The Guide was lovely and did his best, but a bilingual tour with only 3 English speakers means only 20% talk time and 80% in French. The sights were interesting and good but the nature of split Languages is not the best.

This tour was a wonderful introduction to Bordeaux and it's history. The guide was easy to fine, the audio equipment worked well, and the guide was very entertaining. I'd recommend doing this on the first day to get your bearings and learn about the landmarks.
Abraham gave a memorable tour of Stone Town. The man is full of historical nuggets. Spice tour was also great.
Fun trip through a historic city. The guide brought history alive through architecture, its people, past and recent events. The time just flew by!
Very good guide. But its in both English and French so there is a lot of waiting while the guide explains everything twice. I found myself losing interest.
It was difficult to hear the guide as the group was to big. The tour was conducted in 2 languages as well which made it even more difficult to follow. We left after an hour. A pity
Easy walking thru the streets. Guide was very good. He was able to proudly explain the history of Bordeaux
We very much liked our host on the tour and she shared many important sites in the city and provided rich detail in the history. Because the tour was in French and in English (due to too many French speakers for the second guide to handle alone) the tour felt like we got half the information. There was a lot of waiting during her speaking French which made the tour feel like it dragged.
Tour guide did not show up at the meeting place. No communication whatsoever. Still waiting for Viator to resolve our refund request.
Very interested engaging with enough facts without getting overwhelmed. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and kept good control of the group
The docent who lead the tour was fantastic! The only complaint we have is that he spoke 80% of the time in French and we speak English so we missed out on a lot of details.
Great walking tour! Friendly guide who was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We visited some great places! We really enjoyed this tour.
Can be wet Well worth doing when in Bordeaux Great historical background to the city Our guide was a fountain of knowledge
Our guide was thorough, knowledgeable snd friendly and had a notebook with maps and pictures that were very helpful in understanding the history, architecture and layout of Bordeaux.
The tour was very good and insightful - Bruno (pizza boy) was very funny and charismatic I would recommend.
First we waited at the meeting point in front of Tourism office. Then we found out it was inside the tourism office to meet the guide. Second, we were told by the guide she was a last minute replacement for the actual guide. Third, we wasted a good 20 minutes because the audio devices we were given couldn’t worked with the guide’s audio. Finally, they found one working and we could start the tour. Because the group was over 20 people we needed those devices to hear the guide talk. We believe the replacement guide wasn’t too familiar with the tour as she had to do it in both French and English. She was looking for words/ explanations when she spoke in English. It wasn’t a continuous flow and there were many hesitations. The tour itself is correct as we went around the old city and saw several key landmarks. One thing to point out is because we started the tour late, the guide didn’t cut the tour short and gave us the proper amount of time for the tour. I would recommend this tour with a guide that has done it several times. If the tour is done in two languages then it has to be done with a fully bilingual person.
Tour in both French and English ( which we were not told ahead) so stops took at least twice as long since leader had to present in each language separately. Leader had no name tag or company info and said « no » when I asked before tour start if she was with the English Viator tour. Took a call from me to Viator to straighten out. We left tour after first 45 minutes when we were still at first stop. A surprise since our Viator experiences have been excellent.
This walking tour was supposed to be a small group, unfortunately the tour guide “inherited” a group of French speaking only tourists which made it difficult to hear him whenever he spoke, plus majority of the time he spoke in French. He would give us short explanations in English but most of the time tour was in French. He tried very hard. Unfortunately we believe maybe the tour guide for the French speaking group didn’t show up therefore they joined our group. We were disappointed about this especially because we don’t speak French, and paid for an English tour.
Extremely informative and a wonderful woman guide who spoke three languages... We learn so much about the history of this area.
We enjoyed a 2 hour walk though the history of Bordeaux with Hubert - perfectly pitched and a must do on a visit to this glorious city
Absolutely lovely! Very informative and funny guide. She took us through the history of the city and translated regularly. Would recommend!
Very enjoyable & interesting walk. A brief history of Bordeaux with good insights into life here. The walk was taken at a very slow pace so everyone could look, learn & walk. It was a french & english speaking tour guide.
Guide was knowledgeable and funny. Made for an enjoyable way to learn about the city. I recommend the tour for your first time to Bordeaux.
DO NOT GO ON THIS IF YOU ARE ENGLISH! It says bilingual tour but it’s very much a French tour with a side of English. They go into much more depth in French and then give you a rushed overview in English whilst you move to the next location. You are left standing and waiting for the majority of the 2 hours listening to French. Do not recommend spending you morning on this tour. It is not bilingual - definitely book an English only tour with someone else.
Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and personable guide (tour over ran by 20 minutes because of this). .........,............,....n.....
