Private Bora Bora Lagoon & Water Lunch Experience

Absolutely amazing...the food was delicious native food. The snorkling was stunning. This adventure was fantastic.

The lunch was extremely disappointing and honestly felt misleading. The main reasons we chose this tour was because of the beautiful lunch photos shown in the listing, but what we received looked completely different. There was no decoration at all, everything felt very rushed and careless, and the only fruit provided was bananas. Meanwhile, we could see from the social media that our tour groups having nicely decorated lunches, music, and a variety of fruits. That tour was only 180 per person while our tour is 500+ per person, which is unacceptable. We really feel disappointed about the lunch experience because it did not match what was advertised at all. Everything else about this tour was amazing - the snorkeling, the boat, and especially the captain. I can’t swim, so I was honestly nervous at first, but the captain stayed with me the whole time and made me feel very safe and taken care of. That part was truly wonderful.

My wife and I did the private snorkeling and lunch experience recently and it was amazing! Our guide Teiva was so friendly and he knew all the best spots to see some amazing wildlife. He brought us to 5 spots in total, seeing something incredible at each one. We saw Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, Sting Rays and Black Tip Sharks. We got to swim with each of them and observe them from the water. We wrapped up snorkeling by going to a coral farm where we got to swim around and see some awesome tropical fish we hadn't already. After snorkeling we went to a small private island for a fantastic traditional Tahitian lunch with lots of chicken, rice, potatoes, and salad. Overall the experience was one of, if not the best, we had during our 2-week stay in French Polynesia. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for great snorkeling (it was also each of our first time snorkeling in open water!)

To start, it rained most the time and we STILL had an amazing time! Pickup was seamless at our resort dock and our guide was already there waiting for us. First stop was to snorkel with Manta Rays. Incredible! Way bigger and more majestic in person. The pictures don’t do it justice. Then off to stand is shallow water with stingrays and black tip reef sharks. So cool! Then to snorkel with spotted eagle rays, about 10 of them. Next stop was the nearby coral gardens. It’s like snorkeling in an aquarium! Then a boat ride to the west side of the island to more eagle rays, this time about 50 of them, and another manta ray. Lunch on the motu was amazing. Table in the water and the food was amazing! Teriyaki chicken, the local tuna/coconut milk dish, fried rice, noodle dish, curry potatoes and veggies, coconut bread, and a bottle of rose. Just amazing. Again, it was rainy and cold, and we would still give this 10 out of 5 stars. Just amazing. Book it!

This private tour was absolutely EXTRAordinary and worth every penny it cost to secure the tour. What a super special and spectacular experience! It was like living in a dream. The guide, the cook, the food, the views, the water, the private island, the other islands, the snorkeling, etc. were amazing!!!!

The snorkeling was the best we have experienced in many years, we got to swim with fish & sharks. The coral reef was the highlight with so many vibrant colors & many colorful fish. The lunch on the private Motu was amazing. The food was better than anything else we enjoyed while on Bora Bora, Including at the five star resort. And the experience of having lunch with our feet in the lagoon, with the specially set table with all natural decorations & plates was unique. Our guide made us feel special. He played his ukulele and sang while we ate. We wanted leave the confines of the resort and see Bora Bora. This tour delivered.

This was the most incredible tour we could have taken. Our amazing guide showed us dolphins, stingrays, sharks, eagle rays, coral gardens & even a manta ray! The homemade lunch on the private motu was better than any of the resort dinners we’ve had all trip. The entire tour Could not have been more perfect!!

An amazing experience!! We so enjoyed our private tour with Ken. He was at our hotel on time (earlier than expected), was exceptionally kind and showed us all around Bora Bora. Snorkeling was out of this world! Manta rays, Eagle rays, Coral Garden variety of fish and plentiful stingrays and sharks. I am a very nervous swimmer/snorkeler and uncomfortable in groups. Ken made it so easy!! He even held my hand pointing to the best views of the animals and kept me safe the whole time. HIGHLY recommend!! The lunch was incredible also, super fresh food, colorful table and incredible setting❤️ Super special day for our 25th wedding anniversary!

It was nice to experience this but I don’t think I’d pay that much for the limited time and things we did.

