So much fun. Mana and Tahi were great hosts. Diving for our own oysters and watching Mana extract the pearls for us was entertaining and enlightening. We received wonderful pearls that we had mounted in a shop in Bora Bora. My friend and I now have beautiful Tahitian Pearl pendants that we will treasure forever. And being serenaded while going back to the dock was a bonus. Thanks for a wonderful day!!

Unforgettably black pearl experience with Mana and Maru - such a humorous and interesting session about pearls with caring guides in beautiful beach. Learnt so much about it and had so much fun for our session ..
Bora Pearl Farm was one of our favorite experiences in French Polynesia! We stayed in an Airbnb right off the main road and they came to our door to pick us up and brought us to the boat. The experience itself was amazing, educational and fun. Our tour guides Mana and Manu were excellent, they were fun and excited to share their knowledge and experience with us, very engaging and entertaining! First we went to the beach huts to learn how Pearls are farmed, then took the boat to the farming area to dive for our pick of an oyster, hoping we selected the best one for a beautiful Pearl. After the boat ride back Mana, opened each guest's Oyster to see what was inside...ours was a beautiful pearl! I higlly recommend this tour and would do it again!
Great, fun, memorable and interesting Worth doing it. Much much better than just buy a random pearl at the shop
Manu made the excursion informative and fun. Seeing the variety of pearls that were obtained was interesting
Well, I have traveled and seen a lot but this tour was the BEST on planet earth! Perfect organization, great team with a lot of experience around pearls and the Island. They took their time to explain the entire process, noticeable how they care about the environment, and the highlight was then snorkeling your own pearl! Going back to the area where the cruise ship tender boats stop, they performed a song. What an experience! Definitely 5 star. Keep on going guys and good luck with the extension of your farm.
I had a great time at the Bora Bora Pearl Farm. It turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my trip, and it is much more than a simple "tourist attraction."
It was a fun and educational tour to learn about pearl harvesting. We got to dive and get our own oyster and then have our guide get the pearl out. We got to take our pearl home. Mana was a great guide.
LOVED the experience! So cool to learn about the process of making of pearls. Ask to assist in removing the pearl from the oyster shell!
The staff was very informative, but their lighthearted and humorous approach/delivery kept everyone engaged… he was fantastic! This is an excursion we are sharing with all of our friends.
We loved our Tahitian Black Pearl experience! Our guide, Tahi was hilarious and fun, and he made the tour really enjoyable! It was great finding out what pearls we had picked out, and it just made for a lovely afternoon.
This was such a phenomenal excursion learning about how the Tatian black pearls are grown from start to finish. Our tour guides Mana and Tia were incredible and extremely knowledgeable. We got to handpick our Tahitian oyster out of the floating farm. We were taught the in the out of farming Tahitian pearls, and why they are sought after. We then got to open our oyster, without harming it, to reveal the pearl inside. My partner, and I both got to take home a one of a kind pearl which we will cherish forever.
Picking pearls was an indescribable experience: so much fun, and we learned how pearls are cultivated. Our guide Mana is a true credit to the industry: incredibly friendly, fluent in English and French, and together with the captain, played local instruments and sang local songs for us. The whole trip was wonderful!
Fascinating selecting a pearl then being told the story of pearl farming. Then the thrill of finding out what type of pearl we get. Thanks to Patrick and Mana!!👍👍
Educational and fun. For an ocean lover this was great to experience something a bit different. Nothing to strenuous and a great way to see the island from the water whilst also learning a lot about pearls and pearl farming.
Unique, very informative about the process of growing the pearl, able to take home a beautiful black pearl.
So much fun! Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned so much! We got to see the pearls in the shells before Manu took them out for us! We came home with three beautiful pearls. Highly recommend for a fun excursion! Well worth it!
Communication and hotel pickup was super easy! The guides were so fun and knowledgeable. They give you a rundown of how oysters are farmed and then take you to the area that their oysters are and you get to select the one you want. Then you take it back and they open it for you to reveal your pearl! They guarantee that you leave with a pearl.
Had such a fun experience! Our guide Tahi was amazing and he made the whole experience so good :) 1000% recommend!
We had a great time on the pearl excursion in Bora Bora. The guides were awesome - fun, kind, prompt and very knowledgeable. We ended up with two nice pearls from "our own" oysters that my wife is looking forward to having set in a necklace. Plus, the views of Bora Bora were fantastic. We highly recommend this excursion.
This experience was amazing! Tahi was very knowledgeable and made learning about how pearls are harvested fun. We swam out and picked our own oyster then came back to shore to open them up. We got to keep the pearl that was inside the oyster we chose. If your oyster didn’t have a pearl they had extras so everyone still got to go home with one!
