Very helpful guy in the office, gave us all sorts of maps and info. Great City Pass calculator online, so we took advantage of the 3 day one and saved a fortune. Assuming that the tourist office is in charge of their website, sorry but there is so much that doesn’t work, e.g. City Wi-Fi hotspots constantly told me my clock was wrong and wouldn’t let me in. So never benefited from the free City Wi-Fi. Also we had to actually go to the office to pick up the City Pass. Come on guys, it’s 2026 – digital download on smartphones maybe …. We also had to go back to the office to book the river cruise – no idea why as for everything else we just showed our City Pass.

If you plan and take advantage of everything/most things this pass offers, it is a good value, but if you will only be using the transport a couple of times and only visit 2 or so places, I don't think it is a good value. The pass also comes with a free guided tour, or 1 tour via tram, or a boat tour, but all has to be booked at the tourism office.
Extremely welcoming & helpful. Bought my CityPass here & the lady (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) fully explained the options and functionality. She booked my Petit Train tour (free option with the City Pass) and I was off and away within 10 minutes! Excellent service!
I bought the 96-hour pass and worked my way through the vast majority of the attractions booklet that came with it. I visited between 2-3 attractions each day and opted for the Little Electric Train tour also. I estimate a saving of approx 25 Euros based on my visits and what I would have spent had I paid for each separately. Having the Pass helped me plan my visits and probably visit a couple more attractions than I otherwise would have. The Pass has to be bought/collected from the Tourist Information Office in the centre of town.
If you are headed to Bordeaux, don’t sleep on this pass!! It covered all public transportation (tram was super easy to use). It even covered a number of museums - the Wine Museum was amazing. It allows discounted activities as well - we rode the Ferris wheel at the Christmas Market for 1/2 price.
My friends & I bought the 48-hour pass and it was well worth the money. We were able to take advantage of a number of the included places & activities. The most memorable for me were the Cite du Vin and Bassins de Lumieres. City buses and the Tram system were very easy to use. The price was a bargain!
We purchased the City Pass to take advantage of all the attractions included in the Pass. Unfortunately, we ended up being a little limited due to health reasons but what we did get to, we enjoyed very much. We saw La Cité du Vin, Bassins des Lumières, boat tour on the Garrone river, Pey-Berland Tower (exterior only, could not get a time slot to climb it). We were also unable to partake in the Bordeaux Wine Tasting Workshop, which was sold out during the 72 hours our card was valid. Before purchasing this versatile card, you should calculate just how many attractions you could attend in the allotted time, to see if it makes financial sense. And at peak tourist season, I suspect those requiring a reservation could be easily sold out. One great thing the card includes is free urban public transport, which can really save you some money if you use it for all your local travels, as we did. And the tram system is fantastic! Ligne B was our favorite, as the Grand Théâtre stops along Cr de l'Intendance were just a short walk from our hotel! Clean, quiet and never a long wait, they were our favorite way of getting around Bordeaux. And the clanging of their bells just sings Bordeaux!!
Worth the money if you plan on going to the various attractions to which the card entitles you. Bordeaux is easily walked so I never used the public transport which is included (and excellent).
We used the 72 hours city Pass on trams and buses. We visited Cite Du Vin, Bassins de Lumierres, Musee du Vin and trades and some other museums. It's really worth it !!
Great value for the money. Hop on a tram at any stop and ride it until you care to stop. Museums are generally free.
What an amazing service. Very helpful, fun and considerate. The gal that helped me was fantastic. She even was able to joke in English - she made my day. Thank you.
An easy choice if you want to visit a few museums and wine related options. Tram and bus network can get you around also so it is really convenient. Great value when taking a few tours - river boat, wine museum, world of wine included
If you are going to Bordeaux I would highly recommend this pass. Unlike larger cites (Paris for one} the tram system is easy to use and very clean and efficient. Plus it gets you into all the places that you want to see. Even though I only had two days to use a 3 day pass (I gave it away to a local) I am very happy to have had it. And, the woman at the Tourist Bureau was VERY friendly and helpful.
The City Pass is a great idea if you are being a tourist and want to visit the sights. I bought the 72 hour one and felt that it represented excellent value, especially since it includes entrance to the Cité du Vin and the Bassins des Lumières. Don't miss out on the guided visits which are included - the one at the Palais Rohan was excellent and the river cruise very enjoyable!
The pass is an excellent choice. I rarely buy these city passes as they don't always offer a good value for money but this one does. We took the 3-day one and on top of free transport we were able to visit loads of places. Some need pre-booking (Tour Pey-Berland is one of them) but you can do this online.
