The snorkeling itself was excellent. We had three great stops, a wonderful guide, and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Unfortunately, the ending left us frustrated. Our snorkeling group was combined for transportation with guests taking a longer jet ski tour. Because our 2½-hour tour finished first, we were left sitting in the boat at the dock for approximately 35 minutes while waiting for the other group to return before we could be taken back to our resorts. I understand the company may be trying to conserve fuel or coordinate transportation efficiently, but guests should not be expected to spend 35 minutes simply sitting in a boat after their tour has ended. It felt as though we had been forgotten, and no alternative transportation was offered. This could have been a five-star experience because the snorkeling and guide were genuinely great. Unfortunately, the poorly coordinated return transportation put a disappointing finish on an otherwise wonderful tour.

Possibly the best tour out of a 15 day cruise. The guide (Tema) was very informative and kind to my wife whom was a nervous about swimming with the sharks and rays. She did fine with Tema’s kind guidance. The water and weather was fantastic. Snorkeling around all kinds of coral was great as well. Both myself and my wife were very happy. HIGHLY recommend this tour. Fun fun fun!
Sam was a great host. Thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling and swimming with reef sharks. Boat was in good order and snorkels and life jackets provided
It was impossible to find the tour operator once we arrived at the port. We were told to meet in one place, but no one was there. No one was holding a sign with our name. Had to find someone with a shirt that had the name of the company on it, and then they didn't have our names. Got put into the back of a truck, but the driver was insistent that he wasn't our guide. Took 30 minutes to an hour for them to figure out where we should go. Once we were in the right vehicle, we found out that the operator mixes and matches the tours, which seems to cause confusion. For example, we were in a truck with people who were only doing the 4WD as their tour and not snorkeling. We were then dropped off at a restaurant and told someone else would pick us up. When we were picked up, we were taken to their "office" and told to wait next to the water. The snorkel boat then left without us, and they had to call them back as they forgot we were supposed to be on the tour. However, despite all of this, the actual tour was great. We went off-road up to some great views during the 4WD experience, had a good lunch, and the snorkeling with the sharks and stingrays was awesome. Be prepared that the 4WD is very bumpy, and you will have to climb in and out of the back of the truck. The second snorkel spot was just okay, but the chance to snorkel that close to sharks and rays could not be beat. Overall, I would recommend it, but just know going in that the organization could be improved upon. If I did this again, I would make sure to get more details from the operator before I showed up in port, not sure if that would have helped or not. Bring a GoPro and water shoes.
Enjoyable overall. Unfortunately only saw one stingray and left at lunch venue too long which shortened our snorkelling. Also cheaper to go with Viator than booking direct - go figure!
A magnificent experience! Smiles, music and professionalism accompanied us since the morning to discover the lagoon of Bora Bora, with its sharks, rays and other beautiful fish. Excellent lunch at Lucky House and finally an educational and exciting tour on an off-road vehicle. It was a pleasure to spend a day with the guys from Moana Adventure! Thank you so much!
Dishonest tour operator. The tour description has just been changed because I complained to them yesterday. The original confirmation was 'Bora Bora 4WD tour, Lunch at Bloody Mary's & Eco Shark & Ray Snorkel Cruise. I booked this for the lunch at famous Bloody Mary's. After the morning 4WD tour, the driver said Bloody Mary's was closed and dropped us for lunch at a third rate pizza shack called Lucky House. Shocked that Moana Adventure Tours hadn't the courtesy or professionalism to advise this before we took the trip. We tried and failed to eat something at the Lucky House. I guess they didn't tell us as they suspected we'd cancel the trip and that's correct. Anyhow, we just felt deceived. So quite fed up, we didn't want anything to do with this bunch of cowboys and took a lift back to the cruise liner, abandoning the shark and ray snorkelling. When we returned to the boat one of the guests who went on an Oceana booked 4WD tour went to Bloody Mary's ! I was stunned. The bar remains open. How I wish I'd taken that trip. We'd waited months for visit Bloody Mary's so you can perhaps understand our disappointment. Bora Bora is a beautiful island, the locals are warm and wonderful people. This company does not represent them. Second rate bunch of robbers. If you can best avoid them. Not trustable.
For the jeep tour, we had Daniel as our guide. He was beyond fantastic. He took time to walk us through a rocky path to the World War II cannons and became a shoe repair doctor when my sandal fell apart. Truly went above and beyond. Lunch was tasty and you have an hour or more to relax for lunch. Bloody Mary’s is closed so we went to Luckys, which was very good. The snorkeling part of the trip was very nice, the guides found sharks and rays for us to swim with, and found a nice part of the coral reef to snorkel. They played local music and sang songs while we we’re in the water.
The two snorkelling stops were great. the reef was spectacular and it was great to swim with sting rays and little sharks. unfortunately the second part (4WD) was not as good as expected
