* LAGOON TOUR with Manu and Tama were beyond expectations. Entertaining, attentive, professional. And above all gave us a tour of a lifetime. They deserve the five stars all around. * The half part of the 4 x 4 was at the most a 3 star. The guy who never introduced himself was rude, inconsiderate, & selfish. Made this part worthless.

Amazing experience! We had a fantastic time exploring the lagoon and seeing sharks and rays up close. The scenery was beautiful and the whole excursion was unforgettable. A special thanks to our guide Manu, who was fantastic, super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
Manu and Ari were amazing guides! They helped my wife feel comfortable enough to swim with sharks and rays, something she wasn't sure she'd do! We saw manta rays, sting rays, sharks, and even a bonus sea turtle! Can't say enough about Manu and Ari!
What a great experience! Morning on the water, lunch on a motu and afternoon on land. One of the best tours I had. We had entertainment, music and food. The team was fantastic, very friendly and helpful in the water as I was a little bit nervous in deeper waters. Food was delicious, the tour was very well organised. They gave us plenty of time to swim and snorkel around the sharks. There was no rush, the atmosphere was very relaxed. One day I won't forget. Thanks for an unforgettable day.
This land and snorkeling package was the best activities we’ve experienced in all our travels. Bora Bora explorer picked us up from the place we were staying. We then started out the fun with snorkeling in 4 different places to see rays, sharks more rays and we saw porpoises too! We then had lunch on a mofu (private island) with a smorgasbord to choose from. We then took the boat back to shore and had a 4x4 take us around to highlights of Bora Bora…a gift market, up to see the cannons from World war 2. We then went to a public beach and last was up to a high point to see a beautiful panoramic view of the east and west coast of Bora Bora. We were a small group that made our interaction with our guides more personal and friendly. This was a full day experience but it was the best way to see Bora Bora land and see. I loved that our guide and pilot of our boat sang and played the ukulele while we waited for the porpoises to show up. They and others serenaded us while we had our buffet luncheon!
Departed Vaitape jetty at 9 am with 13 people onboard and motored to our first of 4 snorkelling locations to snorkel with majestic Manta rays. This was followed by stop in a shallow area where we stood in chest deep water to swim with white tipped sharks and sting rays. We then stopped in water 10-12 m deep offshore from the Conrad Hotel to jump in and swim with a school of 17 Eagle rays for 30 minutes - spectacular. The boat then continued on to the Coral Garden at the southern end of the island where we snorkelled with many fish and coral with colourful clams. We then motored to a Motu on the west of the island for a typical tasty Polynesian lunch. After lunch we were transferred to the island via boat to start the 4WD drive tour around the island stopping at a tie dye demonstration, the 2WW cannons and bunkers, Matira beach and the top of the volcano crater. A great day of activities and adventure.
Fantastic tour. Snorkeling with dozens of sharks and rays as well as a scenic boat tour. Great lunch on an island prepared by staff and amazing views on the 4x4 tour. Manu was our great boat guide and Here was our wonderful 4x4 guide. Best value and experience we have had on a tour in a long time. Highly recommend!
This snorkel tour of Bora bora was amazing. We had 4 stops, we saw Eagle rays, stingrays, manta rays, we also saw coral gardens. And then we saw and tasted green coconuts and ripe coconuts and had an amazing delicious lunch. Also I dropped my GoPro camera in the ocean and it drowned and Arai was looking for it and dove for it and got it for me, which was beyond amazing. He left me a memorable video on my camera. All that to say, you guys should definitely book this tour company for your snorkel tour of the Bora bora Island and lagoon! I have too many videos of this memorable tour to post but I'll try my best. Mauruuru Rai, family, and Arai. I'm sorry i spelled the names wrong most likely.
Our experience with Bora Bora Explorer was incredible! From start to finish the staff and guides were incredibly friendly, helpful and shared so much about the Polynesian Culture and Bora Bora itself. Our guide, Nono, was the best. He and Ari took us around the entire island dropping us at the best snorkeling spots; helping us to spot manta rays, eagle rays, stingrays, swim with sharks and beautiful coral reefs. Captain Ari also spotted a pod of spinner dolphins and took us a bit off of the normal route to go see them. Nono and Ari made us feel at home all day as we hopped from spot to spot and went out of their way to make it memorable. The lunch on the private island was incredible and a great way to recharge after snorkeling. This was a trip my wife and I will remember forever! Highly recommend Bora Bora Explore!
Had the best time with Bora Bora Explorer! The guides were so good and entertaining. They played music for us, took us to so many different spots for snorkling and viewpoints. Would highly recommend for someone who wants to do a full day tour of Bora Bora.