Bordeaux Pass works on all trams and buses and a number of museums and other places of interest. We had a 72 hour pass and made up the cost (€59 pp) in no time.
The tourist office is centrally located near the Opera. When we visited in July it was open Mon-Sat 9.00 to 18.30 and Sun 9.30 to 17.00. A large selection of brochures is offered and also it is possible to buy the Bordeaux City Pass which was our main reason to visit. Included in the City Pass is a guided tour and a very friendly and helpful team member made the necessary reservations for us. Several different souvenirs are also offered in the gift shop here.
We enjoyed easy safe public transportation for our 3 days, along with a boat trip and museum visits. A great value and valuable addition to our Bordeaux experiences.
There are no better people to ask but experts. Even with a week here in the city we didn't want to spend our days helplessly following Google maps. A very knowledgeable advisor pointed out the places that would interest us and suggest how we could plan our days. Saving on entry fees and getting around with a 'citypass'. We are sure to have a great time!
We purchased the 48 hour city pass in advance and so glad we did. The museums alone were worth the purchase. Once you’ve purchased your pass online be sure to go to the visitors center and present your voucher. They will give you a card that you’ll present for entry to the various tours.
Just wonderful and helpful service from Beatrice! So kind and patient and considerate! We purchased two Day Pass tickets and saved a substantial amount of time and money because of her advice.
We found the staff here excellent, so friendly and helpful, and answered every question we asked. Nice unhurried experience.
We got the 72hr pass which we thought was great value, as long as you put the hours in and want to see lots! Only poor part was the city walking tour. Would avoid this unless you speak French. The guide talked about 75% French and 25% French. Was fairly obvious those listening in French were getting far more information than us. Didn’t make it far in two hours, and the information we got was pretty dry. Shame as the service from the tourist office was great, and the customer experience with the pass itself is great. Much recommend doing a few trips on the Bat3 Waterbus, which is included.
We loved this City Pass. We went on the Electric train for our free trip of the City. Visited about half the museums and used the trams a lot, and also the tram and bus back to the airport. If you use it correctly, it is great value. I would recommend.
Currently in Bordeaux for 6 days. Bought 2 x 72 hr passes for first 3 days. Day 1 did the open top bus tour (this one not included, extra 28 euros). Day 2 (first Sunday of month) lots of the galleries are free so card redundant but very long queues. Day 3 (bank holiday) many places closed (including Tourist Info Centre). Travel Cards with this experience definitely not worth the money. Still don’t know why we weren’t informed as such when we first went into the Tourist Centre. Poor impression left.
If you’re coming to Bordeaux by train, don’t buy your city pass online. We did, and when we wanted to exchange the voucher for the city pass, they told us we needed to do this from the city center. To get to the city centre, you need to pay for transport. Broken system.
You can use the Bordeaux City Pass on museums and transportation (both tram, bus and taxi boats). The perfect way to enjoy Bordeaux!
Good option if you want to maximise your first visit of Bordeaux. Main museums and bus tour, Cité du vin etc. are all included. Plus you can use all public transport- unlimited trips during the life of your city pass.
We loved our four days in Bordeaux and hit the ground running to see as much of this beautiful city as we could. The Bordeaux City Pass is a MUST to get onto the busses and into so many venues without having to stand in a ticket line. We hope to return for another visit and the City Pass will be the first item we secure. The Tourism Office is a huge help on when and where to go..so much information and helpful tour agents!
The Bordeaux City Pass is worth having but it is not cheap and to get your money's worth have to use it sensibly and take care to visit various attractions when the pass is valid - some only accept it at certain times of the day. And if you are thinking of going to the Botanic Gardens do not bother unless you want a laugh - I have never seen so many weeds to the extent you really have to look for the flowers. The most attractive part is use of public transport - especially the trams - but you can get public transport passes from the transport office at Quinconches bus and tram terminus in the city centre - multi journey smart cards - which can be used for more than one person simply by tapping in twice or by however many people are travelling. If it is the public transport you want, go for the smart card bus/tram pass, particularly if you are only going to visit a handful of attractions. Take care also with the open top bus - it is NOT hop on/hop off - you have to go all the way round.
If you use this pass to travel regularly on the local tram/bus and utilise the various free entry options it can be good value. If buying online or through Trip Advisor the online ticket you receive is not your pass, you need to take it to the tourist information to redeem and receive your Pass..