A Must do experience. We went snorkeling and then had a delicious picnic where we could swim afterwards.

Tevia was a great tour guide! The snorkeling was amazing, and lunch was delicious! He went above and beyond to make sure our day was special, and Was a wealth of knowledge about the island and it’s history.

This was the absolute best experience we had in our 9 days in Bora Bora. Our captain, Glenn, was informative, fun and a great guide who helped us navigate 3 different snorkeling locations and truly made for the best day. This is a must try experience to see the full island and its marine life. Glenn told us about Polynesian culture / history throughout the trip. The lunch was fantastic, the most romantic and remote location, eating great bbq food with little fish swimming all around you. 100% would do again and recommend this to anyone trying to experience the island in its full capacity. 10/10!

This was the best thing we did in Bora Bora! Glenn was the best and most informative captain, he helped my wife (beginner in the ocean) through every step. The lunch was the most magical experience, food was great, beautiful fish swimming by our feet. A truly breathtaking experience with snorkeling in 3 very different spots! I can’t say enough about how amazing this day was, the captains willingness to explain Polynesian culture and history was icing on the cake. Anyone thinking about private unique experience should book this day trip/lunch. 10/10.

From start to finish this was an incredible experience and our tour guide Tupuna made all the difference. Tupuna asked what we would like to see and we said: Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, Sting Rays, Sharks and Coral Gardens. We did it all indeed, and with calm! We enjoyed every experience for the adequate amount of time. We truly felt that our private experience was worth every cent. The over water Polynesian lunch was phenomenal!!! from the quality of the food offerings, to the tastiness of it all, to the setting. We (my husband and I) wish that everyone who enjoys snorkeling and unique experiences, has a chance to enjoy this one. This was the highlight of our trip. The snorkeling was amazing. Our guide Ken was committed to finding a manta ray (we did) and we loved that it was just us. I even got my husband to swim with sharks! The lunch set up was so special and good! Salads, fish kebobs, chicken, a massive fruit and bread spread. It was truly perfect. We were so happy. Glen was a wonderful captain and host. He was very flexible in accommodating our asks. The highlight of the tour was the swim with the sharks and the sting rays. The lunch on the Islet was idyllic. Highly recommend and ask for Glen.

The water lunch was so unique and amazing. Food was great. Our captain was so friendly. The whole tour was super fun.

We had the best time with Captain Glenn who took us to a couple of great snorkeling spots, saw manta rays and swam with reef sharks and the motu lunch was an amazing experience. Also loved doing a full circle around the island and hearing Captain Glenn’s stories of local legends and history. Highly recommend! Also make sure you bring reef shoes…they came in really handy. There was a great selection of drinks on the boat, plenty of space to sit, shade if we needed it and they had towels and flippers for us too. We brought our own snorkels but pretty sure they had those if needed.

Best part of our trip! Booked the private boat. Our tour guide, ED, was fantastic. We had amazing snorkel spots and loved being serenaded! Lunch was delicious and so much food. Highly recommend!

This tour blew us away! It was incredible. Ed was a fun guide. Swimming with sharks was unbelievable, the water was crystal clear and the boat was awesome. The snorkeling was some of the best we have ever done in the world! And the topper was the incredible lunch served in a location almost too perfect to describe. HIGHLY recommend this tour to everyone. It was our honeymoon and it was one of our highlights for sure.

This was our 3rd tour on the trip and we thought we had seen it all. We were wrong. Ken was a most pleasant & amiable guide, and took us to the most incredible spots. It truly was the best snorkeling we had ever experienced. We swam among beautiful fish (and lots of them), sharks, string rays, giant manta rays, and large eels (which he was actually petting!). A delicious and plentiful lunch was enjoyed in beautiful setting with our feet in the water and brightly colored fish swimming around our legs. It was an amazing day. Captain Arii made honor to his name and was a true King, absolutely wonderful and welcoming. He showed us around the best snorkeling spots. We could not have asked for a better tour or better captain. We saw Mantas, Eagle Rays, Sharks and many Dolphins, very very special trip. We had an amazing time touring around the island of Bora Bora. Alphonse was a great guide & brought us to multiple snorkel spots. Two of the spots were particularly beautiful. Some of us even swam with sharks and stingrays at a different stop. We had a lovely lunch on a private motu. I believe a wedding reception was at the same location the night before so our little table over the water was decorated with pretty flowers and greenery. Alphonse was friendly, knowledgeable, and showed us a great time!