We loved this tour. The 4WD tour guide Adolphe was excellent. It was a thrill to snorkel with sharks and sting rays. But the best part was snorkeling in the bora bora “aquarium” which was truly outstanding.
Our driver for the 4x4 tour was informative and quite skilled at getting up those crazy mountain side roads and the guides that brought us to snorkel with the sharks were super nice. Taught us how to interact safely with the rays. Not to mention, sang and played ukulele whenever we were headed to the next location. This package was a great day.
Really great tour. I enjoyed it completely, both part, snorkeling and 4x4. I must admit I expected more off-road drive to the hills. We basically circle around whole islands and had two short off-road trips. To the WW2 canons and to the TV tower, both of which provides some spectacular view to the island and it's surrounding. Regarding snorkeling, even I did similar tour at Moorea, I was very well pleased with the snorkeling again with the sharks and sting rays. Our tour guide made even a short unplanned stop to see some other kind of rays not usually easy to spot. I forgot the name of those, sorry. At the end he took us to the coral garden, having my new action camera now in hand, this was a beautiful experience. For lunch, we were to The Lucky House instead of Bloody Marie's, due to a holiday being that day na Bloody Mary probably closed. But, still I enjoyed the lunch and a drink, which is included in the tour. I even came back to this restaurant next day I my own. I short, I very much recommend this tour
Tour guys were great!. Enjoyed the lunch at bloody Mary’s. Food and drinks were very good as well as service. Only recommendation would be is less time at Pareo . Would have preferred only English speaking on 4 x4 tour. Swimming with sharks and rays was definitely a highlight.
Great hosts and tour, even better than I hoped! So glad we did this! Got to see the cannons, history of the island, and some incredible photo opportunities! Snorkeling was amazing!
This was a wonderful experience and a great value! We would absolutely do this activity again! The company was professional and on time.
Covered so much of Bora Bora in a single day. The 4x4 is via another company but Moana Adventure Tours coordinates everything so it is seamless. At 60 years old we were definitely the oldest in the group, but we had an amazing time. We toured around the island on the road and then up on dirt paths in the central mountainous area, including a break for fruit and water. They then dropped us off for a leisurely lunch at Bloody Mary's (we were the only ones who chose this package from the morning) followed by a boat picking us up for snorkeling. The black tip sharks were plentiful but not scary. We saw some rays too and in another location tropical fish. Best expedition we had during out island adventures. Guides are all friendly and knowledgeable.
This was my favorite excursion that we did on Bora Bora. Coral Gardens were gorgeous. Atmosphere & food at bloody Mary’s were perfection. 4WD tour had beautiful views.
This tour was beyond our wildest expectations. We can't even pick a favorite part of it. Starting off with a 4x4 tour - so much fun. My husband is a WWII history buff, and it was the highlight of the entire trip to hike down to two WWII cannons left behind by the US military. Lunch at Bloody Mary's was delightful. On to the snorkeling which was one of the best experiences we've had anywhere in the world, and the black tip reef sharks were amazing. Despite the initial shock of seeing small sharks in the water, we all decided to jump in and take a closer look. They were merely curious about the tourists and not afraid of us, and surprisingly, none of the tourists ended up being afraid of them. We even enjoyed the lesson at the brief stop at the pareo stand, especially how they made hand-woven bags and crowns for us while we were there in just a few minutes. Every minute of this full day tour was pure joy.
After standing on the dock at Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort Thalasso for awhile waiting to be picked up for our excursion, concierge made some phone calls and was told our trip was cancelled. We had no heads up about this news and was never given a reason for the cancellation.
staff are super nice and friendly! Shout out to Tia here as he is my lifesaver- the snorkeling gear was not working on my face and leaked sooo many times, he came up a idea to help me out so that I won’t be left alone in the group. Such a nice experience with the team, will definitely try again once we are back!
Excellent sampling of all that Bora Bora has to offer. Tour starts with a boat ride to 4x4 starting location. Mario was our EXCELLENT guide taking us around the mainland. He provided a great overview of the island’s history and how it operates. Highlight was the US cannons built in WWII. Lunch at Bloody Mary’s was ok. Don’t expect the full experience for lunch—it’s a set “sandwich” menu. Go there at night on your own if you want the fresh caught fish of the day, which we did. Then Malaki took us by boat to a few snorkeling places, including the shark/stingray area and Coral Gardens. He was great as well. All in all, a fantastic full day experience!
Even though I was at an Airbnb, the company still helped book and pick me up, which was great! I started with the 4WD tour, which was ok. The guide took us to a few nice viewpoints on the island, and I did really enjoy the drive up and hike to the WW2 cannons. The guide was also very knowledgeable. However, I was expecting a little more 4WD action, it was mostly just driving around the main road. I think it would have been a little more exciting to see more nature/inner space of the island. The snorkeling was by far my favorite part! Absolutely incredible to swim with the sharks and honestly the prettiest coral reefs I've seen in person! The guide was also very knowledgeable and entertaining. If I did it again, I'd probably opt for either the snorkel/jet ski combo or just do a full day of snorkeling. Still had a wonderful time, though!