I’ve gone on many walking tours during my travels. I would have to say that this was the least satisfying. Al, our tour guide was excellent, a native of Bordeaux. The information throughout the tour was delivered in French and English. I would have to say it was about 2/3 French and 1/3 English. I understand why - French is his native language and the group had a sizable number of French people. There was more conversations & jokes shared & understood among them. Aside from that, I appreciated the explanation of the symbolism in the statuary and fountains and how the tram was built.
Excellent descriptions by our guide. Entertaining and informative. Would recommend to anyone not au fait with Bordeaux’s rebellious history
Guide passionate about history. The tour was very informative. Learnt a lot about Bordeaux during our short tour. Thank you.
Our tour guide Carol was excellent. She explained the history of the region and wine making. Worth the trip. We really enjoyed it.
Bruno was an excellent guide, amusing and knowledgeable. Tour given in French and English. Would have preferred less time listening to information on the river at the start, which was perhaps 20 minutes, and instead heard more about the history of the buildings and monuments. Learned a lot on this tour and very pleased to have been ion it. Thank you, Bruno.
Carl gave an Enjoyable and interesting tour - he was very knowledgeable and even stayed an extra 15 minutes to answer some historical queries and gave a great recommendation for dinner/drinks
Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Patiently answered all questions. Loved learning about the history. Would wish for it to cover some more sights such as the Chathedral. Same guide speaks in both English and French so it makes the tour slow.
Very good tour, really enjoyed it. Tour in French & English. Very relaxed and informative. Ear phones provided. Sometimes difficult to ask a question during tour, as tour guide went into auto-pilot!
Very good and informative and i got good advice about where to go for the traditional cake, in a lovely part of the city
All the history and the port, our guide Christine was excellent. Bordeaux is a beauty! Highly recommend this tour.
Brigette was a truly passionate guide who loves her city. Her insight and knowledge was remarkable 👏 even giving us a peak behind some closed doors!!!
Was ok didnt see as many sights as would have liked, was in two languages so there was a lot of waiting around while things got explained twice
We had an excellent guide, Christine, who brought the city to life, seamlessly alternating between English and French. She pointed out architectural details and told us about the interesting history of Bordeaux. Meeting points were very clear.
Bordeaux City Sights Walking Tour Bordeaux Scammed by Viator!! 936736299 We booked a 4 hour walking tour in Bordeaux France and immediately were in contact with the local guide on the “WhatsApp” site. I told her we were arriving via Norwegian Cruise line so she picked our meeting sight which was supposedly within walking distance of the ship. Our meeting time was noon so as soon as we docked I googled the meeting point and it was 2 hours away! I immediately contacted Yarin Yildiz and was told she could not provide the tour! When I asked for our refund of $155. she said she’d check with her supervisor. We were told there would be no refund because it was less than 24 hours - their cancellation policy. We didn’t pick the meeting place - the local guide did! We are still waiting for our refund from Viator! Scam artists
This was an interesting and informative tour around the old part of this beautiful city. I definitely recommend it.
Very informative and entertaining guide. Definitely worth doing the tour as we saw and learned things we wouldn't have done otherwise. Learning about the history of Bordeaux was very interesting.
Very good and informed guide. Some times her flow from French into English meant that I would miss some of the points as I was only waiting for the English comment. She gave us a good understanding of the city and revealed many facts that were new to me.
A good walking tour. I felt that there was too much history at the beginning, but the walk then had references to many of the historic events.
I really enjoyed this 2hr walking tour through the old city. The guide ( English speaking) was so knowledgeable and Bordeaux has so many beautiful historic buildings - I could have seen them myself but not had nearly as good an experience. €12 was fantastic value. Tip: wear comfy shoes for the cobbled streets!
Two hours well spent. A great walking tour with our guide Alexandre and his good mix of introducing history, wine, restaurants, and interesting stories.
The joining instructions were very poor I had details of the ending point but only a tiny map of starting point . This is why I never made it even the locals struggled to understand . Hence I never made it !
Super walking tour! The guide spoke both in English and French we all had ear sets so we could hear every word. I would suggest you take the early tour as it can get very hot, the guide made sure to stop where there was shade. The ground was mainly level and flat but if you have reduced mobility you would have some trouble keeping up. Great value for money. I went on my last day in the city so it was nice to put much of what I had seen into historic and cultural perspective.
I booked an English walking tour but the guide spoke in French for most of the tour 🥺. There was less than 25% of the group speaking french
Our guide Jenny helped us when we made a mistake on the date on our voucher and it made our day special to start the tour. She was very personable and made sure everyone could hear her and see the sights. She kept us safe from the protesters that were gathering nearby. She was very knowledgeable about many areas. Thank you.
Nicholas, our guide, was very knowledgeable and informative. We learned a lot about the meaning of the architecture in Bordeaux.
