This was a great tour! So happy that we booked it! Kate was our guide and she was exceptionally good. We saw parts of Bordeaux we would not have discovered if it wasn’t for her. And she was so patient allowing us into a few stores to browse and purchase gifts in addition to the stops she had planned. We highly recommend her!

Our wine and food tour with Simone was the perfect first-day activity in Bordeaux to learn the area and its unique flavors, history and neighborhoods. Our son and DIL did this same tour a few years ago and referred us to the tour and Simone. We’ve made her a member of our family now :) As we met other travelers in Bordeaux, none of them has the insights to the city or the “lay of the land” like we did, thanks to the tour. We received wonderful advice on using the trams, dinner suggestions and even the other must-visit places that weren’t on the tour. We will look forward to visiting again and referring others to this experience with a true local!
Very informative, great history of Bordeaux, went to many establishments frequented by locals. Helen was a great guide!
This tour surprised me because I did not know all we were tasting were pieces of desert!! For the cost $$$ of the tour this was ridiculous. The tour guide was just ok!! I did loved the Oysters, but my daughter had no meal since we found out the tour had no other choice but shrimp !! So for my $300 plus charge that is insane !
A wonderful way to see the beautiful city of Bordeaux and to learn about its history. Helen, our guide, was so knowledgeable and also gave us suggestions of places to see and restaurants to enjoy during our stay. We tasted amazing food along the tour…chocolates, fresh seafood, Iberian ham, and the delicious Canales of Bordeaux among others. Truly one of the best tours we have been on. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Bordeaux. Ann and Ed Gough
Kate was wonderful! Great knowledge and friendly chat. Good selection of food and drink. Highly recommended!
Fran was lovely and very knowledgeable about the city. Make sure to be hungry, we tasted sweet and savory snacks all along the way as well as meats and fish. Bordeaux has a contemporary vibe even though it is steeped with history…nice to see it through the eyes of someone who has a real connection to the city.
Deborah was wonderful. The walking trip was exactly what we were looking for. The tastes of coffees, croissants, chocolates, Spanish delights, wines, seafood, olive oils and cheeses surpassed our expectations. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you!
We had an absolutely wonderful time with Ciara! She knew the area like the back of her hand and was a wealth of information. We stopped at multiple specialty shops for food and wine tastings and could not have been happier. We would recommend this tour to anyone! Good luck with baby number two Ciara😊
This tour in Bordeaux was a great way to learn much about the city as well as experiencing some small bites and some wine. It’s much more than a culinary and wine tasting tour. We learned a great deal of history and three hours was just the right amount to get a good flavor for, the history of the architecture and the region of Bordeaux. Helen is a great guide and I would highly recommend this tour.
I had an amazing time exploring the restaurants and markets in Bordeaux and sampling some delicious culinary treats along the way. Frances is a knowledgable and bi-lingual guide who planned ahead to give her customers an unforgettable experience. Good value too.
This tour was the highlight of my trip to Bordeaux. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Bordeaux, and we saw a bunch of incredible buildings with fascinating architecture and learned so much about Bordeaux and its culture. There were wonderful surprise stops along the way to eat local cheeses, seafood, chocolates and then finished at a local French wine bar. There was great energy and excitement in the tour and I’m glad I chose to do it. A must when visiting Bordeaux. Highly recommend.
This is a must do in Bordeaux, whether you're travelling with family or friends. We were treated to some excellent food sampling, wonderful wine and saw historical sites which we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Highly recommend Frances as a guide and this tour.
Simona was very knowledgeable about the history of Bordeaux. We visited lovely businesses for a wonderful flavor of the city; canneles, cheese, chocolates, wine and oysters! We tried our first oysters ever at the restaurant she chose for us! She was sweet and kind and spoke English fluently, which we appreciated!
Helen was a superstar guide. Very knowledgeable about the city and region. She provided lots of history about key sights, delicious food tastings and lunch. I would recommend this tour.
Bonner Travel Food Tour is a must do experience if you visit Bordeaux! Our family of five recently did this tour and it was a highlight for everyone. During the tour we heard intriguing stories about the city's rich history and had the opportunity to experience the incredible local cuisine. Our informative guide Helen led us through hidden gems around the city where we got to sample wonderful produce and delicious local wines. Over the course of three hours we ambled through the cobbled streets, tasting the delicacies of the area and gaining an insight into the local way of life. It was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend it!
I thoroughly enjoyed Fran's fab gourmet tour. We felt we had a really local experience and would never have found the hidden historical places that Fran knew all about. Delicious generous portions that delighted this foodie. Thanks Fran
Fabulous experience. Perfect balance of history and food. We learned about the culture of France and how the food from various regions shapes it. Simona was an excellent tour guide. Would go on any tour she is running.
Even though it was a public holiday in France on the 8th May our guide Helen gave us a fantastic tour. We experienced an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting at 'Oliviers & Co' and who knew there was so much variety. Then we moved onto fish tasting at 'la belle-iloise' before ending with wine and cheese at world wine store and art gallery 'Feral'. This all mixed in with visits to shops selling local sweet treats Caneles, Dunes Blanches and Classic Moyen's and much much more. It was a fantastic day and we wouldn't have experienced the history of the city without Helen's help. 10 out of 10 and we look forward to returning to Bordeaux one day soon
What a tour!!!! Fantastic experience in Bordeaux with Frances. Went to the Marche De Capucine, and loved wandering around the quirky streets off the beaten path. Also visited the French Chocolatier and the magnificent cathedral and just felt that you truly experienced a real taste of France.
I absolutely loved The Bordeaux Food Tasting and Historical Walking Tour. I have been on many food tours during my travels and this is up there with the best. This tour gave a real authentic taste of French food and flavors accompanied by informative insights into the local culture and history of Bordeaux. I was delighted that Frances our host was bi-lingual and seamlessly went from English to French when needed to much delight from the local vendors. The Marche De Capucine, French Chocolatier were a wonderful experience. Couldn’t recommend more. Bridie L
The Bordeaux Food Tour is a must do while you’re in Bordeaux. It was a wonderful way to begin our trip and exceeded our expectations. Highlights were The French Chocolatier, The magnificent Cathedral and Marche De Capucine. We enjoyed every second of this tour, as our host Frances, was so informative and knowledgeable while also being a fluent French speaker, which added to some fun moments during our stops with the locals. We were given a super insight to the history, architecture and culture and of course the delicious food of the area and thoroughly recommend. A.N..