We had so much fun! It was such a unique experience and such a fun souvenir from the trip. Staff was so amazing. So friendly and caring. Took time to get to know each of us.
We had an incredible time with Sandro and Manu — this is truly a must-do activity and our favorite memory from our trip! Both of them are wonderfully hilarious, warm, charismatic, and knowledgeable. Sandro took the time to learn everyone’s names, and gave an excellent mini lecture about the extensive process needed to culture pearls. He was also very attentive to my curiosity questions. We then went out on a boat to snorkel for the pearls. FYI: As an unknown thief had stolen their entire oyster collection last year, they had to change their harvesting process so they have one row of available oysters. (To that thief: shame on you!!) The incredible side bonus to this part was our group got to see an entire group of manta rays while diving for the pearls! There were at least 15-20 of them. It was clearly also thrilling for the guides, and we all spent a while quietly following them. We harvested our own oysters, but they also kindly harvested a bucket for folks who preferred not to get in the ocean. The best part was the opening process. Sandro really punked me and made me think my oyster was dead, or at the least, had no pearl. He is really a showman and keeps you in suspense. Turns out I had an astounding round pearl with a mix of gold, silver, and green tones. My husband also had a gorgeous teardrop shaped pearl. They recommended going to Arc en Ciel on the main island for necklaces. Both another lady and I bought manta ray necklaces there to commemorate the special occasion. That day, we also happily unexpectedly ran into Sandro in town! Don’t miss out on this! I’m happy to write my first TripAdvisor review for these lovely folks!
Great experience with very knowledgeable and friendly guides, they really went over the whole process in detail.
Great tour! It was so much fun and a fantastic introduction to the pearl-making process. The guide explained everything clearly and it was fascinating to learn how pearls are cultivated from start to finish. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about pearls. Thanks to Tahi, our tour guide, for making the experience so enjoyable.
Amazing experience and information. Very knowledgeable and friendly crew. We learned a lot about pearls and how they are formed and farmed. It was fun choosing our own oyster from the basket under water.
This was a great and educational experience Very well done and fun Everyone went home with a pearl as well Our favorite experience on Bora Bora
Wonderful… great guys, knowledge & loved all the information about pearls!! Amazing! It was a lovely day in the water & I got 2-beautiful pearls from the oysters I picked!
Fun way to learn more about pearl farming. Tahi was very friendly and knowledgeable. We also both got to get a pearl as a souvenir which is a nice plus. They do not have a store onsite so I would recommend visiting another pearl farm during your trip if you are looking to purchase nice pearls (unless you get very lucky during the tour!).
Awesome Black Pearl experience. Couldn’t find them right away at the dock but kept walking around and found them. A small group of eight made the experience even more enjoyable. They make sure your pearl is up to a standard or they will find you a different one. you get to keep the pearl, and awesome keep sake from your trip.
Unexpectedly hands down one of the best activities we did. Manou was awesome! From start to finish we had an absolute blast. We learnt a ton about the Pearl process while experiencing it at the same time. Everyone one in the group got some awesome pearls to take home. We enjoyed to fun refreshments including local beer! I found some baby lobsters in my oysters which I named Manou and Manou Jr. 😂 Highly recommend doing this activity
Terrific experience! We learned so much about how pearls are formed and had a blast selecting our own oyster. If you are considering buying pearls while in Bora Bora go on this excursion first! Strongly recommend as a first outing to ease into your vacation.
Amazing experience with a very nice black pearl catch. Very well organized trip with great guides. I highly recommend this tour
Such a fun experience! We learned a lot about cultured pearls from very engaging and energetic host, and were able to ask any questions we had. He moved from between English to French and back again to accommodate the guests. After the education session, we went out into the deeper part of the lagoon where the oysters are. They pull some of them up and put them in garlands in cages on a rope between two buoys. You basically jump off the boat and swim over to the rope, grab a cage (which tended to have 3-7 oysters in them) and bring it back to the boat where you choose your oyster. If you don’t want to jump in the water, they will let you choose an oyster anyway so no need to be worried about the deep water. Then you go back to the motu and they open them all one by one and introduce you to your pearl! If you get a dodgy one, they have spare oysters and so you get to choose again. Everyone leaves with a pearl!
We had an outstanding time on this sunset cruise! The captain and his first mate were very professional and friendly. The tour included pickup and drop off at all major hotels located in the Motu. We were picked up at our hotel, The Westin, about 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. The catamaran is large, new, in excellent shape and berthed at the St. Regis hotel. Upon arrival we were offered several drink options including water, juice, beer and rum punch along with fresh fruit and chips. The catamaran is very stable and the seas in the lagoon around bora bora are very calm, so do not worry about motion sickness. The tour lasted two hours and we saw some amazing sunsets! This was a great experience and we would highly recommend it if you are considering a sunset cruise.