We did the private version of this tour. We enjoyed it! Our morning we spent on the 4x4 tour. We went first to a look out which had the best view. Then we went to see the cannons. The land rover gets you to the top and then you have a 10 minute or so hike to see the two big cannons. I'm a bit chunky and clumsy, but I made it! There is some walking/stepping on volcanic rocks. Steepish in places but nothing like Magic Mountain in Moorea. Wear tennis shoes for this! We also stopped and saw Matira beach which is gorgeous. At end, we went to a pareo shop where the lady dyes them and shows you how she bleaches patterns on them. They were $15 each. I bought 10 because I had yet to see a better price. We then had lunch a Bloody Mary's (separate review on their page) and changed into our swimsuits. Will picked us up and took us to our boat and off we went! First we went out past the Conrad and snorkeled the coral gardens. Will led and we followed. Amazing corals! I saw a sea horse! We then went to an area where there were a bunch of eagle rays down in the sand. It was around 30m deep but still so clear. After that, we went outside of the reef into the ocean and my husband snorkeled with the sharks. I was cold so I stayed on the boat. We made one more stop and the men snorkeled and I laid on the front of the boat and relaxed. After, Will took us directly back to the Four Seasons. This was a great way to see the island and more of the water that is NOT near your resort. Well worth the money spent!
From the offset this was an excellent experience. Jean the boat captain looked after us very well. I am not a good seafarer and he sat me in the best position to avoid me feeling unwell. We did the ATV Tour with the Lunch at Bloody Marys and then the Jet Ski Tour. It was an excellent ATV experience. Kevin was a helpful guide and provided us with a good deal of historical information. The views were outstanding. The jet ski tour was well worth the money. We went round the island and were able to stop for photo opportunities as well as enjoy time in shallow bays. We also stopped on a private island for some fresh coconut. We were safely delivered back to our hotel by Jean who pointed out ray and other fish as we went along. I would fully recommend this company as they’re were all extremely kind and welcoming and would help you with anything you needed. The day was well organised and an excellent day out.
We booked this tour through our resort after our original tour fell through due to the tour operator not agreeing to pick us up from our hotel. It was the same type of tour just a different provider. We started the day with a boat ride around the island and then met up with the land tour operator with the jeep. We got to see 2 viewpoints and the only public beach in Bora Bora which had beautiful water. It included a stop at a Pareo shop where they did a demo of dying the pareo and wearing them. It was neat but we lingered there too long because I think they were hoping we would buy one. Lunch at Bloody Marys was a highlight! It included your pick of lunch and one of their signature bloody marys. We got picked up there for the snorkeling portion which is what I was most looking forward to. We got to see sharks and sting rays for a short while before the current picked up too much and we had to move on. I know this is definitely not the fault of the tour operator, but one other comment on this part was that there were 2 other tour boats at the same spot so we were asked to stay within the triangle that the boats made. However there were 8 people just on our boat, plus the others from the other tours and the spot we were confined to was crowded. We might have had a better time even if it was cut short if we had more room to observe the sharks and rays. Also there didn’t seem to be enough flippers for everyone, even though half of our group brought their own so I was barefoot and scared to step down on the rocks where we were. We had packed our own snorkels luckily but now I know I should have packed flippers too. Luckily after we left the area with the sharks. They took us to a coral garden that had some of the most colorful fish that I have ever experienced on a snorkeling tour. This really saved the experience and was a huge highlight for us, so we were really glad in the end that we took this tour!
This tour was amazing! We really enjoyed the snorkeling with black tip reef sharks and stingrays and the coral gardens were fun as well. Most importantly, the guides were fun and made the longer day trip enjoyable.
Swimming with the sharks and rays was an amazing experience! The tour guides were very friendly, humorous, and helpful! Great lunch at Blood Mary’s!
We thought this was a great day tour and well worth the price. My wife and I enjoyed seeing and learning about life on the main island from our guide, Jacques. He was very helpful, friendly and very interesting. The lunch at Bloody Mary's was a very good thick hamburger and a lot of fries - all cooked perfectly. The snorkeling with our guide Rooma (sp?) was the highlight of the day though - we saw lots of sharks and handled rays up close. She was delightful and entertained us with her ukelele and local songs throughout the boat ride. We would recommend this combination with this company.
Boat eas driving too fast Not taking the time to enjoy with the boat Restaurant no interest No atmosphère
