Employs a very rude bellman/ parking manager, we were refused the ability to eat lunch at their restaurant at the hotel because the parking manager took it upon himself to determine that we were only telling him we were eating there because we wanted to park our McLarens there. We even offered to purchase a room for the evening because it did not seem that he believed we had the intention of spending money at the hotel. I’m not sure what kind of business refuses money because their employees are too lazy to park cars, or not park cars - leave them in front of your hotel as did the last dozen five star hotels we stayed at in Europe. They are supercars they will only attract business. Lacking etiquette and common sense. Never in my life have we pulled up to a business in half a million dollars in vehicles and been refused entry & service due to jealousy and or laziness. I guess that’s a French tradition. If you are expecting English/ American service from an English hotel brand, this is not the one! IHG platinum elite status and was refused service at their hotel. Edit to hotels response - We are fully aware of your location, which is why we wanted to eat at your rooftop restaurant. This visit was not for “photography purposes”. This again, is your manager making assumptions rather than listening to the client. We absolutely offered to book a room in order for your valet to park our cars, right after he referenced that valet parking was only for hotel guests and not restaurant guests, per your policy, we did not care where the cars would be parked. We wanted to have a good meal in the center of Bordeaux with a view and were denied that privilege, as well as booking a room to enjoy that privilege in accordance to your policy to accommodate our vehicles using your valet parking. Does that sound polite?

We stayed at the InterContinental Bordeaux after our wedding, and it was the perfect way to end such a special trip. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and genuinely kind. They made us feel incredibly special, and nothing was ever too much trouble. What meant the most was how wonderfully they treated our two-year-old son. The team made such an effort to include him with so many thoughtful little touches, and seeing how excited and happy he was made our stay even more memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it's the people who really make it exceptional. We also loved the breakfast – the selection was fantastic, everything was delicious, and it was the perfect start to each day. Thank you to everyone at the InterContinental for making the end of our wedding trip so special. We left with wonderful memories and can't wait to come back.
We are currently staying here. There is a music festival that is right in front of the hotel. Blaring metal music until midnight. We were never told of this in advance. DO NOT STAY HERE AT THE END OF JUNE!!! Coming from the United States, this is like a best western 2/3 star hotel. I have videos of the screaming music. Again we were never told of this in advance. Imagine a rock concert right outside your window. Other bad things: -breakfast is awful. They repour old coffee that no one uses back into the main pot. So you get other people’s coffee. In America, that would be a health code violation. Again I have proof. The room service man with the man bun is nasty. Our rooms air conditioning went out. They tried to make us move rooms under suspicious circumstances. They will only give you 2 water bottles a day. And they take them if you get more than 1. Don’t stay here. Arguably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in—across rooms, service, and location, it delivers on every front. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of Bordeaux, making it incredibly easy to walk everywhere. From charming streets and boutiques to restaurants and key landmarks, everything feels just steps away, which makes exploring the city effortless and enjoyable. The hotel itself is stunning. The lobby is grand and elegant, setting the tone the moment you walk in. The top floor offers breathtaking views of the city—an experience in itself, especially overlooking the iconic opera house. Our room was exceptional. We had three balconies, two of which directly faced the incredible Grand Théâtre—it felt like having a front-row seat to one of Bordeaux’s most beautiful landmarks. Truly special. But what stood out the most was the service. Philippe at the concierge was simply unbelievable. He went above and beyond—helping us plan our day trips, recommending and booking wine tastings and restaurants, and even taking the time to fix my broken glasses (which had completely split into two!). That level of care and attention is rare, and it made our stay unforgettable. A world-class experience all around. Highly recommend.
Gorgeous hotel across a square from the equally beautiful opera house. We stayed one night before our Viking river cruise and were so tired from our train trip we ordered room service for dinner. It was superb and really reduced the tension from the trip. The check-in was pleasant and we were able to get the upgrade from amex platinum as well as use the related credit toward the room service dinner. The suite was beautiful and clean. The hotel has a small gym which I was grateful to use. In addition to the two high end restaurants on site, there is an adjacent tea room good for lunch and a delightful chocolate shop. Oh also the breakfast buffet is fabulous.
