going and relaxed style. Highly recommended.
James was a fantastic - a generous and intelligent health. Great story teller and shared his passion for wine and food.
The experience was enjoyable, however the photos in the booking lead you to believe you are doing a taste instruction with two brothers, when the host is neither of the gentlemen shown and only one person, which I found to be a bit misleading, especially after reading all the great reviews about the brothers. Our host was certainly very knowledgeable, but did tend to ramble a bit and I found myself, as somewhat of a novice, tuning out, as I didn't really understand what was going on or how to properly taste the wines, as I thought we would be taught, as this was also listed in the experience description. All in all, a nice experience and I would recommend it to intermediate and above wine tasters, but perhaps the description/photos need to be changed to portray a more accurate explanation.
I’ve been to a lot of wine tastings around the world and this was one of the best. Very very knowledgable about wines, explained how to properly taste them. Talked about the history of Bordeaux wines. Was able to answer any and all questions. Would highly recommend! The actual wine and the charcuterie on the side were also amazing!
Very informative session on Bordeaux wines that included 3 tasting size glasses of wine. Great host!
Lovely wine tasting while learning about Bordeaux and how they rate wines! Very interactive and the wines tasted amazing
We're complete wine beginners, so this was a good English language introduction to Bordeaux wines. Lots of opportunities to ask questions. Tasting was two reds (I didn't get the names) and a white (a Bordeaux Sin). A small charcuterie board (a slice of bread, cheese and ham) was ok.
Great spot in Bordeaux to understand the history of wine in the region as well as the certification and governance process that allows wine makers to be able to label the wine as coming from the Bordeaux region. Recommend this for all the wine lovers.
This was very well presented and we learned a lot about how to taste wine. however, it was overbooked and quite crowded so rather cramped. the Local cheese and ham from Basque Country included was not made available. overall, a good experience which we would recommend.
This was an entertaining tasting of several wines and a great introduction to the Bordeaux region. We learned about the different areas, appellations, and grapes used in Bordeaux wines with a good tasting of 3 different wines, 2 of which were Grand Cru Classés. The event was held in a wine shop in their beautiful upstairs tasting room. It also included great breads, cheeses, and meats to pair with the wines. My only complaint was that the talk was a tiny bit rambling; I wish he had stuck more to a script for intermediate wine drinkers.
Very friendly and easy going. Speaker was excellent and very friendly. Definitely recommend it to anyone
We had super afternoon wine tasting with a great, enthusiastic and knowledgeable host and great wine! Would definitely recommend!
My wife, Lynn, and I had an absolutely enjoyable experience. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Geoffroy and taken upstairs to the tasting room. The set-up of the room was very comfortable. We soon began the event after the arrival of a few other guests; all of whom were friendly and interesting. Geoffroy did an amazing presentation about Bordeaux wines which was both entertaining and informative. We then tasted a few different wines and learned about all the aspects involved in understanding different wines. I would highly recommend this experience when you are in Bordeaux
This was a really informative and fun way to learn more about wine tasting. Maybe start here and then go on a winery tour. Great experience.
We had the most fantastic couple of hours at this wine tasting experience, our host was second to none - very knowledgeable and humorous in the delivery. We were all captivated and came away with a lot more knowledge than when we entered the room.
They were very knowledgeable, welcoming, funny, charming, and friendly hosts! It was a super fun and educational experience. I recommend their wine tasting 100%. They were flexible for vegans and vegetarians. Just let them know ahead of time. And after they were happy to share lots of recommendations for Bordeaux!
Great storytelling and good wines! Would recommend! Also good for solo travel as you meet people here.
A great time, very knowledgeable and entertaining team, good wine (& measures) with the correct amount of bread, meat and cheese to accompany. A great afternoon and well worth the money, highly recommended.
We had a great experience. Learned about the different wines and blends of France from the left bank versus the right bank. Learned the steps in tasting wine and how food changes the wine on the palate. We were very glad we decided to go to the cellar.
A fantastic wine tasting afternoon. It was fun with lots of laughter. Learnt a whole lot about wines. These guys are great 🇫🇷 note the tastings are only at 2.30pm not 11am as indicated on Viator website
Our host was fun and entertaining as he took us through the steps of discovering the differences between wines form the Left and Right bank of the Bordeaux region. We enjoyed this tour!
A nice mix of participants from France, America ,Scotland and myself from Ireland. The class was enjoyable, the wine good and bread with cheese and ham provided. We did not go to a winery just upstairs in the shop.
Our family had fun whilst learning, would thoroughly recommend! Relaxing environment with lots of humour.
We loved this tour. We only had one of the brothers as the other was on vacation, but Pierre was SUCH a great host and teacher. He made the class fun and really educational. I loved that it wasn’t at all pretentious. We highly recommend this tour!
What an excellent way to spend an hour and a half in the centre of Bordeaux with a charming host in Pierre. He took us on an educational journey that all the family could enjoy (two sons over 18) with a good balance of knowledge and interest. Finishing with a blind tasting - can you get your name in the board? Held in an intimate setting in a tasting room above the main shop. Would thoroughly recommend and great value. Thanks Pierre!
Proper, useable and fun education about Bordeaux wine, and wine in general. No pretentious swilling or cork sniffing. Wine noob approved.
Insightful and educational experience. This was not a tasting for the sake of drinking, but a true learning experience. I thought I know a decent amount about wine, but learned so much. Fun atmosphere in the cutest wine shop!
Fabulous, funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommend! An excellent introduction into the complex matter of Bordeaux wines.
The enthusiasm and the positive and attitude from the presenter. Easy to understand and learn how to taste the wines.
Really great experience, fun way to learn more about the fundamentals of wine tasting and regional wine characteristics
This was a highlight of our trip. Well worth it! An informative and enjoyable experience. We wished they offered more tours / experiences as it was superb!
Geoffrey was entertaining whilst still educating us about Bordeaux wines. He had to speak in both French and English for our mixed group- but he did so with such fluency and lightness - it enhanced the experience! His pairings of the cheese and jamon were perfect with the wines. His explanations were clear and honest. The room was charming and airy. He suggested some nice bottles for us to buy at very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this wine tasting as Geoffrey is such a great host!
It was a very fun and educational session! We learned a lot about tasting wine and the Bordeaux region. Absolutely recommend it.
The brother's brought tasting to life with humor and fun! The class provided a real education into the art and science of wine tasting, taught by a bona fide sommelier.
A really good two hours spent learning about wine from Bordeaux. Interesting, challenging and funny all at the same time. Geoffroy did a great job keeping us engaged and the wine and snacks were great. I’d thoroughly recommend it.
My friends and I loved this experience in Bordeaux! The hosts were friendly, knowledgable, and easy on the eyes. Would recommend to anyone looking to get an intro course to the bordeaux wine region.
Really knowledgable guys. Great couple of hours trying and learning about wines. Highly recommend it to anyone in Bordeaux.
Not just a tasting. A genuine educational experience that we enjoyed fully. Would recommend and even do again.
This was more a Bordeaux wine lesson than a tasting, but it was super informative and really interesting. Tasted 3 wines, which gave a good idea what to go for in the future. Highly recommended!
We had a fun time and found out a lot about Bordeaux wine, I think for first time wine tasting it’s ideal
Super informative, friendly and fun. Great wine too! Wines are not cheapo wines and having a bite of food really helps. Small group and private feeling as you are upstairs from the wine shop.
Very nice presentation. Fun, professional, and adjusted for the audience of the visit. Enjoyed it very much!
Had a great time. Me and my friends were very impressed and we would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about wine in Bordeaux