This was a special experience that included about 6 hours out on the lagoon including the lunch stop , and then 2 hours on the 4WD . The guides Manu and Ari made the day , their singing , their stories and their focus on making sure everyone had a good time made the day very special, spending time in the water with the rays and baby sharks was a big highlight. If you want a tour that captures authentic Polynesian hospitality, food and care for the ocean environment book these guys
Sandro e Aari were amazing guides during the day. This experience is worth all the money we paid for. Thank you!
Wonderful day! Saw fish and sharks without getting wet!! Met people from France Argentina South Korea and Elizabeth New Jersey! Guide accommodating and safety conscientious. Lunch delicious Nono guide for 4 wheel drive was informative , excellent driver and made the experience special .
Excellent snorkeling experience with a guide duo that wanted the group to see the wildlife without feeding fish to come. It's a huge ethical issue with other tour companies that our guide did not contribute to. The 4x4 tour was a great way to get a glimpse into life on the main island of Bora Bora as well as the history. Lastly, the lunch was a delicious homemade mix of local favorites. After eating at the hotels for a few days, having homemade food was that much better.
We had an excellent day with Manu & Heiarri seeing the island from both land & water. The snorkelling was great, & we were able to see the Manta rays, black tipped sharks & sting rays, plus many tropical fish at the coral garden. Manu was always attentive making sure we were all safe in the water, particularly when the current got stronger at the coral reef. Lunch on the island was basic but tasty, all locally sourced & cooked fresh. The 4x4 tour in land was a great way to finish off, with stunning views. We learned so much about the island history. Definitely a great tour to do, and can be fitted in as a port of call tour from a cruise ship.
The combo lagoon and island tour made for a full and fun day. Terai pushed his 4x4 to take us to a lot of beautiful lookouts despite muddy, steep roads. The boat guides were fun and informative. The lunch on a private motu was delicious. I'd ask the guides to be more mindful of where they put their flippers while showing guests the marvels of the coral gardens.
We did a full-day lagoon tour with lunch. Our tour guides were Mata Nono and Mama. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, caring and attuned to client safety. We absolutely loved everything about this tour. It was everything we were looking for in a day trip. Food was delicious and lots of options. They felt like family. Highly recommend this tour. Our highlight, like no other tour, was a walk through the property to the South Pacific ocean where we swam in a natural pool of ocean water. Thank you to all who make our day so special. We will never forget it!
The first half of the day, on the boat, was spectacular! Snorkeling in several cool areas, wading around with rays and sharks, and a great lunch on the beach. Second half of the day, the 4x4 exploration, was a bit of a letdown. You never really see the interior of the island. You never go more than 1/4 mile from the main road, up a small hill to a lookout for photos, and move one. While beautiful, it got repetitious pretty quickly.
It’s a moderate activity but well worth the experience and value. Snorkeling in 3 phases around the island was amazing. Beautiful coral, sting rays and sharks is an experience like no other.
I would highly recommend this tour with Viator. The local guides were 10/10. Very professional and knowledgeable. The places they took us were amazing.
Got to experience land and sea in Bora Bora. Maui is an incredible guide. He took us to several places by boat. We saw and were among rays and sharks, an incredible coral garden, a special area where the sand was like no other place, just amazing. The lunch was on an idyllic motu with picnic tables in the water. The food was very good. Then came the land excursion with Nono. He took us to view points, showed us flora and plants, told us about the island, and even some shopping. We highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour, highly recommend, best way to see the beauty of the area. Guides were fun, they enjoyed their job and made us all feel welcome and comfortable.
Bora Bora Explorer's Combo Tour: lagoon cruise, snorkeling. and 4WD were amazing! Our guide, Ari'i was knowledgeable, welcoming, and funny and our captain, Moana, navigated safely through the lagoon. We learned about local history and culture, as well as sea life. We saw stingrays, manta rays, and lots of beautiful fish! One of my favorite parts of the tour was Ari'i playing ukelele and singing in Tahitian between stops. Oh, and lunch on one of the motus (small islands along the reef that encircles Bora Bora) was delicious. The 4WD tour brought us about half-way up Bora Bora's mountain, where we had beautiful ocean vistas and a short hike.
Fantastic snorkeling, swimming with the rays and sharks was a highlight. The guides were fun and excellent singers too! Lunch on the island was so good, with great views. We also enjoyed the island tour and learning about the history and culture of Bora Bora. We loved this tour.
If you're going, it's something you should do. Book the tour through whoever, but don't think you're going to do it on your own, because you just can't. These guys are legitimate, and they are kind people.
Amazing tour with plenty of stops and Ari and Moana were very friendly and entertaining. Well worth the money and. Full 6 hours. Even dropped us back at our hotel. Do not miss this one!
