A stunning historic hotel with unbeatable Rhine views The Rheinhotel Dreesen in Bad Godesberg is a truly special place. Perched right on the Rhine promenade, it offers breathtaking views of the river, the Drachenfels, and the Siebengebirge – especially from the breakfast room, where you can enjoy your morning meal with one of the most beautiful panoramas I’ve seen in a hotel. The building itself is steeped in history, and you can feel it in every corner. From world-changing political meetings to famous guests over more than 130 years, the hotel’s past adds a fascinating layer to an already memorable stay. At the same time, the service is warm and professional, and the rooms are comfortable and well maintained. In good weather, the location is perfect for a stroll along the Rhine, and there’s a lovely beer garden nearby for a relaxed drink or snack after a day of exploring. Whether you’re interested in history, scenery, or simply a peaceful riverside retreat, the Rheinhotel Dreesen is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended.

A very good hotel near the river. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the beds comfortable. The staff is not a perfect one. The gave us not the room we had booked.

This hotel is located in a quiet area by the river, just a 20-minute drive from the city center of Bonn. The beautiful architecture, both inside and outside, creates an elegant atmosphere perfect for a refined getaway. The staff is polite and attentive, and the guests are cultured and respectful. However, during party nights, it can get noisy until midnight. There are usually plenty of free parking spaces available near the hotel, unless an event is taking place. For convenience, there is also a paid underground parking option—€1.80 per hour or €19 for the whole day. The breakfast experience was exceptionally delightful! A wide selection of cheeses and cold cuts, various healthy drinks, and the music playlist was curated with great taste—I was pleasantly surprised to hear my favorite Debussy pieces. Enjoying the view of the river with slowly passing barges added to the charm. A supermarket is just a 5-minute drive away. Complimentary lemon-infused water and apples were always available. The only downside was my single room, which had an unfortunate view of the hotel's wall. That said, the room itself was clean and well-maintained. I also appreciated that the hotel is pet-friendly. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality—I truly enjoyed my stay! Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
