Not the best hotel experience We have ever had.
We stayed for a night to break the journey. From reviews, it seems perfect. Check in was fine.
Room, well, there was water dripping from the toilet which was a bit annoying. We were both very tired after a long day of driving so just put up with it. I puty earplugs in overnight.
Breakfast, a very nice view of the lake from the breakfast room. Very busy, noisy and some flies around. Some food items were out. Seems they couldn't keep on top of the busy breakfast service. Anyway, one night stay was alright. Not sure if I would be considering staying there again for future trips in Bordeaux.
Good hotel, friendly staff, perfect for a stop on the road to Spain. We enjoyed the breakfast. Suitable for families. The swimming pool was nice. Unfortunately there is no real charger for electric cars. You can only charge there with a normal plug, which is very slow and would require a suitable adapter. However, there are other fast chargers in the area, for example at the Novotel next door.
Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Stayed in Pullman hotels before . Reception area is deceiving. Our room was scruffy. Marks on the walls & chipped door. Cracked basin & no seal in shower so every time the bathroom floor was soaked. Maid inconsistent on providing any bath mat. Bedroom dust on side tables not wiped. Is the plastic sheet on the bed really necessary? Tend to cause sweating at night & stick to it.
The pool area was also scruffy. Umbrellas were damaged & a lovely scum line around the pool. The one time we ate in the restaurant, the choice was very limited & the steak was mostly fat.
The one good thing was the easy access to a tramline across the road & the location of a great bar on the lake, behind the Novotel.
A note to the manager…. After speaking to Rebecca, who was no help whatsoever I would seriously go around each room & inspect what the paying guests are staying in. Very disappointed for a 4 star Pullman Hotel. The place needs refurbishment on each floor, not just the fourth. We were there for a week. We will not be back for sure!! Rant over…… 🙄
Fabulous hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast. There is a tram stop outside the hotel that takes you directly to the centre of Bordeux in 25 mins. Very friendly staff. Ask for a room with a view of the lake.
Among the many hotels near the Bordeaux convention center, this was one of the better-value options. The staff were friendly, the facilities were in line with what you would expect from a solid European business hotel, and the breakfast was especially good. The main drawback is the lack of nearby shops for basic groceries or snacks. Since many restaurants in the area also close on weekends, it is wise to buy food and drinks in advance.