We were on our honeymoon and Jean (John), our guide on the land portion of the tour was fantastic! As the only passengers that ended up on this leg of the tour, we had such a blessed time. With all the information provided, we felt like we were in a college level class learning about the island, it's traditions. We even learned first hand how the thatched roofs are made in Tahiti. Jean is a Christian gentleman that simply made our honeymoon trip that much more enjoyable. After lunch at Bloody Mary's, our next leg was off to swim with the sharks and the rays. Another amazing adventure. Our guide, Sam, was a pleasure to be with, made us feel safe in the waters with the sharks and the rays. Though he made our adventure more than can be imagined, he demonstrated a level of respect for the sharks and the rays. The highlight for me was swimming with a formation of Eagle Rays and capturing it on on the Go Pro. Highly recommend this group of folks ...
The 4WD land tour is a bouncy peak-climbing/circle-island tour in the back of a pickup with 4 or 5 of your friends that provides a thrilling open air experience. Several stops on the tour provide unbelievable panoramic views of the island. Other stops allow you to sample the local fruit or to watch how a pareo (colorful wraparound island skirt) is made and worn. After much bouncing, you are treated to tasty lunch at the very popular Bloody Mary's to 'dine where the stars go' and you can affix your 'tropical dreams' message written on a dollar bill to their wall. But the best part is the shark and stingray snorkel cruise..particularly if you are lucky enough to go with SAM from Moana Adventure tours! He has the largest/brightest/happiest smile in Tahiti and will make sure this is the adventure of your lifetime. We were lucky enough to have Sam as our guide 5 years ago and were pleased/lucky to repeat the tour with him on our second trip years later!
Mona Adventure Tours have very good guides! I had very nice day. Hotel pickup and Drop-off. The restaurant was nice, where we eat lunch(IT did not include the tour price)
My husband and I booked this tour as a way to cover a lot of Bora Bora within the 3 days we were there and we are so glad we did! We started the morning on a boat ride from our hotel Le Meridien to the main drop off/pickup for the tour company. From there we spent the morning with Mario driving around the island and stopping at all the scenic spots and a few local markets on the main road. Mario was super knowledgeable and lots of fun, there were 3 of us for this portion of the tour which was great because he able us lots of insight into the local culture! We can't say enough good things about our time with him! Bloody Mary's was a nice stop mid-day, the food was good similar to what you would expect from a North American restaurant. From there we were picked up at the dock by Sam, who was also awesome! He took us out to snorkel in the lagoon and then to an area where the water was about waist deep where we spent some time with the black tip sharks and rays, from there we went outside the lagoon to deeper water to swim with the black tip sharks. The day before there was a nurse shark but no luck spotting one while we were there. If we ever go back we would definitely do this excursion again!
The car tour is really without interest. Bloody mary’s restaurant is not corresponding to the réputation much higher than reality : - choice of menu very short - no fish except mahe mahe - service very just - ... The only good thing of the day was the cruise with the 3 amazing stops and the very good support of tiave. Fabrice
My wife, 10 years old daughter and I enjoyed this great, exciting and value combo tour package for visitors of Bora Bora. We enjoyed the swimming with the sharks and stingrays in the shallow lagoon. The water was clear and both the 4x4 and the shark/Ray tour operators were fun, knowledgeable and friendly. We liked Glenn because he made us feel comfortable swimming with the sharks/rays. He was always looking for our safety and knowledgeable about the island. He went above and beyond our expectations. Great service and memorable experience. Highly recommended.
Our driver Santiago was funny. Lunch at Bloody Mary's was excellent. Our boat crew, Vincent and Joe, were wonderful caring guardians while swimming with sharks and rays and eels. Joe sang beautifully, too. We had a great time with everyone. Thanks so much.
Magnificent time. Had a blast. Great guides! Would definitely go again to swim with the sharks and sting rays
We had the most amazing day! Couldn’t have been better. Our snorkel guides were fantastic entertains and knowledgeable and out 4x4 was informative with stunning views!
We were looking forward to seeing the interior of Bora Bora, as well as some snorkeling and eating at the famous Bloody Marys. Unfortunately, this tour didn't start so well for us. When we met with the tour, they didn't have our names and said that our tour guide drank too much the night before, so he had a substitute. We were loaded onto a 4 wheel vehicle and proceeded into the mountains. The guide was OK and drove carefully. After that 1st hour, he was taking us back to the port. We said we were supposed to have lunch and snorkel, so he drove to Bloody Marys and told us to get out, have lunch and wait at the dock for a boat. He then left us. Ofcourse, Bloody Marys wasnt expecting us, luckily we had a printed a voucher and had it with us. We had to eat our lunch quickly because they said a boat was coming shortly. After gobbling lunch, we walked for the boat. Once again, they didn't expect us and had to make calls to verify we were supposed to be on this tour. At that point, we decided we had enough and paid a taxi to return us to the port. All in all, a disappointing day in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