Words cannot begin to express the magic that a private La Plage Lagoon and Water Lunch will bring you. I surprised my wife with the La Plage 4 hour tour complete with swimming with sharks and rays, snorkeling and a private Motu lunch. Magical! Alphonso, our captain and guide met us at our hotel dock (IHG Thalasso) at 9am sharp. I'm not going to lie, it was a great feeling to breeze past the throngs jockeying to get on crowded boats for group tours. Enter Alphonso with a smile, a cold beverage and a helping hand to negotiate the dock to speed boat transfer. Every minute after that was bliss. Crystal clear water, black tip sharks, rays, and a rainbow selection of reef fish in more sizes, colors and varieties than we could count. After a couple of stops for snorkeling we headed to the private island (motu) for a delicious lunch. I don't now why we were so hungry, but we indulged in wine; you have your choice of red, white or rose. Add in chicken and fish kabobs expertly grilled, a variety of salads , poisson cru chinois, a rice dish and top it off with Alphonso as a musical accompaniment. Fabulous is the understatement of the century! More snorkeling and then a trip across the crystal clear water back to our hotel dock in time for massages at the spa. Beyond the uniqueness of this outing, there was an opportunity to learn about Polynesian history and culture from Alphonso and a bit about the effects of tourism, climate change and the ever evolving environment of Bora Bora. The knowledge and gifts he shared with us that day will forever be part of our treasured memories of Bora Bora and Polynesia. We spent a little over 3 weeks traveling through the country and this was hands down our best outing or excursion.

My husband and I loved this beautiful experience. Ken was very friendly and informative. We loved that it was just the 2 of us. Ken brought us to great spots for snorkeling…the coral and fish were beautiful!! The lunch was amazing…loved all of the details!!

We had a wonderful day! Mana, was the perfect guide. He picked us up on time and took us to three separate spots. We saw eagle rays, swam with sharks, and swan with us through coral. We then had a wonderful private lunch. I would highly recommend the tour! Ask for Mana!

These guys did such an amazing job! This excursion was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Arri and Upa were out guides. Their jovial personalities started the trip off with fun and laughter. They both took their own time to decorate the boat with traditional flowers and leaves. They made sure that we had snorkel gear before we left the dock and they listened to where we wanted to go. The very first snorkel spot left us all speechless. An experienced scuba diver in our group said this was more beautiful than any diving he had done after 300+ dives. They both offered to take some amazing video and photos while free diving underwater with schools of Eagle Rays, a massive Mooray eel, reef sharks and some of the other coral gardens we went to. The food on the private island was wonderful and so beautifully prepared. The boat had plenty of space and our group of 10 raved about this trip for days. 100% book this trip! You won’t regret it.

We had UPA as our guide for the day and he did an amazing job. We asked him to take us to unique snorkel spots and he took us to some of the neatest places I’ve ever seen. The lunch was really neat, sitting on a table in the water and a locals house and beach, very authentic. If you se UPA, ask him how he likes his new sunglasses, he’ll get a nice smile on his face..

This was hands down the best thing we did while in Bora Bora. My husband and I Went on a 6-hour private tour that was set up through the Conrad. We brought our own snorkel equipment from the hotel. This tour is worth every penny. Our guide, Arii was phenomenal. We were blown away by the wildlife we saw and got to experience a one-of-a-kind lunch on a private Motu. We kept saying to ourselves, "Wow, we are currently living one of the best days of our lives." We saw giant manta rays, a pod of eagle rays and leopard rays, too many blacktip reef sharks to count, giant eels, and did the best snorkeling we have ever done anywhere. Thank you Arii for a great and unforgettable day, we would recommend this tour to anyone and would absolutely do it again another day.

