Hands-on Coffee Roasting (30-minute Workshop)

We had an amazing experience at Finca Casanga and can highly recommend this coffee tour! The finca is small, family-run and feels very authentic, which was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was very well organized and our guide was fantastic – knowledgeable, passionate and great at explaining the entire coffee-making process in an interesting and easy-to-understand way. What we especially loved was how interactive the tour was. We didn’t just walk around and listen, but got to try several things ourselves along the way. This made the whole experience much more engaging and gave us a real understanding of how much work and knowledge goes into producing good coffee. The tour finished with a wonderful tasting, where everything we had learned beforehand came together perfectly. Overall, this was one of our favorite tours in Panama so far: personal, informative, hands-on and genuinely authentic. If you’re looking for a small, family-run coffee farm rather than a large commercial experience, Finca Casanga is an excellent choice. Absolutely 5/5!

We loved the coffee tour given by Albert. It was so insightful and informative, we learned a lot. Albert spoke with passion and enthousiasm and that made the tour so enjoyable. It was very hands on and the tasting was also great. Would very much recommend when visiting Boquete!

Enrique was an engaging and informative guide to the art and soul of coffee, from growing and caring for the plants to picking, drying, and roasting the beans. We had a hands-on experience of roasting our own small batch of beans to our desired level of roasting which we took home for a taste of Panama back home. Enrique also demonstrated four different methods of brewing the coffee with a taste testso we could compare and contrast. This was really a fun experience!

What an absolutely wonderful coffee tour experience! Enrique was a delight! Intelligent, humorous, engages the tour guests with comfort, kindness and sincerity. Each step of the coffee growing process was explained is just-the-right detail level, and then we got to roast our own bag of coffee. Too much fun! First class experience all the way.

Amazing tour. Manuel our tour guide is amazing. He explained every detail and the hands on experience is really cool. If you have the chance is a wonderful experience much more personalized and intimate than bigger coffee farms.

Our guide Kenny was kind and knowledgeable. The experience is quick and simple, but you walk away with a better understanding of different roasting techniques and a bag of the coffee you roasted. Conveniently located in on the main road next to restaurants and other shopping.

The coffee tour was awesome! We learned so much about the coffee process and were even allowed to roast our own coffee and take the coffee bag with us. I highly recommend the coffee tour to all! Enrique is a great guide!

WOW! This was an amazing experience that should not be missed! Enrique is a wealth of knowledge and taught us so much about growing, harvesting, selection and roasting coffee. We also met with owners Rick and Andi who are great people and enjoyed visiting with them. Exceeded our expectations with this family run farm and so glad we were able to experience this awesome place.

This was such a wonderful experience! You get to learn about every step of the process, from planting, to harvesting, drying and roasting. You can feel the passion the owner as well as the guide have for coffee. Our guide was Albert, who is indigenous to the Boquete area and lives for coffee in all ist forms. Coffee really does run in his veins - his words 🤩 Loved every part of this experience!

Our visit was pleasantly surprising! Hillary was friendly and informative. She took us step by step, showing us how to roast our own beans (provided by her) to our desired level. She answered all our questions, and we got to take our beans home to try them! Recommended to give this experience a go!!

This is a great way to learn about coffee if you’re solo and cannot take the tour. The guide was very informative, friendly, and helpful.

This tour was amazing from start to finish. Our guide Enrique was so knowledgeable and fun explaining and demonstrating the processes and guiding us through hands on experiences from picking the cherries through to actually roasting our own bag of coffee. The layout of the grounds was very clean and inviting and the ducks were so beautiful and fun to watch. I loved meeting and speaking with the owners and hearing how they came to Panama and started their beautiful family farm. Seeing and tasting the coffee brewed four different ways was really a treat. We experienced a wine and a tea made from coffee beans. Loved the tea!! Another fun part was their two beautiful lovable dogs ❤️ I will definitely bring all my guests to enjoy this experience. I highly recommend this tour —it’s a must-do!!!

It has been a good coffee experience, Albert welcomed us with a captivating smile and is very friendly. Interesting all the phases very well explained. You make coffee from scratch. We can recommend this tour from the bottom of our hearts. Everyone is incredibly nice and you feel very welcome. We were allowed to learn a lot and try everything ourselves from harvesting to roasting the coffee. The 3 hours passed like a hurry! We are looking forward to trying our home-roasted coffee at home.

Wonderful experience!! Very professional, the tour was very enjoyable and interesting. I roasted my own coffee, tasted the different preparation techniques, harvested, etc... an unforgettable experience. Enrique our guide knows how to easily transmit all his knowledge.

Finca Casange is a small plantation but explains exactly how the coffee beans become from plantation to cup of coffee is explained. We had a very nice and childish guide Hendrike who explains everything. It is nice that you can also roast the beans yourself and take them with you. Really recommended and better than a large plantation where you will be guided by an exhibition and can taste coffee. This tour is very personal and educational! Highly recommended.

The guide is great into it and his motivation pulls you in. The fact that you were involved and roasted your own coffee was our absolute highlight.