A Must Do! The tour was great! Open truck tour around the island and up to scenic vistas in the morning, Bloody Mary's for lunch was great, then swimming with sting rays and sharks. The whole day was great but do not miss swimming with sting rays and sharks. Bring a Go Pro - it was incredible. We were on a Windstar cruise and they met us right at the dock. We did not book through the cruise.

The pick up right at your hotel was great! The land experience portion was good although the picture is a bit misleading..the 4x4 is not what we would think of here, it's more of a long pick up truck with bench seats where you sit facing each other along the side. Quite bumpy but some great spots with views. Our guide Tibo (sp) was amazingly friendly and a good source of information. The absolute best part about this excursion for me, was swimming with sharks and stingrays! Our guide Toiki was fabulous! He was very experienced and I never ever felt I had to fear anything. It was super safe and so much fun I never wanted to leave the ocean! Lunch at Bloody Mary's was ok. Nothing special besides all the famous people who had gone there before. In all, the shark excursion was a five plus! Loved all of our guides! Book this through tripadvisor not your hotel. It's cheaper and some hotels do not include the lunch portion!

Probably my favorite part of Bora Bora. The 4WD gave us a view of how people live in their town. Was pretty cool. Lunch at Bloody Mary's was very filling and gave us time to rest. Shark/Stingray was scary but so worth it. I got great pictures of the sharks and stingrays. I've gone shark cage diving and I was more terrified of this excursion because I was not in a cage! Highly Recommend.