We had a fantastic time on this excursion. Our guide Matu and captain Ari were so friendly and made the day really relaxing and fun. And lunch at Matu's family's home on the motu was incredible! Our guide for the 4x4 adventure was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. We truly enjoyed this excursion!
It was wonderful! I can’t swim but the guides were so supportive and helped me overcome my fears during the snorkeling! They were all nice and informative. The lunch was amazing.
Thank you for giving us the pleasure to explore the motus in Bora Bora and the land as well!!! We had such a great time. The snorkel was top notch amazing from black tip reef sharks, manta ray, stingray, and the coral garden we saw it all! Our guide and captain were so funny and welcoming, it made the whole experience enjoyable. And the lunch was so delicious that we got seconds for everything thank you for great food! The last part of the tour was our land adventure with 4x4, Moana was our guide he was so funny and super nice in explaining everything and made our adventure so enjoyable and fun! Thank you all for the warm welcome and good times. Mauruuru 🙏 :))
We did the full day Lagoon tour. The young captain Manu and his cousin were engaging, informative and funny throughout the tour. Went to several great snorkeling spots - 5 meters deep on the edge of the reef with black tip sharks, saw several mantarays at another spot and then close up shallow with sting rays and sharks and the coral reef followed by a hearty lunch sat in the most idilic spot.
We were in Bora Bora for an overnight stay while cruising. Our excursion was on November 2, 2024. We travelled with our best friends and their mom. There was 5 of us in our group. We were picked up by a traditional boat and taken to the first snorkeling spot where we saw the reef sharks. What an amazing experience!! After that we were taken to another spot where the water was shallow so my friend’s mom who is 77 years old got in the water as well and truly enjoyed the interaction with the stingrays. Sharks were everywhere too! After that we were taken to a private beach for an amazing lunch. The food was delicious and the people were very friendly. Our guides were young and fun and made sure we had the best time and our needs were met. The pickup time and place were communicated very clearly. We got off the cruise ship early and walked around the town a bit. Our guide was at the meeting location early and got us to the boat. One of the best parts of the entire excursion was that the group was small. There were 13 of us all together. Only 7 of us did the land part of the excursion. We were loaded in an open air truck and taken around the island. We were taken up to a mountain via a very steep road which was both exciting and terrifying at the same time. But the view was worth every second of that ride! Overall, one of the best experiences we’ve had with excursions. No waits anywhere, no delays, organized and efficient. Great guides too! Definitely a great way to see a lot in a day. Highly recommended to anyone!
Many thanks to Manu and Ary for making our lagoon and Snorkeling experience "magnific "! From the booking, communication was great. Ary helped my wife who doesn't know to swim to get to the best spots to see the mantaray, sharks, stingrays and corral fish. Funny show and tasty lunch on the private island. We booked trough Expedia in advance to secure the booking. They picked us up from trhe resort and dropped off by the boat.Highly recommend!
We had an amazing time on this tour. Manu and Ari were on time to pick us up, and provide a lot of great information throughout the day. In addition they even provided live music when we stopped to swim with the fishes. Swimming with the black tip sharks and rays was a thrilling experience. I highly recommend the lagoon tour, it's a must do when in Bora Bora
Our group of 10 people unanimously agreed this was one of the most special and amazing excursions we have ever done in our lives! Manu and his cousin Ari were so special, super real and so friendly! Incredible people at to spend a day in Bora bora
This excursion exceeded our entire party of 10 best dreams ever! We have traveled a lot, this climbs to the top of anything we have done! It was that amazing, Manu and his cousin who led for us were just incredible! Book this one!
Great all around tour, with super-friendly staff and excellent communication. Staff helped my spouse with the snorkeling (when sea was a little rough). They even sang and played instruments at a dive spot—very atmospheric! Lunch was great fun too and you can’t beat that view. The island tour by truck was a little lame, tbh. I think there is not enough to see rather than the tour or the driver.
Awesome experience swimming with sharks and stingray. Manu brothers and Ari took us to several places to see Manta ray, sharks, coral garden, eel…super cool. We got to eat lunch that was cooked by Manu’s grand parents at a beautiful island. Then we were taken to the 4x4 ride. It was scary to drive up a very stiff hill but Manu was an excellent driver, he talked about the history of the island and how the people migrated to the island. Very interesting! The best part was we were treated local fruits while listening him singing a gospel song.
These guys were amazing!!! From start to finish we had the most amazing day! Snorkel with the rays/sharks…lunch at the ‘family compound’ with amazing food! Afternoon with a jeep tour of the island! Driver made the most incredible drives up rugged roads giving us views and telling us of the history of the island. Definitely book with these guys…you’ll have the BEST experience!