We had an amazing day with Arii and La Plage Tours. We (4 adults) opted for a private full-day lagoon tour with lunch on the motu on their "Champagne Boat." The boat was roomy, clean and overall perfect for our day. When a pod of playful dolphins decided to swim along side our boat for 20-30 minutes, I was able to lay down on the deck, close to the surface of the water and feel like I was swimming along with them. It was magical! We also snorkeled with black tip reef sharks and a 'fever' (?) of about 50 eagle rays. Wow. Arii picked us up right on time from our hotel dock and entertained us throughout the day with his musical talents. Lunch on the motu was relaxed and delicious. Snorkeling in the coral gardens was the best I experienced in the French Polynesia. Overall, highly recommend a day out with this company. It was a highlight of our 8 days in French Polynesia.

This tour was AMAZING! Lulu is the man! We had a number of random requests (bringing a specific bottle of wine, picking friends up at another resort, changing the pick up time last minute), and he happily obliged! We saw giant mantas, sting rays and sharks and had a delightful snorkeling experience. Lulu was knowledgeable and fun. Our lunch experience blew any expectations out of the water! Private island with a dining hut over the water.... it was heavenly. Highly, highly recommend!!

My family- husband who is a PADI certified diver, 11 yr old son , 8 yr old son and I took this trip. LouLou was our guide on the lagoon for 5 hrs in a sweet comfortable boat— the Champagne boat. Lou Lou was very friendly and knowledgeable about the lagoon. We learned about Bora’s geology, fish life, and culture. He showed us places full of curious rays and sharks. We were able to swim with them! LouLou showed great respect for the creatures and we loved that. The Coral Garden is beautiful but with a guide it is out of this world. We saw a huge eel- maybe 6-7 ft and so many fantastic sights even a seahorse! You can trust this company to keep you safe and show you the best of the lagoon. Thank you Stephane for your help getting to the dock and for your kindness. Also— the lunch was incredible. We ate in the water at a motu. The setting was gorgeous and the food was hearty and tasty.

Nous avons effectué une location de bateau ponton, puis nous avons réservé une matinée privative sur le lagon avec déjeuner sur un motu privé. Tout a été parfait. Les explications pour la location du bateau afin d'explorer le lagon ont été très précieuses, ce qui permet de profiter pleinement de ces 4 heures passées sur l'eau. La sortie privative a été vraiment top. Notre capitaine Ken a été au petits soins avec nous, nous faisant découvrir en snorkeling les raies mantas, pastenagues, léopards, les requins pointes noires et un magnifique jardin de corail à proximité de l'aéroport. Cerise sur le gâteau un déjeuner gargantuesque et excellent sur un motu privé, à table les pieds dans l'eau. Une organisation au top pour l'ensemble des prestations. Merci La plage et merci Ken pour ta bonne humeur et ce moment partagé.

Une parenthèse enchantée pour notre voyage de noces ! Notre guide Arii nous a concocté une après-midi de rêve, et cerise sur le gâteau nous avons pu nager avec une raie manta! Le repas était délicieux, ultra local, seul bémol : bien trop copieux pour des français ! Un moment privilégié !

We loved this experience. Our skipper knew his island by heart, he was the first to discover the best spots. 1/ Black-tipped shark 2/ Pastenague rays 3/ Manta ray 4/ Bank of Leopard Rays 5/ Coral garden. Lunch on the private motu is very good and hearty. Stéphanie from 'La Plage Tours' is professional and very nice (which makes the small formalities pleasant). Our skipper took care of EVERYTHING, We are not about to forget this half day, to the point of shedding a tear when it was over. This is the second time we go to La Plage Tours' (the first time was for a boat rental without a license, and it was frankly TOP). Dear Travellers I have traditionally been suspicious of this kind of service. Always afraid to fall into a tourist trap whose only ambition is to empty your wallet. With the unpleasant feeling of being cheated. This was not the case when booking with "La Plage Tours". The organizers of this "trip" to the Bora lagoon are not a source of frustration. On the contrary. We were advised by Stéphane who knew how to answer precisely and objectively all my questions. Beyond the quality of Welcoming, the devotion and kindness of Alphonse, our skyper, allowed us to discover a Bora Bora from a playful, unusual and "adventurous" angle. A man's cream. The icing on the cake, rather "coconut on the top", our lunch on a private motu, would have almost made us believe that we were living a "comfort game" worthy of the show Koh Lanta. In short, happiness from A to Z. Nothing to complain about. Except that we would be happy to repeat the experience...