we got the 72 hour pass and I think we got our moneys worth. Did the bus tour which was very good and interesting, we went in as many attractions as we could and used the trams non stop. We also took the boat taxi from Quinconces to the last stop up the river and had 45 minutes there to chill with a beer before returning, just like a river cruise. I
Used properly excellent value, 24 hr, pass. Cite de Vin, open top bus, BAT river taxi, touch screen on the marvellous bus & tram public transport system as often as you want. Full 24 hr from start to finish, ,even used it to go to Gare St Jean for airport shuttdle. Plan in front for longer durations for attractions entry and discounts. Definitely 5 *.
Fantastic visit. First one made in 1961. I got my love of France by going on an exchange with my school. My headmistress now not with us anymore gave me the chance to make friends with a French family and I am still in touch with my friend today. 58 years later!! Brilliant stay in April with good central self catering apartment. Thank you.
This pass would be great if it were more secure. It really, really, REALLY needs to be available digitally so that it can't be lost and is less easily stolen. My 48h pass was gone within 24 and it can't be cancelled or replaced. Very last century, very frustrating and very expensive!
I used a 48hr pass, which gives unlimited travel on local buses, Trams (which are excellent) and ferries. It also gives free or reduced price access to may attractions, such as the City du Vin - including wine tasting. The passes are available for 24, 48 and 72 hrs and well worth the price if you plan ahead and use them for attractions as well as transport. The passes are available on-line and delivered within a week of ordering and come with a guide book and map.
The city pass is worth its price, considering that it also includes one walking tour (also in english), unlimited travels on public transportations (which does not include bikes unfortunately), free entrance in many museums and also to Cite du Vin (before 12). And it is valid for 24h, meaning that if the first use is at 11 am, the pass is valid until the next day at 11 am
This gives free tram travel and entry to Cite du vin and museums - simply order on line and visit the tourist office to pick up with the voucher.
The City Pass was a great value! We took a walking tour, visited the Cite de Vin, the Musee des Beaux Arts and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. The pass was also very easy to use on the tramway system.
Went to the Cite du Vin (Wine Museum) interesting, But not really worth the price. Chintzy on the tasting and when we thought on the 1st sip that the wine was terrible, they would not exchange it.
Bordeaux is a gem. What a nice city. People were very friendly and the City Pass using the tram was easy to get around and get into sites. The Cite du Vin and Opera house were great. Climbed the towers.
I rarely buy City Passes, but Bordeaux really makes their City Pass well worth it. You get to ride their wonderful Tram (A, B and C) for free, every musee in town is Free, you get discounts on Wine tours, Free Walking Tour of the city and Free bus tour of the city if you like. La Cite du Vin musee is 25 Euro, the city pass covers that as long as you go before 12:00 noon and it includes a glass of wine tasting! WOW, well worth it, and the staff is super helpful and nice.
First thing in the morning in Bordeaux, everyone heads to the TI. This place was mobbed during our visit - wall to wall people first thing in the morning. We only wanted the Bordeaux Pass and tried to get in and out quickly. Try to go later in the day if you want individualized assistance.
Great way to access trams and tourist attractions Skip the free walking tour(there are others) take the red bus to get oriented to the city. Bordeaux is mainly a walking city as car have very few roads they can use. Even taxis drop you off several blocks from your destination with directions. Makes trams and walking, outdoor cafes delightful!
We were very happy to have purchased this - it encouraged us to visit places that we might not have - the Customs Museum, the Botanical Gardens and the Decorative Arts Museum. We also used it for the little train tour, the ferry boat and the tram. The Cite du Vin is a must!

City pass really good value with all transport covered and discounts on tours, restaurants, etc. Tourist office staff very nice and helpful as well.

A well-rounded complete tour for those new to the city. It included free, if you arrive before noon entry to the fascinating Cite du Vin, a short tram ride from the tourist office. On the day of our visit, the said-to-be-included walking tour was not available. Pity. Definitely recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed the walking, bus, and boat tours and the pass for the tram system simplified our stay. I highly recommend this pass.

The City Walking tour was great. Then taking the Red Bus tour got us oriented to the whole city. We could then pick and choose what sights to go back to for a longer stay.

Monday's most museums are closed !! it would be good for viator to note this when when you book a Monday city pass. A few were open and the visitor center gave us a bus audio tour since museums mostly closed.