One of the top tours at Bora Bora. Very fun and meaningful experience to learn more about Tahiti pearls.
This pearl excursion was great. Very informative and lots of fun. Great for couples or large groups Thanks so much!
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour! Our guides, Mana and Sandro, made it fun, informative, and flowing. From an easy pickup at our hotel dock, to a great intro to oyster farming and pearl cultivation at the motu, to actually diving for oysters, to the big reveal — opening our oysters up to look for pearls — everything was a blast! We appreciated the humor and creativity of Mana and Sandro, which elevated the tour beyond what we were hoping. We also loved seeing manta rays from the boat and getting a nice snack of fresh fruit once we returned to the motu for pearl harvesting. To be honest, we’d done a lot of tours over the last 2 weeks and had only been mildly excited for this, but we’re thrilled that we did it!
This was a wonderful experience! The host was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information about pearls.
It was GREAT. Tahi, the guide, was very friendly and outgoing to everybody on the tour. He was very knowledgeable about the pearls and took the time to answer all our questions. Also, thanks to Manu for driving the boat. I highly recommend them to anybody going to Bora Bora.
The black pearl experience was a fun activity to do in Bora Bora. We learned how the cultured pearls are made, got to select some oysters off a line in the ocean, and watched as our host opened everyone’s oysters. We each got to take our pearl home in a decorative container with sand. It was about two hours excluding transfers. The experience took place on a beautiful section of private motu so the location was a plus. While I would recommend this excursion, I will note that it was very expensive for only two hours of activity.
Perfect for cruise ship riders as they picked us up at our tender port. They also communicated well on where/time to meet. Our tour guide, Manu, and boat driver, Taf, were fantastic! Manu was so friendly, funny, and provided great information on how the pearls are created/harvested. It was fun to pick your own oyster and see if there was a pearl inside. Most people had pearls in their oyster but mine didn’t. But they had some oysters on the side in case yours didn’t have a pearl. So you’re pretty much guaranteed a pearl, nice! Thank you!
Excellent! Knowledgeable and personable staff. They explain the process well. You are made to feel safe in the water. One visitor was afraid and they brought a cage to her! Definitely a tour you don’t want to miss!
Our visit to the Pearl Farm Bora Bora was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating an experience that felt both authentic and truly luxurious. A special thank you to Tahi, who was simply exceptional. His warmth, charisma, and sense of humor made the tour immensely enjoyable, while his depth of knowledge and passion for pearl cultivation transformed it into a fascinating and enriching experience. He has a remarkable gift for storytelling and teaching, making every moment engaging and memorable. It is rare to encounter someone who is simultaneously an expert, an entertainer, and such a gracious host. The boat captain was equally impressive—welcoming, professional, and clearly a master of his craft. Navigating the stunning waters of Bora Bora appeared effortless in his capable hands, adding an extra layer of comfort and confidence to an already spectacular excursion. What sets this experience apart is the incredible value it delivers. We expected to learn about pearls; instead, we were immersed in a captivating world of culture, craftsmanship, history, and natural beauty. The level of personal attention, expertise, and genuine hospitality far exceeded anything we anticipated. We left not only with a greater appreciation for the artistry behind these remarkable pearls, but also with memories that will remain among the highlights of our time in Bora Bora. This is far more than a tour—it is a world-class experience. If you have the opportunity to visit, do not hesitate. It is worth every penny and then some.
This was a unique experience and one of our favorites from our honeymoon. We learned so much about the fascinating Pearl farming process and it was so fun to dive for our own oysters. Manu and Tiné were incredible hosts. Manu’s knowledge, charisma, and ability to flow effortlessly between French and English was very impressive. This is a must do!
We had a wonderful time discovering the famous black pearls of Bora Bora. The experience was both fun and informative, giving us a fascinating insight into how these beautiful pearls are cultivated and harvested. The highlight was definitely opening our own oyster and finding our very own pearl inside! It was exciting, memorable, and made for a special souvenir to take home from Bora Bora. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the experience enjoyable from start to finish. We learned a lot about the history and importance of black pearls in French Polynesia while having plenty of fun along the way. This is an experience we would highly recommend!
Manu was full of information and fun! He was knowledgeable and shared personal experiences from his family. He took time to help some weaker swimmers and children in the group. It was a very memorable and exciting excursion!
This was a very entertaining and educational experience. What a great trip and great guides. Tahi was very good at explaining the process and very funny. His insight into growing up on the island was appreciated.
1st off, the guides were amazing. Funny & very considerate guys. The Boat was great & we had a great time. You don't really snorkel though. You just put on a mask & snorkel to jump in the water and pickup you oyster basket thats already clipped to a rope about 10-30 feet away.