Can’t recommend this family operated adventure enough! They made sure all was taken care of…from transfers getting there & back to making sure your experience was the best! Lunch provided was perfect & yummy! Highly recommend this tour for a great overall experience of BoraBora!
This was such a fun day. The pick up was smooth...we were coming off the Windstar cruise so they picked us up at Vaitape. We had one other couple at a hotel to pick up and then were off. The weather was sunny but really windy. However all the things promised were delivered. We even got to jump in the deep water and see eagle rays. Lunch was a highlight...it was my first poisson cru and completely delicious! Lunch with little fish swimming around while we sat on picnic tables in the lagoon was fun. Then they took us across to jump in the truck and get the tour. This island doesn't have a ton of 'history' as it relates to the drive (pointing out hotels, etc.) ....but it was neat to go up the steep bits to get a higher vantage point and to get the opportunity to see the whole island. Overall I would highly recommend. Watchouts are that there will be people who are not doing the same 4x4 trip. Some people stay behind on the motu to chill for the afternoon. That can get little confusing. Also with the wind it can be hard to hear what's going on...but just let things flow and it will work out.
It was the best activity of our whole trip to French Polynesia. We saw, swum with 2 Manta rays, black tip reef sharks, stingrays and even found eagle rays! Definitely a bucket list experience. For the bbq lunch they take you to a beach with a direct view of Bora Bora and you have different choices, all delicious! After lunch we did the 4x4 land tour: we drove a full circle around the island and went up to some pretty epic viewpoints, which otherwise wouldn't have been accessible. Everyone on the tour and our tour guides Manu and Moana were so nice and helpful. 10/10 experience :)
It was funny! The guys were very nice and friendly! It was amazing when we swimming with the sharks into the lagoon and the lunch was delicious!! Noemi
It was a fun day on the water and exploring the island. The crew was fabulous (Manu and Ari) and took good care of everyone. The highlight was swimming with the reef sharks and stingrays. The motu lunch was excellent. I only wish I had a little more time on the motu before being rushed off for the jeep part of the tour, but I would definitely book with BB Explorer again and hope to visit again someday soon. Bora Bora and its people are truly wonderful.
Amazing staff, both on the boat and on the motu. Plenty of time to swim with sharks and stiingrays and in the Coral garden as well! so exciting!! We had such a great time. Unforgettable! Highly recommended.
Everything about Bora Bora is amazing, the water, the mountains, the food, and especially the people. The tour was perfect and the absolute highlight of our trip to Bora Bora. Being able to get to the different parts of the lagoon and then swim with the rays and sharks will such a memorable experience! Absolutely 100% do this, even if you're afraid of sharks, you can sit in the boat and still enjoy the experience from the boat!! Also, the lunch was so incredible because you get a home cooked meal for lunch so you really get the taste of authentic cuisine and everything they served was delicious!
Swimming with sharks!! Our guides were phenomenal … 4 wheel drive tour was very informative and fun Had a great time
This tour was a mixed bag. The snorkeling was amazing! We swam with sharks, rays, and at a coral reef with many colorful fish. Based on the snorkeling, it's a 5* tour. And our guide was good. Unfortunately, we were placed on a different tour than the one we booked. We followed the directions of the person standing on the pier with a sign with our name on it. We ended up on a larger group tour and did not get the 4x4 land tour that was supposed to be included. Instead, we got 2 hours at lunch on a beach where the water was too shallow to swim for as far as the eye could see. We did not get the small group tour that we wanted. To their credit, the company issued the partial refund that we requested with no problem. We did not ask for a full refund because we did at least get the snorkeling even if we missed out on the land tour. My advice is to make sure you are on the correct tour BEFORE it begins.
What a fun day snorkeling with friendly mana rays, black tipped sharks, eagle rays and many other colorful fish. The guides were incredible and ensured we were in the right places to see the most fish and gorgeous coral reefs. They helped us on and off the boat and kept an eye on everyone for safety. Family made lunch on the beach was delicious. Unfortunately due to the weather we could not do the 4X4 tour but we were promptly refunded for that part of the tour. It was a fabulous experience!
Even after sending multiple communications through email and the Viator app, no response. We notified the tour of our arrival time and that we were being tendered and they still left without us. Upon arrival, the guy was still holding the sign with our names on it and he was of no help or assistance. We asked if we could meet on the tour ashes he suddenly didn’t speak English and he disappeared, leaving us at the port dumbfounded. We end up rent a vehicle from Avis and creating our on tour.
The tour company will not respond. We were provided a tour that only included the cruise. No 4wd tour was included. This was not what we paired for and have asked for a partial refund. They have not or maybe will not respond to our emails. Feels like a bait and switch. I’ll be contacting our credit card company.