We enjoyed the 4x4 tour where the driver would talk us around the island to different viewpoints, the beach and ended up at the place where they dye Pareo or Sarong with demonstration! The driver would tell us all about the history, culture, places and gave us coconut to drink juice from it. It tasted different but amazing! Then we went to Bloody Marys for lunch and we were disappointed because of the food selection. We heard about this restaurant and wanted to try but found out that lunch menu was not great. That is why we only gave 4 bubbles for review. If we knew, we would choose BBQ lunch with the same type of tour instead. After that the boat captain picked us up for swimming with sharks and stingrays, it was such a great experience!! Overall, we loved it!

For starters, our guide, Santiago was prompt and personable and really quite funny. The tour consisted of driving up steep roads to various vantage points, where the views were just stunning. Santiago, would position each couple there were three with various back drops and take each couples camera/phone to take their picture. I also enjoyed the various stops our guide would make, to educate us on local life of the island, he told about WW2 history as he was showing us one of the gun installation's. Sadly that morning my wife had woke up not feeling well, so we decided to end our outing after driving around the island, therefore I cant review the lunch at Bloody Mary's nor the Snorkel Cruse, but if they are as good as the 4x4 tour, you cant go wrong.

This was 3 different service providers but they all worked in well together. The 4WD tour was great, Jean was very passionate about sharing the Tahiti culture. We did drop a small shop where they make the sarongs. They were great fun and the prices were way cheaper than the hotels. The lunch at Bloody Marys was pretty good, but you will need to pay more for drinks. Without doubt the highlight was the sting rays and sharks. Will the tour guide was an amazing and funny guide. One recommendation, GET A GOPRO! For the larger 3 metre sharks, Will grabbed the Americans GoPro and literally had the shark by the fin while shoving the GoPro in its face. Truly awesome.

It was a very nive tour in the morning. However when we had our lunch it started raining and our plans for snorkling were really fallen into the water. A pity, the water was grey instead of blue.

Guide was very nice and informative. Dropped us off at Bloody Mary's for which I was informed that we owe for the lunch portion. I had paid for the entire day. Lots of confusion and embarrassment. Lunch and service at Bloody Mary's was poor. Had to call Viator to find out where we were being picked up for the shark and stingray snorkel cruise. Very disorganized!

Our Driver and Tour Host was Jean. A very Pleasant Man that was very knowledge about the Islands and their History. Always open to questions and his Main Concern was that his Guests understood what he spoke about and enjoyed the tour. His Customer Service, and Knowledge were exceptional.

Great day tour, good guides, very organized, snorkel tour boat picked us up right at Bloody Mary's

The hard seats in the back of the 4WD were the only drawback on an interesting day.
Scenery around the island was great and our guides gave a good commentary.
Lunch at Bloody Mary's was okay but not spectacular.
The trip out to the bay was excellent.
Lots of small sharks and huge stingrays to view and snorkel with.
Fun for families singles or couples.
